I'm not here to argue with you or step on your toes in any way. I know that I get text messages from Verizon to check my minutes, balance and what not even with a block put on. I would recommend calling customer service to let them know because I know that you at least should be able to.

Same with Verizon. Even if you have a text message block, you can still get Verizon's text messages. I don't know if it's the same company but I did hear over the radio that you can sign up for freeamberalerts.com (if I'm not mistaken) and they say that the child predator alerts are free. That's just a guess.

Prolonged battery life?
Dec 19, 2007, 3:32 PM
in the Article: LG, Verizon Offer Firmware Update for Voyager forum

How can you prolong the life of a battery by updating the software of a phone? I understand that the web may be improved, Bluetooth updated by removing the restrictions, etc. But how can one make a battery longer by updating the software? (I'm sorry, I guess this is more of a rant than a thread) but if it is possible to prolong ...

That happened to my friend. He got the EnV back then becuase it was the hot item then. They gave him the Ne2 discount and even put him on a one year. I tried right after and I could do it too. I got a back up EnV (but it put me on a two year) Oh well, Thanx Verizon.

No, It does not use the same cable as the 8300. It uses the charger found on that as the Chocolate, EnV phones. You may not see the data cable for it yet because the phone just came out.

when the first LG-vx8300 came out, I was not impressed in the least bit because it was the 8100 wanna be. I thought it was not that great looking too. Now that I look back, I feel that the 8300 is ONE of the best built phone. Who knows, maybe I might like this more than the 8300 someday.

Mobile web (Wap) for a $1 a month

Go to Hopke.net I love it. You pay a one time fee of $12 for a year (which comes out to $1 month) and there you go. Draw backs are that you lose the Verizon exclusive content of the Verizon homepage and it does use your minutes. (You can't have your cake and eat it to) But in my book = Paying 12 dollars a month instead of 60 is still an investment.

I used both phones. I changed to the EnV and could not be more thankful that I did. The keyboard on the Samsung is sooo small it's not even funny. Trying to text or reply to emails is a joke. The EnV is much more durable in my opinion. That little dual hinge got so flimsy after about alittle more than a week or so, I exchanged it before ...

I don't know about you guys. But I have the 6700 pda phone for Verizon. I would use the Wi-Fi all the time when I used the phone as a cell phone and pda. (I didn't have the unlimited data feature) Now that I have a regular phone. (LG-vx9900) I STILL use the Wi-fi. (the Avx-6700 is NOT attached to a number) still without being charged any fees.

What would you say about customers that say the complete opposite? I get it time after time; "My phone, the first few weeks lasted me 5 days or so before I needed to charge it." They go on to say that they even used it more then. Now they are lucky if they get 1-2 days without even using it much Any thoughts anyone?

I like Verizon. I got about 4 dropped calls since 2002. That's my five year tract record. I am also on the road alot and still have had this great experience. Less than 1 dropped call per year is ok in my book. I also bought a pda full price because it just so happens that I get wifi service everywhere I am. (Work, Home,) for example. Hopefully this will answer your question. I have the Audiovox 6700 pda and the LG-vx9800. I use both of them because although the 6700 is a great data phone, I really don't like it as a phone to make and recieve calls. The chocolate (along with the LG-vx8300) has a feature for the video in which you can either do a 15 second video or switch it to "available memory" which means that if you have a memory card you can put it on video for hours on end and NOT be limited to 15 seconds, which for me is nothing. :D You don't even have to get a memory card to do that feature.
