Is it just me or is this phone flawless? :D Has anyone had any issues that I need to look for? The only issues I have had are compatibility issues with other apps I had previously purchased for the Curve.

Thanks...I have tcpmp...I'll try it. Anything will be better than having to slide it open.

Thanks for the help but I didn't explain myself very well. On my 6700, when watching a movie, I would click on the full screen button and the screen would go sideways and I could view it fullscreen. Now, it only goes to fullscreen in a portrait view. To get it to landscape, I have to open the slide. More of a pain than a problem. Is it just a WM6 thing since the 6700 ran WM5?

I switched from the 6700 to the 6800. On my 6700's Windows Media Player the screen would automatically switch to full landscape view. Now I have to click full screen then slide open the phone. Is there an easier way?

The 6800 has twice the RAM than the i760. That makes it better in my eyes....This coming from a guy that has been planning on getting an i760 for months. I got the 6800 as a warrenty replacement for my 6700.....Boy am I glad about that. Still would love to experiment with the i760 though.

Yes...This works for a Verizon XV6700. I have one. You get into the File Explorer and go to the Storage Card/My Documents/My Music or where ever your music is stored. You simply click and hold your stylus on the song that you want to use as a ringtone and select "Set as Ringtone" It moves the song to the My Device/Rings directory and you can go to notifications and the song will show under your choices for ringtones.

Turn the volume all the way up for both the phone and the Pocket PC. That should do it.

I'm sorry...I forgot to put the link....Yes it is a program to download. Go to www.trianglepowers.com/ppc6700. Then click on the Today Screen plugins. It really is a great program. I have the HT820 as well and use it all the time.

1. Bluetooth Audio Today. This is a today screen plugin that works great. All you have to do before you listen to your MP3's is click on the Bluetooth symbol on the Today Screen and magically, all your sound is funneled through your HT820 headset. (you may have to hit your headset button after activating but not always) 2. Don't know what is wrong here except you probably set it up wrong. 3. Pda's have lots of GPS programs. You'll have ...

Is your College account a POP3 account....If so, you have to set up a new account under Tools in your 6700 mail program and use your College server info (user id and password) for your incoming mail. For your outgoing mail, you'll use the evdo info from Sprint or Verizon. I have Verizon and for the outgoing server info, I use: smtp.vzwmail.net....then under the Outgoing Settings, I use the info provided by Verizon (userid is "my cellphone number"@vzwmail.net and ...

First things first, Jayhova035. Can you navigate around a Personal Computer very well? If you can then this won't be a problem for you because WM5 is very similar to using a PC. You have to open the File Explorer by clicking Start then Programs. Once you're there, click on "My Device" then "Windows". You are now in the windows directory and you can copy/cut/paste any WMA files there for your notification alerts. MP3's are a little different. You ...

I am a big fan of free stuff too. However, some stuff I just had to suck it up and pay. If you want a good program, sometimes you have no choice but to "show them the money". I have paid for the back-up software, Pocket DVD Wizard, and MemMaid. Other than that everything else is free that I have. Right now I'm eyeing iLauncher....The free programs like it just haven't cut it. I talked to someone that has ...

We'd love having you back chocolateman!. I still can't even imagine using another device for my phone/PDA. However, if I was ever gonna change, I would probably go to a Treo. There are just too many more limitations with a SmartPhone compared to a PocketPC/Phone.

Sounds like your problem is with ActiveSync and not your 6700. I have Pocket DVD Wizard and it works wonderful. I have no problems and I have 5 DVD's on my 1GB card plus a bunch of pics, mp3's and other stuff (apps, today screens and much more). Pocket DVD Wizard compresses the files to WMV files and they don't need conversion. It takes under 5 minutes to put on the device.

Had the same problem...You can solve it by putting all your songs that you want to play in a single folder in File Explorer. Then, when you are in Windows Media Player, choose "open file", then go to your storage card and select the folder and song you want, then click play and the song will play and the rest will play as well.....I use shuffle and they all play then it stops after it has shuffled through all ...

I have had 2 6700's (first one had a loose mini-usb port) and they have both been great. I have not had the issues that chocolateman describes so it isn't with all 6700's. Similarly, many Treo owners have had problems. So I think with most phones, it's kind of a "crapshoot".

Not exactly sure what happened to your phone but not everyone that has a 6700 has the freezing issue you have said....Not only that I know that the 700W has less memory than the 6700 and also has freezing issues. No phone is perfect but the 6700 is as near as I think that we'll get. IMO

Have you gone to your "Sounds & Notifications" settings screen and checked each notification to see what you have selected? I suspect that something was changed on that screen at some point and maybe you have the "repeat" checkbox selected on one of them.

According to other forums, there has been a lot of problems with them getting the ROM updates correct. I know that I just got a new vx6700 and didn't need to update anything. Most of the troubleshooting that I have seen on other message boards have been specifically talking about the Sprint PPC6700. I thought the PPC6700 was discontinued. However, how different could they really be? Sorry that I couldn't shed any light on this.....(They are a different color. ...

Make sure you get MagicButton so you can close the apps instead of just minimizing them. I rarely have freeze-ups. I also got MemMaid so I can clear out the cache every once in a while.....I am with Verizon and I have read that the Sprint phones do have some issues....However, there is endless support on this and other forums.

I'm with Verizon and I'm using my 6700 as a modem right now. As I do this, I'm listening to streaming radio and I do this daily at work. I know that VZW doesn't want you to do it but what they don't know, won't hurt them....It shows up to them as me only using my EVDO like most people do. I have the unlimited usage and I take advantage of it.

If you are already familiar with a PocketPC and like using one, then you'll love the 6700. The Treo is nice from what I have heard but can't do what the 6700 can. Also, the 6700 has been offered by Verizon for some time now....I've had mine for a while (I'm with Verizon) and I love it. There are pros and cons to both....the biggest con for the Treo is that it is about 500.00...However, the 6700 is about 300.00.

Doesn't the Treo have WiFi? If it does, then you don't need the EVDO data plan. Don't what they are trying to sell ya. If you already have Verizon, you can keep your current plan and add on an additional 44.95 for the dataplan. Only advantage to EVDO is that you have internet anywhere.....I love it. If you have access to a ton of hotspots, you don't need to spend that extra money

Go to www.utstar.com/pcd/downloads.aspx for the ROM update. This is for Sprint only. I have Verizon service so I know nothing about the AIM. You can use Total Commander to do Reg edits. Do a google search and you can find it.

Go to www.trianglepowers.com/ppc6700 This website has a couple of programs that would solve your problem. They have Bluetooth Audio Today (for your Today screen) and one that acts alone as a separate app. I have used both and the Today screen one is much more convenient. When you activate this program, it overrides your Bluetooth command and simply turns the Bluetooth on. You can hear all the clicks and everything including your MP3's through your headset.

As said in other threads on this board, convert your mp3 to a wav file and copy it to the windows directory of your PDA. Really pretty easy. Good luck.

I use WavePad. It's very easy to use and it' a free download too. You can save any mp3 to a wav, wma, or whatever after you shorten, or make a clip of a file.
