Re: Blackberry Pearl 8100 for sale..Cell One Network
Don't let it get the best of you. Speak with one of our world-renown tech dudes and we'll get that hooked up.
Re: Need help on this Blackberry Pearl 8100
You will need to have a Blackberry data plan added to your account in order for you to be able to use the data on the device for internet and email. When this is added, your service books will be installed OTA on your device after you power-cycle your device. Also, unless you pay for Windows Live/Hotmail plus service currently through Microsoft, you won't be able to integrate your email account to push on the Blackberry. That's something Microsoft ...
Re: LG CU500 on Cellular One
To answer your question, the person sold you an LG CU500 that is still locked to AT&T. Anytime you put a SIM card in the phone and it won't hit any type of signal, it is more than likely locked. And as to why they ain't put you through to us in Tier-2 kinda strange. I could've at least answered the question about your problem right off the bat.
Re: Blackberry's on the Cingular & AT&T network...
To correct you michael_herc, our Blackberry devices are also locked to the network. Either way, AT&T SIM cards won't work in Dobson Blackberries and vice versa. There is always an option to unlock your phone, but you must get with your respective carriers to do so. Matter fact, I'm the relay guy for unlock requests on Dobson.
Re: Divested Customers
Possibly Alltel, since they do still operate some GSM spectrum in areas.
Re: Any More News?
Nah, that was a good way to break it all down. If they ain't understand what you said, then that means they got a whole lot more studying to do about cellular technology. Due to the programming on my own BB Pearl, it'll say "Extended Area" when I'm away from the building. I don't have the luxury of havin' my device read the name of the other carrier when the VLR hits my device.

If I was in the Ohio center, I'd probably bust him in his grill. LOL!! Seriously, if he wants to call a truce, so be it. We all gotta get to know each other anyway since we all goin' through the same ordeal with everything that's been happenin' over the past few months. Ninja, come from out of hiding and take this olive branch. No more fightin'.

Re: Dear Doc Drilla...
Everyone's different, but we all gotta live together somehow. Kinda funny how the thread was dead and then you come way out of left field to start it up again. Let everything be. We're too busy with our bonuses to give this one anymore attention.
Re: Any More News?
What I got out of everything was that the integration starts on 12/9 where our own company stores will start selling both AT&T and Cellone plans and phones and the stores will have both logos on the outside. Co-branding is what they call it. Alpha tags on your devices? Expect engineers to be f**kin' around with them within the coming months as it will flip-flop from CellOne to AT&T and vice-versa.
Re: BB 8800 or hold out for AT&T 8310? (or unblocked 8310?)
Honestly, I would wait it out and cop that 8310. Just check AT&T's website for the various types of plans they got. I think you'll be feelin' these strong.
Re: Dear Doc Drilla...
Pretty much those dudes tryna' flame on ARE racist. They've never seen me before, but if they did, they'll wish they never said what they said. They're sterotypical f**kheads that ain't never heard of a street person knowing about technology.
This is 2007, fools be sellin' chronic over the PC and text-messaging. For those that look past the street talk and wild demeanor, I salute y'all. At least y'all know the real meaning of how to judge a person. My ...
Re: unlocked Apple i phones
If it's unlocked, should work just fine. Just don't do any firmware upgrades to your device or that s**t might brick back to AT&T. But then again, if man can engineer it, then man can reverse engineer it. Wouldn't be hard at all to downgrade if it ever happened. Word.
Re: Dear Doc Drilla...
As far as gangsters are concerned, I didn't mention any type of set, so the dude from "Canada" gone get his a** whipped if I ever saw him, whatever type of a** he has left of him. We're going to close the thread since ol' boy ain't got no life starting something about a N he don't really know. I'm a kick back, get money, stay focused on remaining in Tech Support going over to AT&T. All of y'all ...
Re: Dear Doc Drilla...
To me, that means everyone in the "MonotoNY" area. I find it kind of funny you want to make a thread tryin' to clown. You feelin' insecure about yourself, homeboy? All balls and no shaft?
I'm not surprised by the response judging from your senseless post and your questionable obsession with trying to make me look like I ain't s**t. I wonder how many usernames you created for the cause? It isn't my fault I have a lot more of ...
Re: No More Speculations, Please!!
Man, I just started a thread to rant about the AT&T speculations, not to have both centers beefin' with each other. Let's all cool out before it happens to catch the ire of both our call center directors.
Re: No More Speculations, Please!!
And I got his back if anyone else still wanna bring the ruckus......
Re: December 9th
Dammit, and you was right on the mark!! I was hoping you were wrong. LOL!! Just playin'. I'm still wondering about the alpha training for tech support.
Re: Chain Reaction
Just shoot me an email and I'll forward to my boss to get that crackin' for you. You should be able to look me up in your Global Address list in Outlook.
Re: Chain Reaction
Yes, I is. LOL!! You're very welcome. Luckily, I'm one of the good guys when people call Tech Support. We'll see what unfolds when the integration starts taking place. I hope AT&T doesn't dumb us down because I love our methods of troubleshooting. Unlimited access to all phones we carry and such. May peace be with you, Will.

Chain Reaction
I figured people would get all worked up about what I posted. Again, I spoke my peace, and the reason I posted this is because I had heard so many speculations about when the merger was all happening and quite frankly, I got sick of the s**t and decided I wanted to speak on it. Even aside from the slick s**t that Ninja posted (yes, I got yo' English and commie college response, and that's why you try to ...
Re: No More Speculations, Please!!
Hmmm, last time I checked I am in an environment where only professionals work, and that's in a corporate environment. Are you scared of slang? GTFOH with your off-the-mark assumptions and stereotypical comment about Philly blunts n weed. You ever hit a blunt before? If so, tell me where you post at on the corner 'cause I want that stuff you smokin' when you wrote your assumptions. Then again, judging from your posts, you always write some spaced-out stuff ...
Re: Its done!!
I'm sayin' the same thang. Gimme my money. I want my money NOW!!
Re: No More Speculations, Please!!
As usual, gay'K'anderson got something smart to say. I'm a pay it no mind. Only flame that's gone happen is when you sittin' like a b***h lightin' my cigars.
Re: No More Speculations, Please!!
When you see the numbers in your checking/savings account increase, then you know what happened.
No More Speculations, Please!!
Don't mean to sound hateful to y'all mofos, but please STOP speculation on when this merger deal s**t is going to close. I mean, damn, we all know it's going to happen. Just let it ride out. That way, ain't no one's hopes all crushed and whatnot because someone said such-and-such date that it's gonna happen, "I have reliable resources", etc. We all know "reliable" resources do just that. Rely on liars time and time again. I could give ...
Re: MotoRAZR 2 V8
You check to make sure your home and roaming download settings are set to automatic on your MMS Message Setup section?
Re: Also..
Yeah, call from the phone, we'll roast you. LOL!!
Re: hey doc, another question...
Okay, got it to work. Nothing special that you gotta do. Just make sure when it asks for access to the network, you set it to "ask once per app".
Re: hey doc, another question...
Hold on, getting a Razr now. This should work flawlessly. I put it on our demo Razr here and it works just fine. I will get this for you right now.
Re: Hey Doc. Got a question for ya.
Oh yeah, and I'm the Team Lead/HMFIC on duty for the night crew in Tech Support.
Re: Hey Doc. Got a question for ya.
We don't ever loan out the Blackberry devices for issues. But to answer your question, our SIM engineering team removed the option from the cards to stave off any insane amounts of roaming. Updating the device won't enable this option, and only certain execs and engineers have the option available on their own SIM cards. I had a Nokia 3300 on old, blue AT&T Wireless and was able to do it with an AT&T SIM card. When I unlocked ...
Re: ATT/DOBSON MEETING IN OKC????
And I had gotten my workspace all spiffied up for nothing, and they ain't even come back in our section in Data Support. I'm about to go whip some ass!!
Re: Also..
When I say us, I mean either call center. If they somehow by a disservice of God can't get it right, have them send you to our Data Support group.
(Get it right, Care reps, our group is NOT full-blown tech support. We do data issues only!!)
Re: MARLENE
I think we had to cancel him due to the fact that I had suggested that corporate should pay for my plane ticket so I could go out to his city and personally whip his ass for giving Cell One reps grief.
Re: well ....
Whatever happens, happens. I'm just tired of worrying about it. Don't know what's going to happen to us techs here.

Re: Pearl/Curve and Opera Mini
It's working on my Pearl, though I have a more up-to-date version of the Blackberry O/S on my handheld. Reverify all the settings are correct on the Curve in the TCP section. My boss got it to work on her Curve last night.
Re: Help
The server recently changed. Can't display that info here, though. You will want to get in touch with other personnel in the building.
Re: Also..
Problem is that you won't ever find a locked KRZR on Cellular One. Besides, you can always call us to get your settings put into the device.
Re: Pearl/Curve and Opera Mini
Did you check Opera's website to see if the Curve even supports Opera-Mini browser? It all depends on the version of the O/S on the handheld, and BTW, just checked the site and there is no support for the Curve.
