i wish that complaint was limited to Phonescooper's only. the sad reality is most telecom company customers have an over inflated sense of entitlement, but on the other hand it is the fault of the carriers for catering to the demands of the ultra frugal yet tech savy. but they'll line up to buy the overpriced garbage from apple without hesitation!

if you are worried about your mail-in rebate, send it off as certified mail from the post office. you will get it back within 10 days. as far as the price of the phone goes, it's an 8mp, 3G, 3.7 inch touch screen smartphone with a 1GHz processor. this isn't a low-end phone, and it's priced the same as the Motorola Droid, which features a slower processor, lower res camera and smaller touch screen. if $300 is too much for you, ...

Yes, because outsourcing to India has not led to any problems witih customer complaints, reports of poor service and image problems for an American-based company. You are not in a position where you make decisions and influence the actions of others on a daily basis, are you?

and i can assure you that reps of other wireless companies don't care about what you think either. having come from the big blue originally, i can say that i hope for a good outcome for my friends there still. but as an indirect verizon rep, i can only benefit from the beaucracy bestowed upon you by att and cwa. i was much happier before the cwa came into the picture. the cwa is just as bad as any ...

So, is anyone else kinda amazed at Apple's inept performance in iTunes the second time around? I thought they would have learned from this since the initial launch. It's so nice to have a product that people want so badly, and not be able to even log your computer onto the network to activate an account. Horrible, horrible preperation on Apple's behalf.

Hardware failure/modem tethering
Mar 19, 2008, 6:30 PM
in the Motorola Q Global / Q9h forum

Every time I attempt to use my Q9 as a tethered modem, my cpu tells me there has been a hardware failure in the modem. My device manager recognizes it properly as a modem, and it is present in my modem list, but to this day I have not been able to determine how to fix the problem. I have tried resets, task manager, usb profile, etc. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? If there is a thread ...

Using mp3's as ringtones
Nov 3, 2007, 4:27 PM
in the Motorola Q Global / Q9h forum

I've had the Q9 for just over a day now and after having used the Blackjack, it seems to be all plusses. The speaker on the phone is just crazy loud. However,... I haven't been able to figure out how to assign an mp3 from my SD card as my ringtone on my phone. I have copied a file to my ringtones folder in My Documents and everything. I'm getting nowhere. Has anyone else tried to do this with any ...

I checked the explorer and found no such file. I've seen it before, when I had a blackjack, but not this time. I have found an alternative to playing all my music without updating the library, but it would be nice if this worked. /;|

Updating the Media Library
Jul 14, 2007, 5:01 PM
in the HTC TyTN / 8525 / JasJam (Hermes) forum

I have noticed that when I attempt to update the library with the complete list of mp3's on my storage card, it is able to locate all the files but ceases to perform when it gets to the "Adding Files" step. It allows me to cancel and the phone performs fine otherwise. I have the new ROM update, latest Activesync, etc so I don't understand why it hasn't worked for me yet. Any help?

Re: SmartPhone Connect?

I have not gone through all of these posts, so the matter may have already been answered, Smartphone Connect is the correct option. That is directly influenced by the software on the phone, in this case, smartphone WM 5.0. Here's a little breakdown - Telephones with WAP/XHTML/ETC. browser only require a medianet package, due to slightly smaller bandwidth requirements. Smartphones, such as HTC 3125, 2125, and in our case, the Blackjack, only require Smartphone Connect packages. These tend to run ...

Re: What is the 1 year price on this phone??
Jul 12, 2006, 6:47 PM

Cingular corporate stores in Northeast Florida and surrounding areas have eliminated any 1 year discount price. The only way to get a discount on a phone now is with a 2 year contract.

Picture size will be cropped to that size UNLESS you take the picture with the camera on the phone, and set the viewfinder size to the entire screen. After the picture is taken, it must remain on the phone memory, and cannot be "moved" to a memory card. It can be copied though. Found this out the hard way.

For any future problems for anyone who reads this, make sure that after your phone is activated and the sales rep hands it to you, the phone is POWER CYCLED. Many people make this mistake (employees and customers alike), but after you agree to the contract on the phone, it must be restarted in order for the features to work. General FYI if it helps anyone.

iTunes and the D807
Jul 12, 2006, 6:41 PM
in the Samsung SGH-D807 / D806 forum

I know the D807 will not support iTunes, as I had a ROKR before and now almost all my music files are .m4a's. However, what can I use to convert them back into .mp3, .mp4, .aac, .wma, anything that can be read through Musicmatch Jukebox "and" the D807. Any help greatly appreciated.

This isn't exactley fool-proof. Odds are you purchased it from an agent, or third party dealer. A corporate store will almost certainly not sell a phone for free. That shows up on an audit like Kunta Kinte at a Merle Haggard concert. Never hurts to ask though.

You have to protect each message individualy. Highlight a particular message and select options. You should see a "Protection" option. This may not save it to the phone, but it will prevent it from becoming lost information. To retort, I just looked mine over. Do you move your sim card from phone to phone frequently?

Depending on how many features you use and whether all at once or seperately, your battery life will be affected. Such features include Bluetooth, camera, media net, playing any game or using any application you may have. Also, make sure your backlight is set on the shortest timeout period. This will also improve battery life. Signal and network strength also play a major factor in battery life.Mine last's for 1 - 1 1/2 days, depending on how much I ...
