Has anyone here actually used MetroPCS LTE? From what I read, it preforms more like very low end HSPA.

Speed Tests?

in the Article: Hands-On: Samsung Galaxy Indulge for metroPCS forum

Can't we get some actual speed tests? What are the numbers like on their empty LTE network?

I disagree

I disagree that 4G won't get you through streaming video. With my clear iSpot running at 6mbps, it was more than enough to stream netflix movies with absolutely no problems.

Isn't that free on contract already? The fascinate is is $199 on vzw. That's a big difference between carriers!

This is all MetroPCS's fault!

in the Article: New York Town Passes Law to Curb Cell Tower Construction forum

Thanks, MetroPCS. This is all their fault. Why? They just had to go install DAS nodes in peoples front yards all over Long Island. That was the tipping point that set this whole thing in motion. Agh!

If the FCC did not like vzw upping their ETF....
Jan 6, 2010, 11:55 AM
in the Article: ETF for Nexus One May Reach $550 forum

they are going to have a field day with this one. What right does google have to charge an ETF? The price of the phone is subsidized via the carrier, not the OEM. Unless there is some weird deal going on between tmo and google here, this isnt right. Still, the combined ETF being more than the phone itself is outrageous!

Why?

in the Article: Sprint Developer Site Betrays the HTC Touch Pro 2 forum

Besides the addition of GSM, which I would probably never use, what the hell is the difference between this and the TP1? Other than a larger screen, it is virtually the same!

Lack of competition?
Jun 17, 2009, 8:45 AM
in the Article: AT&T and Verizon Fight Back Against Price Fixing Accusation forum

The government is complaining about lack of competition?!? Then why the hell do they keep allowing companies to merge? AT&T/Cingular, Verizon/Alltel, Sprint/Nextel. Wahhhhhh lack of competition.

No EVDO still?!?!

This update still does not add EVDO data? Come on!

Why is it always JUST 911?
Mar 3, 2009, 1:17 PM
in the Article: LG Recalls 30,000 Phones Due to 911 Glitch forum

How come whenever you hear a story about phones being recalled for not being able to maintain 911 calls, 911 is the ONLY number it has issues with. What the hell causes this?

uhhh...yeah No exclusivity deal applies to the NYC subway. Or any agreement for that matter. There is no service down in the NYC subway at all.

I just don't see the point of this.
Jun 20, 2008, 1:42 PM
in the Article: Delta Follows Continental's Footsteps forum

I really do not see the point of this. For the past few years on jetblue, I have been able to print my boarding pass outup to 24 hours in advance, and just use that. Having the pass on my cell just seems like it would be difficult and confusing.

I have had a keychain RFID debit linked thingy for a couple of years now. That thing is a lot better than some crappy phone with no keypad. Why bother with this thing.

50% Roll out in NYC?
Oct 6, 2006, 2:18 PM

When did this happen? I have noticed that on long island over the summer, every t-mobile site in the area had someone working on it at some point, but no panels were changed. Was that UMTS rollout?

Sep 28, 2006, 3:37 PM
in the Article: Mobile ESPN Throws In The Towel forum

Did ESPN (Disney) really think that they could make this MVNO work? Come on. They were marketing to people who already have cell phones, and the 2 year contract to go along with it. Switching carriers is a hassle, and most people do not want to go through all of that just to get some sports scores. Anyone who really wants this stuff already can on their existing phone. I have an a900 with sprint, and am able ...

Re: Too bad my a900's battery life wouldn't last though a whole movie...

This would be a problem for me with my a900, as I can not go a full day with normal usage, or even just listening to the music store for a little bit.
