It sounds like you got an override for your phone discount. Third party resellers of the service can price phones at their discretion and sometimes it can be better than the corporate store. It sounds like you should have gone into a store to speak with a person to walk through to figure it out. Now my sarcasm: I do hope companies go out of business everytime a customer doesn't understand something. I wonder how many ...

I think you need to check the dictionary and look up what exclusive means. Yes exclusive to the google.com/phone website. Not allowing the carriers to handle distribution directly but only allowing themselves to hold and sell the device as it's own entity. any body can buy the phone, you don't even need to tell them your carrier and they ship it UNLOCKED!! They still set agreements with the carriers for providing the phone and getting rights ...

I think it's great that this is happening to the Nexus One. It teaches Google a valuable lesson about trying to be all exclusive like Apple and so many people that want the phone but can't because of their ridiculous terms. Karma is a B. Sorry Google, love ya, but you're not Apple and you don't have to be...be GOOGLE!

Re: T-Mobile Charging Flexpay customers 35 to lower payment
Oct 30, 2009, 11:08 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

Maybe that was a customer service answer but my last line is the reality of the complaining about money answer. It does stink that they are charging these fees but I can only revert back to my last statement, and that is mostly why I feel for those who have been with T-Mobile for a long time but the cost savings are all what's forward. No sense in dwelling on something that probably isn't going to happen. the ...

Just out of curiosty why would you want to change carriers for a service that costs considerably more for most likely less? T-Mobile definitely respects your monthly payment but you have to ask yourself if you enjoy the monthly service that you are getting. It is not like you are donating money for nothing you are hopefully paying for solid service and the fact that you would receive a one time charge to change to a plan ...

Your battle between the two of you is maybe a difference of markets. I am in agreement that a very small handful of people are actually interested in live GPS that TeleNav offers because either A. their car gives it to them for free or B. they already have their own handheld GPS. And as far as TV, same thing, for this area most people don't care about or would use it.

The Android OS is 100% open so as far as I am aware the sky is the limit. We just had one of our engineers working with us today stating exactly this that many developers have already received information from the Android OS to have many apps ready and the phone hasn't even launched yet, and even better yet a lot of good software developers that left the Apple App Store for just that restrictive reason.

You can argue that the coverage levels for Verizon are better in certain markets and on the adverse that T-Mobile is better in certain markets. Verizon is not such a high step above the rest like most might think, marketing really does wonders, they may be better in some respects but their advertising certainly is an exaggeration.

I am not going to stake any claim to what your daughter states either, maybe not in "snozberry, ny" where everyone and their dog uses an iphone, but everywhere else I have been and seen people use them all the time. No one in this particular thread is getting what was said by the other gentleman, people will pay the extra $200.00 because Sprint has put themselves in such a hole that they have to actually try and convince people that what they have is better; and with their current track record, especially versus AT&T, that is highly unlikely.

I completely agree with you, not only the 3 you mentioned but many other phones overseas launched well before the iPhone with similar features. It is just people in the U.S. are so sold on Apple's marketing that even phone's launched AND as far as made before the iPhone are getting that title of "clone".

Re: tzones WILL WORK IF>>>
Jun 11, 2008, 4:28 PM

TZones does work, and it works just fine. All you need to do once the phone is unlocked is go into the "installer" program, go to "all programs" or "tweaks 1.1.3 or 1.1.4", and find the tzones hack 1.1.3 or 1.1.4, download, and restart your iPhone. When you are done, tzones should work perfectly. How do I know, I have done it for my personal phone, and a few others and not once has that process ...

I would say two things, 1) go to google and just search for unlocked motorola q9 GSM, or 2) same search but on eBay instead. I think those are the easiest ways to get one unlocked unless you just buy one from a GSM carrier (i.e. AT&T) and then get it unlocked from an online service or from a store in your area that does that.

Re: Does T-mobile have prorated Etfs ?
May 30, 2008, 7:02 PM
in the T-Mobile forum

Not necessarily. I know that coming from Verizon a lot of there existing customer's specifically have to request a prorated ETF to get it, otherwise they will pay the full price. So when it does change in the T-Mobile agreement, basically use the old saying "it never hurts to ask (or request as it may be)".

That comment was not thought out at all. Think about what you said. The Sidekick up to the 4th one was named Sidekick, Sidekick 2, and Sidekick 3. And who even said that was the name of the Shadow 2? Just an update on the release of the 2nd generation of the Shadow if that makes it better for you.

8O Wow! Wouldn't it be awesome if T-Mobile actually picked up a different handset other than the same stuff from Samsung and Motorola that they continuously do. It just sucks in the US because more people still care about the deal they can get rather than thinking about what the phone will actually offer. Too bad we are in a corporate(carrier) controlled environment and the manufacturers can't make what they want for us as far as demand ...

Re: Sales Rep Job

T-Mobile in this area is definitely a pay cut from Verizon. I don't believe I could positively sell Verizon service though, so even with less pay I personally will have to stick it out here. What market are you in could make a big difference too though.

There are and have been many phones that are and will continue to be significantly better than the iPhone. Just take the Nokia N95 or the Nokia N96. There is also the Sony Ericsson W960 as well as on the other side of the entertainment spectrum the K850i. Most phones however that are better than the iPhone are only available overseas. Pretty much all US phones are trash because of the restrictions that all the ...

Number one, you can get the iPhone unlocked with T-Mobile anyway which is the best choice. Just find a phone unlocking store in your area, they do it quickly around here and usually support the phone through any additional updates as well. :)

I am a t-mobile employee and I hate charging you the $18.00 upgrade fee. But the point that everyone here is simply trying to make is to quit complaining as much as you are because it is not going to change. Just be happy you are with t-mobile who has the lowest "upgrade fee" of all the carriers. To put it in slightly better perspective the fee is helping to bring the cost down on some ...

Blah blah blah. Only in certain states. T-Mobile tells customers that, but laws in most states say that calls can be recorded by either party without the other knowing. Some have to have a person on the end of the line with them as a "witness" to the recorded call. And in few states both/all parties must be aware of the call. T-Mobile policy is not law.

Cellular customers are the hardest to deal with. Literally. I have worked retail service in many other electronics stores as well as the service industry for satellite tv and radio. No one is like or has the same "I am priviledged and entitled mindset" that a cellular customer has. I understand that we should always treat customers as though they are number one, but it is so much harder when all they do is talk ...

EXACTLY THE DIFFERENCE
Nov 27, 2007, 2:35 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

And this is a huge reason why all carriers are behind other countries. I had a great example the other day on American cell users versus UK cell users. The first difference was in regards to cell phone costs, the first always wants to know what they can get for free, and the latter is asking what do I need to pay to get into a decent phone. This all spins from the firsts opinion of themselves and their ...

Shadow: 2.0 MP Camera w/ video (based on memory). According to HTC an update will soon be released after the launch to allow the phone the capacity of working with NEW 16GB and possibly up to 32GB Micro SD. Believe it, it's true. NO TouchFLO  Spin navigation wheel and 5 way directional pad. 201MHz processor, same as wing (will run faster though as it is a smartphone, but not impressive in comparison to newer products) 256MB ROM ...

That is very true. Customers, in my opinion, view cellular electronics COMPLETELY separate from any other type of electronic device out there...why? Damage can still be done the same.
