Hey guys, in your statement you say, "This addition to the Cyber-Shot lineup is SE's first slider to bear that name..." Of course, that's not entirely true. In Japan, NTT DOCOMO and AU both have their own cybershots as evideced right... Here, http://www.au.kddi.com/english/produ ct/lineup/w61s/index.html http://www.nttdo como.co.jp/english/product/foma/905i/so905ics /index.html These however, don't have the snazzy 8mxpl resolution on their camera's so if tha's wha chu guys meant...

They've "reviewed" phones on video tours. The name makes no difference. But to satisfy the opposers, I'll rephrase my previous discuss. question: Eric, Can you please do a review of the LG Shine along with the "Video Tour"? I would appreciate it if you answered the afformentioned questions.

Kind of vague review. Left with Questions.

That was a good review guys but you didn't go in depth into many things! How well does the phone get 3G signal? When it does, how do the applications work (mobi tv, xm radio)? How does video look on the camera? Speaking of which, does this phone have the same German lens as the original Shine or is this camera downgraded? How does the music sound when played back, is the volume loud enough at its height? Does ...

AT&T should focus on rolling out 3G in more places first BEFORE it performs an upgrade to its current markets later on. Come on now, AT&T has had 3G for awhile now but has yet to roll it out nation wide. Thas' a damn shame...

I remember when they came out with the SCP-5300 then followed up with the SCP-8100. Those phones were the **** (in my opinion mind you). They had a slight Keitai look and feel to them. What with the antenna placed on the left instead of the right, and the larger size (5300) of the phones all together. It all went down hill after that... American phones seem to embrace a sort of small form factor. If you look at most ...

There's problem in the part where you perform a speed test streaming a YouTube video over Wi-Fi after having loaded it over the EDGE connection. You loaded the same video. Thats was an innacurate speed when it loaded. Since the video had previously loaded over EDGE, it stayed on your browsing history, and so when you streamed it over Wi-Fi it didn't take long because it was already loaded and played to begin with.

Its not soo much the customers, as the network spectrum/license(s) it aquires. Dobson for the most part is a rural provider. It's main markets include the Midwest, rural Texas, Oklahoma, and upstate New York. Appearantly its also the largest provider of cellular services in Alaska as well as in Michigan. So they say. Boasting aside, this will be a good thing for AT&T, for one can never have enough spectrum and more importantly, coverage, to stay ahead of their competitors. Lets ...

International? (Question for the Eric's or Rich)

in the Article: T-Mobile HotSpot @Home Review forum

Will this feature work in Wi-Fi spots internationally? Say in Europe? And if so, since your not being charged for minutes used over Wi-Fi connections (if I understood your review correctly) would'nt you technically be able (to a certain extent) roam internationally free of charge?

I'm talking about the kid phones in Japan

And my point is, there a big hit there.

Junior Ketai are a hit in Japan!

in the Article: Verizon, Cingular Pull Kid Phones forum

It still amazes me how different our markets are compared to Japan. AU (KDDI Japan) launched "junior ketai" phones earlier this year specifically for kids, they've been a big success! These phones are phones that kids (and even teens!) want to flaunt. :) With built in GPS, megapixel camera, and that cuteness factor that is soo ketai! Check it out: http://www.au.kddi.com/english/product/li neup/a5525sa/index.html It seems like those phones are there to stay compared to the "fad" that they once were here.

Wow! Exageration!

in the Article: Japanese Carrier To Launch MVNO In US forum

Ok before this turns into a complete misunderstanding of what is being said  . No one's fighting or being racist Eric. I was simply (nicely!) stating that it doesn't SEEM fair (not to mention financially succesful) that KDDI is catering to the japenese community to start with, then "...considering offering phones for different asian languages in the future, but that their first goal is to serve the japanese population...." Thats great! But, even so, will KDDI also offer phones ...

They're off to a bad start.

If this is them (www.kddimobile.com), then they're off to a bad start with those phones and those service options. They should take a look at HELIO to get off right before they start.

Your right. It doesn't seem fair that KDDI is servicing only the japaneese community here in the US. If they want to truly succede as an MVNO here they should expand their market to other races. Either way, the MVNO market is pretty crowded as it is. I wonder if KDDI Mobile can hold their own against other New B's like AMPD and HELIO.

Typo?

:x Damnit, why did Nextel have to sell out to Sprint in the first place?? They were doing pretty good on their own! Although it would have been more expensive and longer to improve its iDEN network, they should of stuck it out, and not found an easy way out of it. :x Nextel is... 3G on GSM KRZR?
Jul 24, 2006, 7:56 PM
in the Article: MOTO2006 forum

I wonder, will the GSM KRZR come with HSDPA or something? I assume that when it comes out late this year or early next year, It will be through Cingular Wireless, which has made a strong push on their 3G network. Soo, you'd think it would support HSDPA or something no?.. Either way though, im very excited for the KRZR to arrive. Hmm, I bet it'll cost like $300+ when it does. Sho, I'd pay that much.
