Kids, kids, kids ..... BEHAVE, ok ? It's sad, because I come back in here to try to learn how to load/watch videos/movies on my Storm, and I have to wade through miles of childish posts to learn this thread really isn't much more than a playground for folks ripping on each other. I suppose that's why I tend to use Howard Forums and Crackberry's site -- as they don't tend to have this level of childish bickering. ...

Can you somehow lock (protect from prying eyes) your emails/texts
Jan 23, 2009, 3:58 AM
in the BlackBerry Storm 9530 forum

I've had several other phones before the Storm, and on some, I could set it where it required putting in a password in order to be able to read text messages and emails. Without creating a debate on "why" someone should/should not have to do that, can it be done on the Storm, and very easily ?

getting ringtones texted to Blackberry from another Verizon phone
Aug 21, 2008, 4:16 PM
in the BlackBerry 8830 forum

I'm hoping some of you Blackberry folks can help me on this one.... I have an out of state relative that has a Blackberry (not sure which model, but will check if necessary). I have tons of custom made ringtones I made, and some that I want to send to him. I have the LG Voyager phone and a texting plan (no Internet, email. etc., and do not plan to add, just for this). When I try ...

Thanks for the info. I typically tend to do both --- ask you all what you have experienced so far, and then supplement it with factual info from the service reps, along with something they can document. I appreciate all the help you folks provide on this forum !

Re: Is the Voyager Right For Me??
Jan 3, 2008, 5:43 PM
in the LG Voyager VX-10000 forum

I've had the Voyager since the first day it came out, and really enjoy it. And I don't even use some of the media features on it as yet. Yes, the touchscreen took a little getting used to, but I found if you just use the tip of your fingernail while scrolling, it works great. Just a little bit of a learning curve, and there's been a lot of folks in these types of forum that ...

Sounds good so far. But am I using up my monthly "talk minutes" also while I am using it ? In my case, if I am making a 1-2 hr. trip and (for the sake of this example) have the Navigator function on for the entire time, did I just burn thru 60-120 minutes of my Nationwide 450 Anytime talk time minutes? I realize this sounds "cheap", but I'm trying to figure out which options cost more more ...

Navigator usage & charges
Jan 3, 2008, 12:32 PM
in the LG Voyager VX-10000 forum

I bought one of the first Voyagers out there and thoroughly enjoy it so far. I'm wanting to know if I add the Navigator feature for $9.99 a month, am I also using my "minutes" whenever I am using that feature ? I have a simple Nationwide $39.99 mo., 450 anytime minutes plan, and the $5 mo./250 TXT plan. I do not plan to add any Premium plan or Vcast etc. at this time I'm thinking I ...

is there a way to INDIVIDUALLY lock separate applications (call list, test messages, etc )
Dec 8, 2007, 11:07 PM
in the LG Voyager VX-10000 forum

I have searched these posts quite a bit, and read my manual, but still have not seen if there's a way to just lock certain applications (like test messages, pictures, and/or recent calls) from wandering/noisey eyes, on the Voyager, WITHOUT having to lock the phone completely. On several other phones, I had the option to use your lock on any of the individual applications, which was very convenient, and fast to do. I have read through volumes of posts in ...

anyway to adjust volume (speakerphone), when using inside screen
Dec 6, 2007, 4:07 PM
in the LG Voyager VX-10000 forum

ok, I have looked and looked, but can not seem to find any (inside, Qwerty keyboard) adjustment to raise/lower speakerphone, when I have the phone open. I realize I can use the outside, side button to do it, but it seems there ought to be a button inside that you can use, so you do not have to somewhat close the lid (to get access to the side button). On my Voyager, there is a HUGE volume difference between ...

i3cubed, works like a charm ! I got one of the first Voyagers in San Diego last week, and have been struggling all week trying to find a EASIER way ("issues" with BitPim). Then found out Verizon had switched my TXT/PIX messaging plan when I bought the Voyager, so that had me thinking this (PIX messaging it from my phone back to my own cell number) method wouldn't work. Once they got me back on the right ...

Re: qwerty keyboard for texts on external screen
Nov 28, 2007, 6:20 PM
in the LG Voyager VX-10000 forum

Hmmmm, I'm wondering about that, as I saw a photo of a Voyager (while looking for Voyager wallpaper pictures on Yahoo) that showed one with a landscaped-oriented touch screen Qwerty keyboard on the external screen. I haven't found a way, or heard anyone say there is, but seeing that makes me sort of wonder. Especially since it looked like an actual photo. Let us know if anyone figures it out.

Ok, after all my searching, reading, and testing ..... the solution was right in front of my eyes. I was trying to find a way to get my custom (MP3 file) ringtones over so I could use them on my Voyager. The only things I needed where my card reader, Micro-SD card, and my little $ 5 a month, 250 Txt/Pix messaging plan from Verizon. I just loaded the ringtones from my computer (Mac, but I'm sure a PC would be ...

Transferring Ringtones from Micro-SD onto Voyager
Nov 26, 2007, 2:02 PM
in the LG Voyager VX-10000 forum

Ok, I have read thru numerous pages of threads (several hours worth), both here and on HowardForum.com, but I'm still stuck. I have hundreds of custom made ringtones on my Micro-SD card from my old phone (Moto E815). On my new LG Voyager, under the -Get It Now- category, I can get them to show up in the -Sounds- category, but I cannot get them over to the phone to use as ringtones. WITHOUT using Bitpim (haven't used ...

Can E815 "Bluetooth" ringtones/pics to another Bluetooth phone, and how ?
Jun 22, 2007, 1:22 PM
in the Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood forum

I've got the E815 and have lots of ringtones I have created that I want to be able to try and" Bluetooth" over to my brothers phone while he's right there (instead of texting/emailing etc.). He has a Nokia phone with T-Mobile service and mine is with Verizon. He said we should be able to, yet it seems like my phone won't accept anything coming to it via Bluetooth. I have the Bluetooth funtion turned on ...

Sorry this took so long (I haven't checked this site in quite awhile)---hopefully, you've found out some of this by now. Yes, E815 takes a 1 Gig card, but probably will need to format it in your computer first, then put it in your phone. Others have said the card is too big for the phone to format it first. But the card itself WILL work. At this point, I probably have 150-200 CD length songs, 200 ...

not sure if this is the right place to place this question--maybe help me out if it isn't (i've used the Verizion side for my Moto e815,frequently). my problem .... i have found a way to build quite a collection of unique FREE ringtones (sound effects, script lines from movies, commercials, etc ) for my phone using various Wav file sites, then converting them for my phone (long story). now i have a family member in another city ...

in case you hadn't made your purchase by now....... i would just buy the 1G micro-SD Card, rather than buying the Ultra. i have the 1G, and the E815. granted the Hollywood and the E815 might not be exactly alike in EVERY way, but from all the months i spent reading this forum (researching the E815 and then later which Card to buy), i get the impression they operate much the same. i have over 150 MP3 songs and ...

for anyone else looking..... i researched quite a bit( 2-3 mo. ago) and found a guy through HowardForum.com that makes stubbie antennas for your e815. very short (hard to believe it works), looks great, and $20 out the door, including shipping. unlike others which i read seem to drop a bit in reception, this one hasn't. i read quite a few people who liked the Daydeal ones, but most said they lost a bit of signal. i'm not ...

I'm sure you've heard or seen by now, but this phone is STILL out there to buy, but not by Verizion (although I have read a few people saying some of the in-house Verizion kiosks inside certain Circuit City's still have a few). Look on e-bay, they're there, just higher in price than what some of us paid for ours'. but well worth it, if you need a phone with great reception. And I will respectfully disagree with ...

I sure have. found it on e-bay for about $ 35 (have to be patient to find it that price). i have about 180 MP3 songs on it that I downloaded off my Mac computer using I-tunes to pretty much rip all my factory CD's onto it. also have about 25-40 ringtones on it, using the "email it to a fictitious phone number" trick to avoid any text/pix charges by Verizion (do a search looking for Choco-Taco's method, he's spelled it ...

yeahright said: i don't think that will work on the 815, but come on the mesasges are only .25, even if you send 10 you are looking at $2.50, is that really worth the hassle? Thanks for responding. Actually, it DOES work on the E815----i've read plenty of folks doing it with theirs'. I was just missing a few pieces of the puzzle, on how to do it. and it's not that I can't afford $2.50.....it's just the idea of why would ...

Hey , can someone jump in and help me out with this ?!? I have searched/read all over this forum but cannot find "specifics" on how to get ringtones from the Transflash over into the internal phone memory ( using the method of sending it via a phony phone number).
