This phone blows iPhone 4S out of the water....

in the Article: Review: Samsung Galaxy S III for Sprint forum

:D I can't say enough about this phone. I sold my Apple iPhone 4S after a geek friend told me the advantages of the new Galaxy 3S, and he was right. The phones clarity, antenna reception, intuition and speed doesnt come close to the iphone. The only negative thing is that its speech recognition is horrific! Samsung must come up with better software to fix it. Since I don't use speech recognition I could ...

SIMPLE MOBILE - ABSOLUTELY FRAUD - REPORTED TO TX AG'S CONSUMER FRAUD
Aug 2, 2012, 11:12 PM
in the Article: Simple Mobile Lowers Price forum

Do not switch your service nor utilize this company, as they're committing consumer fraud. I've taken it to the TX Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Division. The company says Unlimited Internet, Unlimited Data, Unlimited Text Messaging and Unlimited Voice - FALSE. If you go over what Simple Mobile considers 'excessive use' your either cut off completely, or asked to pay another overage fee. If you don't they cut you off. No where on any of ...

I think the Motorola i1 on Boost's IDEN network will be a major failure. Boost Mobile didn't think this out well enough. Boost Mobile uses the old Nextel iDen network, which creates challenges for modern data-centric smartphones. iDen is the SLOWEST of the national mobile data networks, crawling along at sub-dialup speeds. So Boost made some compromises. They've set the default browser to Opera Mini, which compresses pages by up to 90 percent and, as a result, ...

Boost Mobile Blackberry 8330 - SUPER PHONE & VALUE
May 24, 2010, 5:49 PM
in the Boost forum

After a number of months using the Boost Mobile Blackberry 8330 I can report back no dropped calls, superior clarity in phone calls/conversations along with excellent service. With Unlimited & Free 411 Calls this is a great value for anyone needing dependable phone service. I was with AT&T for 6 years and glad I switched to Boost Mobile. Especially even more now since AT&T has implemented a $325.00 Early Termination Fee for customers which break their AT&T contracts beginning on ...

Re: Back with Boost Mobile
Apr 18, 2010, 8:41 PM
in the Boost forum

I left AT&T Wireless (Austin,TX) due to the horrific network issues (lost calls, call congestion, network busy, etc) and purchased the Blackberry 8330 from Boost Mobile at BestBuy. I've now had Boost Mobile for 2 months and have had excellent service (no dropped calls, nor missed calls). For $60.00 a month (or $64.95 with tax per month) this is the best value out there. Strong reception, reliable coverage and dependability is what I was looking for ...

I heard from one of the Boost Mobile Rep's that Sprint (parent company of Boost) reportedly is 'thinking' about allowing the Blackberry Tour 9630 to be utilize on Boost's $60 Monthly Unlimited Plan (that is, if you own your own hardware and are not in a contract with Sprint). The Boost Rep says that Boost Mobile may eventually sell the Tour 9630 down the road but at the full retail price. Boost has been so successful ...

Sprint indeed changed my plan to a new contract start date once I changed it. Everyone I spoke to has told me they do this. It happened to me, not sure about if they do it to everyone but it certainly appears to be the case. God Im glad to be gone from Sprint. What a horrific experience. :D

AT&T Welcomes Back Customers (Without Fees)
Dec 25, 2009, 11:16 AM
in the AT&T forum

I thought I'd let everyone know, that if you're like me and leave AT&T (for network issues/problems) to go to Sprint well watch-out! Sprint has buried in their fine print not only Government Surcharges (which is normal for any carrier to charge) but Sprint Regulatory Surcharges (which under law, Sprint can charge - its pure profit and runs $13-$19 per month per subscriber, depending upon your plan). I signed up, got my bill and saw these fine ...

1/1/10 OPPORTUNITY TO CANCEL YOUR SPRINT ACCT WITHOUT ETF
Dec 25, 2009, 11:11 AM
in the Sprint forum

Thanks Merry Christmas. I took my 2 numbers and ported them over to AT&T Wireless. They're not much better but they don't charge AT&T Regular Surcharges but only Government Surcharges, plus I get a large discount having my service with them. They're network coverage and problems with dropping calls disturbs me, but AT&T is allowing me to come back and go month-to-month (since I was with them 8 years and just canceled within 50 days). ...

Well I canceled both my 2 lines today. I had a Customer Retention Specialist on the line. I asked for her name and Agent Number, then read her the terms and conditions and told her I wanted to cancel without Early Termination Penalty, she said that she had duly noted such, and that i would not be penalized. That I should port both my lines to another carrier on/or before 30 days otherwise i would be ...

1/1/10 OPPORTUNITY TO CANCEL YOUR SPRINT ACCT WITHOUT ETF

Sprint has notified me by statement that it’s raising its fee in the form of the Regulatory Charge. This fee will increase to $0.40 per line, along with a $4.99 account fee for those that have spending limits. The increases in charges are effective on January 1, 2010, and both constitute a material adverse change in my wireless agreement with Sprint. Per Sprints Terms/Conditions: "If a change we make to the Agreement is material and has a ...

If you read your wireless contract carefully, carriers will document something known as a "material adverse change." In other words, if your carrier raises pricing of any kind during the term of your agreement (a "material adverse change") you're entitled to cancel your line without paying an early termination fee (ETF). LOL I'm not a fanboy, I'm a disgruntled AT&T customer who has been defrauded of dependable wireless and data telephone service by AT&T. I sure hope Verizon kicks the pants off AT&T in 2010 with its new 4G/WiMax services as AT&T has ripped off consumers long enough. Perhaps you - yourself work for AT&T?

AT&T WIRELESS SERVICE SAGGING IN AUSTIN TX
Oct 3, 2009, 10:03 PM
in the AT&T forum

I've been an AT&T Wireless customer for 7 years, and in the past year AT&T wireless has become undependable, lost and failed calls constantly in the Austin area. AT&T says they've fixed it but a technician for AT&T tells me they've yet to implement the 800 MHZ here and won't have it up and operational until end of 1st quarter 2010. People really need to raise hell with AT&T for such bad service. I've gone over to Boost ...

I'm currently a Boost Mobile customer. I also have AT&T Wireless. I switched to Boost Mobile almost 7 months ago, as AT&T's service here in the Central TX area had diminished horribly, calls were being lost/failed/voice quality horrific. During the past 7 months, my Boost Mobile has never had a failed call, voice quality is crisp and clear, texting has always worked great. For $50.00, including all government taxes - this is a service people ...

4G REQUIRES NEW PHONES FOR SERVICE ON SPRINT
Sep 13, 2009, 11:35 PM
in the Sprint forum

I was at the Sprint store today, the manager tells me that the new 4G and 4G Wimax (which will be turned on in the Austin, TX area and other cities soon) will require an individual to purchase new Sprint phones in order to get 4G and/or 4G Wimax. This also includes current Sprint Broadband Cards as well. Current phones on 3G can not be upgraded by firmware for 3G. I was told that such new hardware would ...

I agree. AT&T to Officially Mandate Data Plans for All Smartphones tells you how greedy they are, and they're charging consumers for 3G, when in most markets calls are being dropped like dead flies, call failures are significant, and trying to listen to music on 3G sometimes won't work due to lack of bandwidth? Why is it consumers are not raising hell and class action lawsuits not prevailing against AT&T right now? What's wrong with people ...

AT&T Wireless Defrauding Consumers with 3G & Dependable Service
Aug 20, 2009, 7:22 AM

AT&T has been hiding the fact for almost a year they have issues involving their 3G service throughout the United States. Here in Austin, TX AT&T couldn't provide adequate service during the South by Southwest Concert so concert goers were without service majority of the time, and AT&T still to date is unable to provide reliable 3G Services to consumers which are paying for this service. Constant dropped calls, call failed notices, calls going straight to voice mail, ...

I ordered my i465 Motorola about 1 1/2 months ago from Boost Mobile. I'm a 2-3 hour per day heavy user. The phone easily charges within 30-45 minutes. I do quite a bit of texting as well. Texting goes through quickly and promptly. The battery life for this phone is excellent, the voice clarity is excellent and ability to easily text using the keyboard is excellent. I don't much care for the Boost Internet ...

BOOST MOBILE - NOW OFFERING SOMETHING MORE - SERVICE & SELECTION
Jun 23, 2009, 11:40 PM
in the Boost forum

I must admit, Boost Mobile started-out horrific, by not having enough customer service representatives available to handle the huge demand mandated by new and current customers. It appears Boost Mobile got the message when many customers began to leave their service and go elsewhere. Immediately Boost hired enough customer service representatives to handle the new customer demands and growth and Boost Mobile also fixed their texting issue (another growth issue Boost Mobile wasn't ready to take on). ...

MAJOR BOOST MOBILE ISSUES IN TEXAS & BAD SERVICE
Mar 3, 2009, 11:30 PM
in the Boost forum

Ok someone kick me for praising Boost only to find out later after 5 hours of no phone service, and 4 phone calls to Boost Customer Service to only be hung up on and nothing resolved. Boost Customer Service I guess is like Sprint PCS - horrible. One must wait 20-30 minutes each time to reach a Customer Rep, only to be hung up on when connected. So this evening I ported my phone from Boost ...

BOOST MOBILE SMS TEXT MESSAGING - ISSUES IN TEXAS
Mar 3, 2009, 6:15 AM
in the Boost forum

I've been using Boost Mobile's $50 unlimited plan for a short while and must say its clarity and connection (no dropped calls) is refreshing, but Boost has a major issue in Texas and maybe throughout the USA - its SMS Text Messaging Network is NOT RELIABLE NOR DEPENDABLE, and sometimes just does not work. I've reported it to Boost Mobile many times, they can't tell me why its not working. Everyone who is having issues needs to ...

Re: Leaving AT&T --- (Texas Dropped Calls Horrific)
Mar 3, 2009, 6:09 AM
in the AT&T forum

I'm in the same boat as you with regards to AT&T. As you know, AT&T has had horrific problems in Texas with its 2G & 3G network. It refuses to upgrade its network, thus everyone in Central Texas is experiencing record number of dropped calls. I spoke with a AT&T manager and was told AT&T employees call it DEATH STAR. AT&T is very aware of their issues but continue to not want to upgrade things ...

AT&T's DIRTY LITTLE SECRET IN TEXAS
Mar 3, 2009, 6:05 AM
in the AT&T forum

Everyone who has a Blackberry or iPhone in Texas, especially in the Austin and Central Texas area are experiencing horrific number of dropped calls, busy signals, constant congestation notices on their phones. This is affecting all AT&T phones I'm told, 2.5g and 3g. AT&T employees and managers call it: DEATH STAR. AT&T reportedly has had this issue now for 3-5 months, but is too cheap to go in and upgrade their network so if you're ...

in the Article: T-Mobile Expands $50 Unlimited Plan Across the U.S. forum

T-mobile isn't doing any favors for its 'loyal' customers as BOOST MOBILE already is beating T-Mobile by not only offering UNLIMITED nationwide calling but also eating the state & local government taxes, so that no bill goes over $50 a month - beat that T-Mobile!

Re: Black Berry 8350i for boost mobile

Im in Austin, TX. I spoke with a BOOST channel manager at a bestbuy store recently, he says BOOST has a new thinner and more savy Motorola phone coming by end of February for subscribers to buy but when I asked him about Blackberry, he says that's a ways off in the future.

I just left Cricket Wireless as they're having data and internet issues here in Austin, TX. Why pay $50 a month for just Austin coverage usage when you can pay $50 a month for unlimited nationwide travel and not be tied down to just a small coverage area. BOOST works better than Cricket in Austin TX

I've had AT&T Wireless for 5 years now, but since September 2008 everyone I know in Austin has experienced dropped calls, fast busy signals, congestation, calls going straight to voice mail and not to the phone, plus other problems. I've complained to AT&T many times, and get the same answer 'we are upgrading our towers'. Yeah whatever. How long can AT&T say theyre upgrading their towers? Forcing you over to AT&T
Feb 6, 2008, 6:46 PM

I just spoke with a AT&T Customer Service Supervisor. It appears CellularOne users who are on the cheaper plans ($50/$99) a month will be kept on a old legacy system until their contracts run out. This prevents CellularOne users to upgrade to a AT&T phone which offers data packages, or if their sim cards go bad good luck as AT&T says they dont offer CellularOne sim cards and will require customers to switch over to more expensive ...

CellularOne (now AT&T) keeping cheap users on old legacy system.
Feb 6, 2008, 6:42 PM
in the Cellular One / Dobson forum

I spoke with a Supervisor today regarding why I couldn't buy myself a AT&T Blackberry and use it on the network since CellularOne has switched over to AT&T. The Supervisor says that those CellularOne customers who are on special plans through CellularOne ($50 or $99.95 unlimited plans) can't upgrade (not even buy their own phone)and use it on the AT&T network because AT&T is keeping CellularOne user's on their OLD LEGACY system. AT&T hopes that by not ...
