My Parents are with VZW with two lines and 10 gigs and pay around $170 with contract phones. New plans $108 phones ($80 17% discount $20 $20 ) So as long as they get phones around $30 a month each they will get a better price and 2gig more data Looking good for them. Since they will get Iphones 6 at Christmas ( got to be less then $30 per then) Not everyone will ...

So you get 1gig (since data isn't very important) $30- 1 gig $20 Smart $20 Basic $10 Tablet $90 Phone Payment for a new GS6 (Around $30) so basically what you pay now and you get a GS6 for $0 down not $200. Math is hard but sounds like you will get a better deal.

You are wrong... It will be 0-50 for the contract carriers that pick it up last year US Cellular, Tmobile and some prepaid carriers picked up a lesser known s3 mini this was a very sucessfull pickup and will contiue to offer a selection of galaxy devices at diffrent feature points. I agree the s3 might be a better deal for most consumers (40-100 now) and even a better deal at the holidays choice is still king in ...

Call 611 they will tell you your exact prorated charge to cancel that line as well as any other options for your specific situation. The termination starts at 150 and goes down until it reaches the end of the 2 year contract. You will be told the exact amount and given options on how to pay it. Hope that helps btw every line as a separate contract and therefore a separate end time and termination ...

ok i understand your logic now, i see and agree there isnt necessarly a need for revA on feature phones. I just see the carriers and manufactures to move away from rev0 to revA for economics of scale and uniformity not need for the consumers. Plus the number of feature phones comming with browsers especially on USCC is increasing greatly.

simple answer yes you are missing a lot. complicated answer: US Cellular is a privatly owned company that makes a good profit for the family that owns them. The DOJ wouldnt allow a buyout buy VZW or ATT They use CDMA and are merging to LTE (allowing for GSM buyers to wait) THe finacial market for big companies to aquire finacing to purchase a large company like USCC is hard to find. you would need a data roam agreement requirment to provent flow of consumers to the better network. Same argument is comming from companies like US Cellular. Metro PCS, Leap WIreless. Withput Data Roaming it would become monoploistic. BTW LTE is not the same as 700 spectrum you can depoly it in 1900 or 850 as well. LTE Will definitely standardize devices and make the handset market thrive due to innovation and competition. This though will not be the end to subsidized pricing. Carriers will obviously offer the ability to find a handset from another source and activate it on their network, as well as offer subsidized equipment for a discounted price. It will offer both competition for the carriers to update their lineup and open up the standard at the same ...

good points. I agree an Open standard is the way to go and offer more choices for the consumer. The reason this is not the case here in the US is the diversity of technology and its incompatibility with each different technology. Once LTE rolls out and we can get one standard of wireless in the US an Open Industry is not that far off for equipment. This will not get rid of a discounted ...

everyone else charges for it so now us cellular does (verizon charges 30.00 a month) I would say they can monitor usage and if it is obvious they will bust you. It is diffrent data usage connecting through tethering so it could show up if they did an audit. bust=warning= second bust= could equal data service termination for period of time

The minority stock holder is mad that there was not public disclosure of a so called offer from a big carrier in 2007. Why Not? Why shouldn't a buyout, merger or third party aquisition happen? I think it would provide a a step closer to creating a more competitive capalistic market due to the large gap that is being created by vzw/att over the rest. It would not place them in the same league customer wise but it would expand their native markets and able them to provide a more national footprint.
