Re: Does the camera have a flash?
Yes it has autofocus.
Re: Is this gonna be sold UNLOCKED ONLY on Palm?
No one has announced they will carry the device. That doesn't mean they won't carry it.
Re: Is this gonna be sold UNLOCKED ONLY on Palm?
Nope, AT&T is planning on carrying the device as a replacement to the Treo 750.
Re: Sony Ericcson Z780 **AT&T REPS**
Why would you say that? They only Sony Ericsson that failed to make it was the k850. Don't be suprised if you see the many Sony's in the near future. There is no real issue with Sony or Nokia, only the pricing for their devices.
Re: Oh Verizon...
Actually, Cingular was the first to prorate ETF fees. The Southeast was that way years before VZW thought about it. The $175 nationwide came along with the buyout of Bellsouth and now they proration is back.
Re: Touch Pro
i wouldn't believe everything you read on the internet. there will be GSM/UMTS/HSDPA mobels for the states this year. :D
Re: People like to forget that EV-DO is 3G...
Whatever you say bud. :-) If your delusions where really true, more people would acknowledge EV-DO as 3G.
There is way more than 5% of people that buy unlocked HSDPA devices to use in the US. True 3G devices are use HSDPA not EV-DO. Good luck with that though, ;-)
Re: People like to forget that EV-DO is 3G...
People don't forget, most just don't care about EV-DO because it's only data. Only Verizon and Sprint customers get excited about EV-DO. The rest of the world considers HSDPA 3G with voice and data simultaneously. :D
Re: How is it working for ATT?
I'm not sure about sales, but working for the network has gotten worse since we became one company. Health benefits suck! We also have no incentives, company sponsored events, and it's rumored that we'll loose our great vacation package next year. They've really got to step it up on our end...
Re: How is it working for ATT?
Retail, BMG, or Network?
Re: T-Mobile coming to the Carolinas
Not in the carolinas, buddy. ALL AT&T Wireless netwotk assets went to Suncom in the Carolinas. There was NO intergration done what so ever! So, AT&T Mobility and AT&T Wireless in terms of network in the Carolinas were NOT the same. Do some research, you'll find I'm correct.
Suncom used AT&T Wireless' network until the buyout, then it became their network. Suncom never owned thier on network in the Carolinas before the buyout.
Re: T-Mobile coming to the Carolinas
:D You must be slow. Triton PCS operates on the old AT&T Wireless network, not AT&T Mobility. I guess I'm done debating this with you. When you become a telecom engineer and learn how the telecom industry works, we'll talk again.
Re: T-Mobile coming to the Carolinas
Lol! That's actually apart of the Georgia market, not the Carolina's. I know because I used to handle roaming LACS in the Carolina's for Cingular/AT&T. Those site are on the SC/GA line and apart of the GA market.
Maybe you should get your facts straight and know who you're talking to before you spout nonsense! T-.Mobile has NO spectrum in the Carolinas until the complete the merger with Suncom. Which is AT&T Wireless' old terrible network. T-Mobile has a lot ...
Re: T-Mobile coming to the Carolinas
you do know that there are no t-mobile towers in the caronilas right now. they use a roaming agreement. the suncom towers will be the only t-mobile network until they build more towers.
Re: How many months?
What's the point of great coverage on a carrier that can't turn a profit? Do you really think that giving away the world to your customers will save them?
It didn't work for AT&T Wireless and it won't save Sprint. They are a dying carrier. Get your cheap deals while you can! :-)
Re: How many months?
Yeah, I think they were talking about a real Blackberry with new a UI and HSPDA, not CDMA. Plus, sprint SUCKS balls!!
Re: Release Dates......Seen by Email from Rep
yep. :D
Re: Release Dates......Seen by Email from Rep
at&t has canceled the device. not SEMC.
Re: UPDATE.........This is great
you're wrong, promise you that! :D
k850 has been officially been canceled.
don't be surprised if you see n95 and other n-series phones later this year.
Re: Release Dates......Seen by Email from Rep
sony, k850 was canceled.
Re: im confused!
simple, at&t sells more blackberrys than any other company. RIM likes them.
Re: Why buy the tilt
i love my 8925. great clarity on 2G AND 3G. i've never had an issue with it.
Re: dropped calls
Yep, last time I checked additional family talk lines were $9.99
Re: dropped calls
lol, I used to be that we in college. It really depends on what area you are in. Around here in NC, I only have an issue when I travel to the middle of nowhere. The best way to determine is the coverage viewer on the AT&T website.
Re: dropped calls
Of course. I've used them since 1998 when it was Bellsouth Mobility DCS here in the Carolinas. If you're using a Nokia, you'll have a great network experience. I tell people to avoid LG, Samsung, Motorola, & Palm on our network. Nokia, SE, Blackberry, HTC, etc all make great equipment that work well every where you use it, not just 850 markets.
Plus, I'm a network engineer for them. :D
Re: dropped calls
Not really what I meant. Nokia in general does well on both 850 & 1900. LG and Motorola perform better in 850 markets.
Re: dropped calls
NC is a 1900MHz only market. Certain phones will perform better on 850MHz in VA than 1900MHz in NC. Motorola and LG are perfect examples. I can drop 3 calls a day with my LG CU500 forced to GSM, but I switch to my SE K800 no dropped calls.
Re: HTC = Heavy Taiwanese Crap
LOL, I think Sony's are great as well. The UI is rock solid and battery life is wonderful. I've never had an issue with them either. :D
This phone combines two of my most favorite companies into one PDA! I'm in love!
Re: HTC = Heavy Taiwanese Crap
Huh? HTC has made the best Windows Mobile devices I've ever used! /;|
Re: There Is A God!!
SEMC is worth $700! I would pay that for a great 3G unlocked product from a great company.
There Is A God!!
Finally Sony delivers me the perfect PDA! I could do without the WM, but it's Sony Ericsson non the less. I'll buy it!! :D :D
Re: Again, no love for the U.S.!
Nah, just the ones I named that AT&T carries, lol! Samsung is ok now that they are UMTS. But I wouldn't wipe my butt with an LG or Motorola. By far, HTC and Blackberry make the best smartphones on the market for functionality. Nokia and SEMC make that best "dumbphones" on the market. You never should buy from second hand manufactures like CECT. Nokia would never burn you like that on an unlocked phone! :o
Re: Again, no love for the U.S.!
That's not "no love for the US", that's means that AT&T are more interested in LG, Samsung, & Motorola. You know, the garbage brands. I've have an unlocked SE k800 and love it! One of the best handsets I've every carried.
And what kind of unlocked phone crapped out in 2 weeks and wasn't under warranty?
Re: Again, no love for the U.S.!
what are you talking about? it says there will be a north american version with W-CDMA 850/1900. to me, that seems like love for the us. :?
Re: iPhone's been doing this for a while now...
i guess that depends on if you want a fashion phone or a real mans phone, lol! for me the iphone does SUCK!. no physical keyboard. built in battery. things i like having on my phone. plus no corp email is a HUGE deal breaker for me.
iphone fanboys are like lemmings following in one line all doing the same thing because they're told to!
Re: LOL!!!
You must not know much about the wireless industry? Motorola (excluding iden because it's dying) makes an inferior overpriced product that may last a year before they stop working. Every person I know that has had a motorola has had a problem with the device no matter what carrier they use it with. I have had 6 that all stopped working or glitched out.
Did you read the news brief? Why do you think that are losing money? ...
LOL!!!
Motorola sucks! Maybe they should wake up and build better products...
Re: PDAs on AT&T's Network
You really want to compare Sprint to AT&T or Verizon? Sprint is no longer the powerhouse it used to be. They used to have the coolest phones and features first. This is no longer the case.
The phones you mentioned, The Touch & Pearl 2, were both available in GSM first and anyone can buy buy one unlocked and use them on AT&Ts network. AT&T just elected not to carry them, but that's but beauty of GSM. You can buy ...
Re: 3G
Typical...
Re: Whats the point?
Actually, I just glanced at the article, I haven't read it. I very rarely get excited about WM anything. OS too glitchy. I carry the 8925 for work. If I had my way I would carry nothing but Sony Ericsson, :D
