What ever happened to the May/June release date with verizon and other carriers. Any inside info, was it rejected by VZ or is it still in the pipeline? http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us /products/consumer_electronics/DAVE/ http: //www.engadget.com/2007/01/30/seagate-unveils -d-a-v-e-drive-with-bluetooth-and-wifi/

There is no doubt that the e815 definitely gets better reception than the 8300, I have heard nothing but good things about the 8300 as well. I've been fortunate apparently with my 815, I haven't had any issues. I did have charging issues with my moto v710 (same charger)that was after much abuse though. The difference in reception is minimal but he does need a phone that gets the best reception in his mom's case.

Go on ebay and get a motorola e815, there are plenty under a $100. It has been discontinued through verizon, but it gets better reception than any of their current phones and still has a good feature set. Check it OUT. Motos do get better reception than any LG or samsung, I have been to many rural/fringe areas where most loose service while the motos hold on to a couple bars. http://www.cellguru.net/my_stuff.htm (reception ...

Re: Spot Wave Signal Booster??

I use the 3W Amp which doesn't violate any FCC or VZW regulations. The Repeater is FCC approved , and is only powerful enough to to affect coverage in the area of a house at this price point. So how would any carrier ever figure out that your using a repeater? Besides that, to my knowledge using a repeater violates nothing according to VZW or the FCC. Many buildings use the larger scale repeaters and no special permission(VZW and ...

Check this website out, I use there amplifier which was cheaper than other websites offerings and it works great(5 years). I'd assume the same for there repeaters: starts at $285. http://jdteck.com/repeaters-consumer.htm

Any one else notice the Extended 1x(NationalAccess) areas on the coverage locator. Alltel already takes full advantage of Verizon's 1x area for there customers why doesn't Verizon take full advantage of Alltels 1x area's. Any official words on this and of other carriers joining the 1x roaming group. http://www.alltel.com/business/enhanced/mobil elink_coverage.html

Extended Network for National Access?

The coverage locator in North Carolina and other states depicts extended enhanced service areas now. My question is does anybody know the plans as to how much they will expand this to? Will it just be important markets where they have no service, or will it be any place where 1x is available from another carrier? Any details would be appreciated.

Phones tend to have a better deal online, so if you are looking to merge your accounts I would call CS. They send the new phones out quickly and it is cheaper most of the time. Call your local store and compare final prices.

Get a phone that supports AMPS like the motorola v710. It gets amazing reception(better than LG 7000) and if you are up for contract renewal it is free(w/$100 credit). I upgraded to this phone from an Audiovox CDM9500 which was not lacking in reception and the v710 is even better. check out the reviews the only complaints are the limited bluetooth capabilities.

Re: Best Verizon Phone for BFE (for a weak weak signal)

Phones: Verizon's best phones for RF Signal Performance are: Currently Available: Nokia 6015i, Motorola v265, Motorola v710 Discontinued: Nokia 3589i (all-time leader), Motorola P8767, Audiovox CDM9500 Info from www.cellguru.net I currently have the CDM9500 and it holds on to a signal great. I've compared it to many other verizon phones when using it in the hills of KY. If you really want a solution get a 3 watt cellular amplifier with an external antenna then you never have to worry about reception ...

Don't get our hopes up by saying this is tri-mode or supporting analog systems. Look at the RF testing info there is nothing for analog. "This phone is the one of tri band Quad mode- 800Mhz CDMA, 1900Mhz PCS, 1500Mhz GPS" -FCC database>> This sentence barely makes sense, and to me the Quad mode is referring to CDMA, PCS, GPS, Bluetooth.

Your link didn't work on my computer but I was able to check the FCC website, I didn't see any info saying tri-mode. Dual-Band CDMA w/Bluetooth Phone is the only info I could find. Please let me know where exactly this info is on the FCC database. This is the page I was on: https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/ea s/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits &RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&applica tion_id=147151&fcc_id='BEJVX8100'

The 8100 will not be out for probably another year seeing that it was just approved by the FCC. From what I read it will have EVDO, and Bluetooth but it will be DIGITAL only unfortunately. Does any know if they will ever release an EVDO phone that will support analog?

Is this possible to do with a Verizon data-capable phone. I was told that they do not support it, but I'm guessing that it is possible. Any information would be appreciated.
