Well after some more time with this card, something seems amiss.
The phone seems to recognize the free space, reporting total card size, etc.
However, the phone doesn't seem to play all of the MP3 files on the card. After deleting starting from the first mp3 that would not play, I am left with 1GB of files.

The Imtoo DVD to 3GP suite seems to work quite well. File type/profile is .3G2 This is not a free program, and only coverts 2 minutes of video in demo form.
I am currently still experimenting, but so far the best combination of settings is 176x144 resolution, h263 video codec, bit rate 80, frame rate 11.
Audio settings: codec mpeg4, bit rate 32.
I have emailed them to ask if they have an ideal setup for the A920. Will ...

There has been a firmware update since the 15s reply was posted. The camcorder now records 30s videos.
The other noticeable difference is the funky mp3 player visualization.
The reason I know this is because I replaced my phone after my German Shepherd destroyed the first one.

I bought the new 2GB microSD card from a Verizon store a few days ago for $100.00
Works great. The phone recognizes all 2000 megabytes!
