There are some areas where IDEN coverage is still better than CDMA. Theoretically, when the IDEN shutdown happens and some of the towers and frequencies get repurposed that'll change, but for the time being there are people who will get service on the Nextel side but be in a dead zone for Sprint.
It was probably a better deal to move some people's upgrades ahead than to just have them leave for another carrier.

I can't help but wonder what would happen if Google, Facebook, etc. detected the IP and replaced their page with a message that just said, "Your carrier is not supported. Here's a list of local carriers that are compatible with our service."

Will not work on a business account (corporate responsible), period. That was an Apple decision, from what I've been told. The guys in the B2B department aren't allowed to touch it, even if somebody wants to open a personal line for it.
It also can't be set up on a personal line, then transferred to a business account.

Yep, I had one of the marketing guys in the store the other day, and when I mentioned it he said it was cancelled. Apparently they gave Nokia a month to work out whatever was going on with the phone, and they couldn't. Even shows up "Cancelled" on the price list now.
Wonder what Nokia's going to do for those of us who were supposed to have won one. Probably send out 6102is or something.
