As much as I dislike Verizon and Sprint and T-Mo, all of the carriers need to band together and squash this company without mercy. 8)

Welcome to the best 8) To answer your first question, usually you have to wait till 75% of your contract is up (if I'm not mistaken), but it is true that the longer you wait, the better the discount. You also get more discounts if you're on a more expensive plan. I recently upgraded to a BlackBerry Curve, and I only paid $150 after rebates. Why? Because I waited for about 30 months (despite the fact I had bought several ...

I agree. It says it's longer in GSM mode, so I guess users who don't have access to a charger all day need to figure out a way to lock calls to the GSM network :P

The Networx Universal contract is an Indefinite Delivery — Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a potential value of $20 billion over the next 10 years and allows AT&T to provide a full range of network and communications services to federal government ...

Some government employees might have sprint-nextel phones paid for by the government, but you can't use that to say that the government only used sprint.

It wasn't SBC or AT&T jobs that were outsourced. It was part of Bellsouth's customer service. Anyway I forgot when they were coming back by, but I think it was December of this year? It's somewhere in the press release

Dear Eric,

I love Cingular. And I am one to bash other carriers, and point and laugh when others are asking to use my phone because they have no service. Why do I have Cingular? Because they have the best coverage in my area, and through my experiences, they have been the best service provider. I have gone through almost every single provider there is (except Tmo), and Cingular offered me the best service, handsets, and features. But I am a ...

Welcome back, depechemode82 8) They have a large selection, and I've used almost every single phone on there, but I'll give you a list of phones that I've either had or used extensively, and found to be worth it: - Motorola Razr V3i or V3r. I currently have a V3i, but I bought it unlocked and it doesn't have iTunes. It's the most solid phone I've ever had. It's taken a bit of a beating, and my abuse. And by ...

I don't own either, but I've gotten to use both pretty extensively. They're both good, but I'd take the Treo over the 8525. Why? The Treo is lighter, and you can really tell the difference. Although they're relatively the same size, the Treo feels nicer when you're holding it. One note though: If you're going to be doing A LOT of typing, I suggest the 8525. The keyboard on the Treo is fine, even for long messages, but the ...

I agree with Mela774. Some of their phones are crap, but then again, every phone manufacturer has a crappy phone somewhere along the line. I've had plenty of Motorolas, as well as phones from other manufacturers, and Motorola had given me the most solid phones. Sure, I've had a solid Nokia and SE, but so far my V3i has been the best. I didn't pick it because it was a RAZR, or thin, or whatever fashion statement it makes. ...

I think it's a pretty good idea for someone like me, who has their entire family and friends using AT&T as a provider for both wireless and wireline service. The only downside is in the fine print: "AT&T Unity wireless plans do not include Rollover minutes." Until they do include Rollover, I'll just use the 1,517 Rollover minutes I have to call my house :P

I'm an Apple fan and Anti-VZW, because of my history with them. I love Cingular and hold them high, because they're the best carrier I've ever had, and they have the best coverage where I live (and then some). I don't think EDGE sucks, but it isn't 3G. I agree with those who are saying that it's a flaw that the phone doesn't have 3G. I'd prefer 3G, but I really don't use the internet on my phone. I can say I'm almost certain that eventually Apple will release an iPhone with 3G. In the mean time, perhaps Cingular will offer some kind of tethered WiFi plan with an internet one? For example, when you're in range of a ...

A) You shouldn't be browsing the internet if you're driving, especially on a highway B) Sure, having no wifi walking down the street won't help you, but that's where EDGE kicks in. It's not like the phone limits your internet connection to somewhere where there's wifi

I agree. They built Cingular to be recognized nationwide and be a common name and now it is. To start that cycle over again would be pointless. Plus, I like "Cingular" better than AT&T or AT&T(whatever) 8)
