I posted this in another part of the thread, but I wonder if any other company has tried the DO (dynamic organization). And if they have, are they still in business? Is the company growing? Everything I've seen about the DO is about justifying the jobs of the people forcing you into DO training. It's darned sure not about growing the business or doing better service, that's for sure. k

I just had a thought in the middle of the night, last night. Has any company using the DO (dynamic organization) actually made money? Stayed in business? Just wondering. k

I've been reading some of the past memos, and that "winning" word keeps coming up. What winning looks like to an agent is different than what winning looks like to the Head Offices. If there are any agencies left at the end of the summer I'll eat my hat. That being said, WalMart and Sam's Clubs are not agencies, even if that is the "channel" they are "working" out of. k

Yeah, I was never very good at guzzling the Kool-Aid. I felt like they have been trying to set us up to fail, but our community has really gotten behind us and made it difficult for them to hurt us. That being said, I agree, American Companies are definitely looking for ways to have customer they neither have to see or actually deal with. It's almost like it's more important for them to pay their upper ...

I am an agent, in SW OK. I'd worry about my higherups seeing this and doing something to jeopardize my agency. However, now I have no problem with saying that USCC is in big trouble. If I didn't know better (sarcasm), I'd say they were gearing up for a sale. Or total shut down. In OK, most if not all of the single store agents are being shut down. I should say not having their ...

Exactly, so it is cheaper than it would be if you could go through your carrier. Probably better, since they give you money to replace the phone at cost, most of the time... k

I have several custies who do this. They get a new phone every 6 or so months, using 4 or 5 lines to get the newest coolest or to replace a phone that has been smashed or something. One of those customers has a $250 a month bill, I don't get it, an $80 plan would take care of him, and he could just buy the phones outright and save money over the long term. No ...

Talk to just about any Insurance Carrier (State Farm, All State, etc...) they have small electronics insurance that can cover an I-Phone. And they usually cost between 7 and 10 bucks a month, and have choices of deductable costs (most of the time) as well. It's the only solution my ATT friends have for the majority of smart phones with them. k

It sells, but there is no margin on it. You barely make enough to cover the cost of the bag, box and papers. Apple won't allow anyone else but them to make any money on it. I have a RadioShack Franchise as well, and I promise you there the profit on the Iphone is laughable. k

That's okay, I had a customer come in and try to get me to call customer service and verify that he was his son. His son had the credit needed to get the phones, but he was the one setting up service. When I told him I couldn't do that, he produced son with two out of state ID's. Then he got on the phone with CS to tell them that I had finally verified him. ...

I haven't ever had the word undesirable come up, but I have had "call credit" come up and had them tell me that either the customer pay thousands of dollars in defaulted bills in order to get re-evaluated, or just say, nope, nobody's going to get a phone today. If the word "Undesirable" showed up on my screen I'd probably burst out into uncontrollable laughter and have to apologize or something. How did you keep a straight face on ...

it boils down to this. Yes, sometimes the new plans are more expensive than the old ones. Sometimes not. What the customer has to decide is this. Do I keep what I have and be happy with it and what I'm paying, or do I pay a little extra for the benefit of never being in contract again, for the ability to never have a bill be more than $50 (or $150) more than I thought it would be, and for ...

We need to remember that most of these plans are not aimed at existing customers. Families without data are going to want to stay on their current plan for a while until things shake out. These plans are aimed at Verizon and ATT customers who are paying more than our new plans with less features and benefits. They also benefit many of our single line people with everything on their plans. The Single National Unlimited ...

my experience with both Samsung and HTC is this. If you want a device that has tons of features, computing ability, gadgets, including tons of stuff you will never find or use. If you have a degree (or minor) in programing or are a IT professional. The HTC is for you. If you want to try an android and don't need so much stuff preloaded, but only want what you will actually use, with a more simplified ...

The Acclaim doesn't like the format of any phone book entries, including from other samsungs, so bluetooth doesn't work for that. Thank God for My Contact Backup! BTW has anyone caught themselves saying "there's an ap for that." yet? I said it 12 times yesterday. Anything the phone has a hard time with or doesn't do has an app to fix it with. k

I know it can be done! Can we send a sound to a customer's phone that would render them deaf and mute for an hour or so? If the customer continues to complain (via txt or email) then another tone could be sent that would render the brain incapable of sending nerve signals to the custie's thumbs. This has got to be possible. Maybe there's an Android Ap for that somewhere! k

I won't argue with you there. I'm a franchise and I don't sell RadioShack's wireless brands, we are an agency for another carrier. We work very hard to do our job right, but soooooo many of the other RS's don't worry about it. Just start hackin' away at the computer and let customer service fix it later, seems to be their motto.

Okay, about two years ago Nokia was in a nasty knock down drag out with QualCom (spelling, sorry). Basically, Qualcom has a monopoly on manufacturing the only chip in the world that makes the CDMA phones work, and Nokia kept trying to reverse engineer one and stepping on Qualcom's "patents". Nokia stopped manufacturing phones for CDMA carriers (for about 6 months) while it worked on making their own chip. Court cases flew all over the world, and ...

Hey, guys, long time, no post! Do you know what a pepper roaster is? It's a hopper that rotates over an open flame while the peppers tumble around inside. One of my customers uses one to make home made salsa. Well, when you accidentally drop your phone in one (he didn't feel it fall out of his overalls), and let the peppers roast, it comes out looking like a rock. The charging port was sealed over, ...

My response.... Okay, then, make sure when you are filling out the secret shopper form, you spell my name right, and put that you would be very likely to buy a phone. (If they are a secret shopper, most times they won't complete the shop since they've been busted, and if they aren't, they'll laugh and leave anyway.)

What I have done, is to help them fill out the form right there. Fill it out for them, then ask them the questions right there. That way, they won't be able to flame you behind your back, and they can look you in your eye. If they ask why you are doing this, you tell them that you really want to improve your customer service rating, and want to know immediately how you are doing. ...

Amen, but we just raised our price to $20, for all other carriers. It's more of a don't bother me kind of thing, than a money maker, and since my carrier (I'm an agent) bought my most recent Cellebrite, I don't have a problem with letting our custies do PBTs for free. Up until that point, I charged everyone except those who had bought their phones in my store.
