These are the type of people that pushed me to quit my customer care job a couple months back. What a loser

And stay away from the iphone if you are looking for a real PDA. The iphone is like ATT's answer to T-mobile's Sidekick. ALbeit, it is much much better than the sidekick, it still sucks (for lack of a better word) in comparison to other PDA's that are out there. Do a side by side comparison here on phonescoop with the iPhone and any HTC device and you will see the difference.

Actually, both the 8525 and the Tilt are HTC devices. :)

Re: 4 gb micro sd ?????? - IT WORKS, I'M USING ONE RIGHT NOW

in the HTC Wing / P4350 (Herald) forum

They are ignorant reps then. Sorry to say that, because I am a T-mobile customer myself, but it's true. I am using a SanDisk 4GB micro SD in my phone. The specs for this phone say SDHC capable up to 4GB, in T-mobile own documentation.

I would personally go with the Tilt, but that's just me. Why? Well because it's WM6 and you can customize it like crazy (if you're into that kind of stuff). There is so much free software out there for PPC phones (wm6 professional), you can basically control anything with it, including accessing your songs and files on your pc at home from anywhere. Make sure you are getting the type of wm6 you want, because I ...

Pretty funny... By the way, this is my first post in about 10 months. I'm a survivor of the wireless industry, and used to post here alot before to keep myself sane. Thanks for a funny story, I think I'm gonna start visiting here again for old times sake. :)

I QUIT MY JOB!!! Never been happier
Feb 8, 2007, 9:49 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

It's been a long 3 years since I've discovered Phonescoop, and it was great reading others' stories as well as sharing my own. I'm glad to say though that I quit my job a few days ago, and no longer have to deal with all the BS (both customers and my call center management). I'm now working a warehouse job, night shift, better pay, and less stress! Gonna go back to school full time this summer. A big fat ...

Yeah I second that question. Excuse my ignorance, what is 8-bit theater? Sounds crappy being 8 bit.

Last night was fun. This morning wasn't. Woke up 25 min before my shift. Barely made it on time. No time for breakfast. Feeling weird. Headache. Big ol' Gatorade bottle helped alot. Anyway... This lady has a "bluetooth car" as she called it. When she activated service 2 months ago (through telsales) she said she needed a bluetooth phone because she had a "bluetooth car." The idiot sales rep (no offense to sales rep in general) assured ...

Snow, call center, hotel, away from family...the situation smells like trouble to me. I wonder how much after-work partying of various forms among employees was done during that week?

Re: Go away. I can't help you. (a little long)
Jan 11, 2007, 9:05 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

Probably insensitive, but not arrogant. Personally I wouldn't have taken it that personal, but I'm still on the rep's side on this one. It's probably way more heated in a face-to-face situation, so it's understandable. On the phone I would have probably said all those things except the getting a job part, and the part about accepting her kid is not honest. But again, talking to an idiot like that lady face-to-face would probably get a much diff response ...

We have the same rules at our place but nobody enforces them really. Spill-proof container? Yeah right, I drink my coffee out of an open styrofoam cup all the time. No phones? People answer them while at their desk all the time, sometimes with the customer on hold (the latter being strictly enforced if caught). That's just rude. They allow us on paper and pen, but if you leave your desk for break/lunch/bathroom, you have to shred ...

My eyes and brain had a few problems with that post. CAPS - Please take off your CAPS Spelling - Please learn how to type/spell correctly "Dipset"- I know I've heard the somehwere in hip-hop (camron maybe?) but WTF does it mean, and why are you calling it out? Anyway, I'm a VZW rep myself, so I'm "with ya" If you know what I mean, but c'mon, its phonescoop. It's not that big a deal.

Well wirefly does have some good deals, as does Amazon, but I just don't advertise it. I once did an order through LetsTalk.com and got 2 MOT v330's for free (back in 04 or 05, time passes so fast now I can't remember) but they sure do have good deals. The only thing is, I have no sympathy when the 3rd party vendor screws up the order, and the customer is calling in wanting to exchange at ...

VZW...I know when I worked for Cing it was the same thing too. Customer's don't even realize it, so I'm not a big fan of it, but at work I have to pretend, ya know

Ummm, probably not. Most of my posts are about customers and the stupid things they say/do. Unless I was seriously drunk posting or something (which I haven't), I don't remember ever being the "customer advocate" here on phonescoop. Only at work. :)

Backdated Billing..(Is it that hard to comprehend!?!?)
Jan 9, 2007, 6:30 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

I keep the explanation simple. Our company uses advanced billing. I get this problem all the time, it's like I'm teaching basic math to these people. When customer calls us to backdate their plan, (on Dec 15th 2006 for example) their next bill looks as follows: $39.99 Idiot's Choice 450 12/01/06 - 12/31/06 -39.99 $59.99 Idiot's Choice 900 12/01/06 - 12/31/06 59.99 $59.99 Idiot's Choice 900 ...

Jan 7, 2007, 5:26 PM

Customer kept arguing with me that he should not be charged Canada LD because his plan advertises “no LD” and he is going to sue me, personally along with our whole company and marketing team. He had my name at the beginning of the call, which is fine considering I use a fake name on the phones plus I have no liability whatsoever to his claim (had to sign paperwork to use the diff name). Sure, good luck ...

I agree with you. It happens alot, especially now that I don't really transfer calls to my sup, but instead transfer into an escalation queue, and get any random "sup" that is available. If the sup is not following policy, you can't be held accountable for insubordination. The company's policies should come first. Let us know what happens

...is the solution. Educate yourself with the carrier's policies through places like here, hofo, and the carrier's website. Use self serve options whenever possible. The services carriers provide are not that bad. The flow of information is. Until A.I. becomes much much better, human error will seep into ALL carriers. Every single carrier/company/service will suck for somebody because it's also human nature to complain and not take responsibilities for their actions. In summary, ...
