Latest info. from moto says the bootloader WILL be locked.
It's a shame, I was going to get this phone instead of the HTC EVO 3D (in a contest of 3D screen vs. GSM capabilities, the GSM capabilities are more important). However, now that I hear the bootloader will be locked, I am definitely getting the EVO instead. Moto's bloatware/blurware is particularly egregious and not being able to run stock Android on this device is deal breaker for me (as I am sure for many others).
Stupid, self-inflicted wounds like ...
Re: Why Upgrade?
Correction: it has 26% more resolution than the original DX. (got confused because the new HTC's coming out have 35% more resolution than current HTC models but the Moto's resolution was slightly higher on last year's models to begin with and therefore the increase is less.)
Re: Why Upgrade?
The DX2's display has 35% higher resolution than the DX. I think that's pretty significant. For me, it means when surfing the web, you can fit more text on a single page and thus do less scrolling.
Re: Jaw Dropping
It's not fair to compare this as-of-yet unreleased phone to the year-old EVO. It WOULD be fair to compare it to the EVO 3D which will be released at about the same time. The EVO 3D out-specs this phone: It has a 3D display and more on-board memory. Otherwise, they are two very similar phones (and from the same manufacturer).
In Cingular's defense...
You've got to remember that what Cingular was doing was trying to get people off the TDMA system and onto GSM. I don't blame them for not wanting to put any more money into the archeological specimen which is their TDMA system.
When are these idiots going to come out with a GSM RAZR that supports EDGE?
What's wrong with this company?
Re: great alternative
You know, this phone has THE LEAST amount of discounts on it than any other T-Mobile phone so the price of it can only go down in the future.
Re: just got it...awsome phone
what?! just do a search for
Nokia 6131
then sort by price, higest to lowest (you'll have to press on price twice, because first you'll get lowest to highest). Believe me, you'll find them. They're there and there's plenty of them.
Re: Damn.
Yeah, the Toronto seller was forced to drop his price and relist when the $305 offer showed up.
Ahhh, ain't capitalism great?!
Re: Damn.
The same user on eBay earlier had a batch of 10 he was selling for 359 shipped.
I guess when he saw how quickly he sold out, he upp'ed the price when he listed another batch of 10.
Geez! Why can't they just make these things quadband?
Get with the program Samsung!
Re: T-MOBILE
I think you are getting quite confused...
The 6136 is a completely different phone.
The 6136 does have a non-UMA version (which looks almost exactly like it but has bluetooth instead of wlan)... it's the 6125.
But the 6131/6126 is another phone altogether (different screens, different size, differnt body than the 6136 and 6125 have).
Re: T-MOBILE
This phone does not have UMA. You are confusing it with the 6136 which is a different phone.
So far there is no indication that T-Mobile USA will be carrying this phone.
Re: Nokia RAZR!
Yes this phone is thicker than the RAZR, BUT at the same time it is narrower and shorter than the RAZR.
Except for it's thiness, it's only so-so
Only VGA camera, not a quadband, no expandable memory...
Re: Why did Nokia remove the FM radio feature from the 6126?
Yes, sometimes. It's a nice feature to have. They haven't taken it out of any other made-for-the-USA phones they make (as compared to the equivalent European model) so I wonder why they took it out of this one? It looks like both models (the 6131 and 6126) have received FCC approval so I don't think they did it for regulatory reasons.
Why did Nokia remove the FM radio feature from the 6126?
No one cares about IR anyway nowadays but no FM radio, why?
Geez, still no EDGE!
When will this company get with the program?
oh, oh!
Let's make it even easier to commit fraud!
Nice! Finally a quadband from LG.
It's about time.
Re: wat carrier?
No North American GSM operator is going to carry this phone since it doesn't have GSM 850Mhz.
Same thing with the lack of EDGE on these phones
due to junk components. No surprise.
What are the frequencies?
What are the GSM frequencies this thing operates on?
T609 - FM reciever? A2DP? When?
Three questions regarding the T609... is there an FM radio receiver in this handset?
Does the phone support music transmission over BT (i.e. A2DP)?
Third question... any idea when T-Mobile might start selling this phone?
