My Next Phone
Feb 21, 2013, 12:39 PM

This phone is even better than the One X+ I use now. My S3 sits on my desk as a spare, as the One X+ screen and build quality blows it away. I can't wait for release.

Got It And Sold It Within An Hour

in the Samsung Galaxy S III (AT&T) forum

I got the phone, turned it on and realized I HATE the AMOLED screen. The whites have a blueish tint. I sold it within an hour and am going to stay with my One X. On the plus side, the phone has the best fit and finish of any Samsung I have owned. The screen size is good and the phone fits my hand well. To each his/her own with phone preferences.

Make sure AT&T provisions your sim card correctly and you have the correct data plan. My data has no issues and I don't live in a LTE area.

Could be only single core because: 1. Cost 2. Battery life due to larger screen From what I have been reading it really hasn't hurt performance.

Done. I have a new phone with the new firmware and 3g is no problem. This phone is even faster than the first one I had.

Yes, it would. You would have Java support, cut and paste and reception in areas that the Iphone can only dream of. :D

I own this phone. No fix on line or over the air as yet. I get 3g in CA, so I can wait.

For those looking for a great phone with great features, look no further. It has the newest Symbian firmware and a huge screen. It is so fast to browse on ATT 3g network. Now I have no need to bring my laptop with me.

AFAIK the only way to upgrade to A2DP is to debrand the phone. A2DP works on my unbranded N75.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you, you need to make sure you are searching all your "C" drive. When it asks you where to look make sure it is the "C" (or whatever drive your music is stored on) drive, not just the individual music files.

Change the itunes to mp3 format and it will find them. I use tunebite, but there are others out there.

On the unbranded sets, when you go into menu>tools>network you can set the band to dual, umts or gsm. Dual band means that it will switch from 3g to gsm when there is no 3g signal. If you are not using data I would switch the phone to gsm only. From what I have read if you switch the phone to gsm, you will get better battery life. 3g is reported to drain the battery quicker. I haven't had ...

This Phone DOESN'T Suck!
Nov 8, 2007, 3:00 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

I was one of the early adopters of this phone and it has been the best phone I have ever had. I have had only one time that the battery died and that was the first week I had it. Since than battery life has improved greatly. If you leave the Bluetooth on all the time (like I do), use dual band (like I do), use a lot of data (like I do), leave the packet data on all ...

Yes, it will. The only service I can't get to work is MobiTV. I can use Media Net, Cingular Video and my POP3 email.

It will not vibrate while charging. You may have to go into different menus to set it up than you were use to on the branded version. Pennyless10, I do know what I am talking about. I have unbranded more than one branded phone and have enjoyed the phones much more than the branded version. Take a look at HowardForums.com for more information on de-branding.

Unbranding has to do with the firmware. After unbranding the firmware you can set the phone for dual-band, for only 3g or only GSM. You will get A2DP and not be restricted on the length of ringtones. You will gain RAM space and the menus seem to run faster. I love my unbranded model.

Nemesis Service Suite. It allows you to change the phone's product code. I already have an unbranded phone, so I don't know what you will lose, but I know you will not be able to use MobiTV.

Unbranding Your N75 Is Possible!
Jul 19, 2007, 11:21 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

You can now unbrand your N75. You must unlock your phone before starting. You will lose MobiTV and have to reinstall and reset some of your programs, but unbranding increases your RAM to about 35mb and activates A2DP. Use at your own risk, because there is no going back. http://www.howardforums.com/showpost .php?p=9572173&postcount=70

Joseph, I have been an bystander in your ramblings on this forum for a long time, but your crap of attacking people has to stop. DO YOUR RESEARCH! AT&T's 3g is 850/1900. The 6110 supports European 2100 3g. Here are the frequencies from Nokia: WCDMA 2100 HSDPA and dual transfer mode (DTM) GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 It will get EDGE speeds only in the US!

Not yet. Until Nokia releases a firmware update it can't be done. I found out you can't play MobiTV on the unbranded version. It gives me a certificate error when I try to download it. Oh well, it is their loss.

Try taking the battery out for at least 1/2 hour. It should come back to life then.

Unbranded N75 Can Do Everything A Branded Model Can

in the Nokia N75 forum

For those who are reluctant to buy an unbranded N75 because they assumed they can't do MMS, texting, internet or Cingular Video on the unbranded unit I can assure you they can. I had to do a little googling, but I can do everything a branded model can, without all the AT&T bloatware. It takes a little time, but it is worth it.

Re: Buying the N75 unlocked

IMO it won't be sold unlocked/unbranded. The 3G is Cingular's, which means that people on T-mobile won't be able to use the 3G part. Plus, the firmware, from what I have seen, is chocked full of Cingular's crapware, including a music download service. If the N75 is not out by May and the 6290 is, I will buy that phone instead.

What OS are you using? If you have Vista you will probably have to get a new Bluetooth dongle, of if you have a Widcomm based dongle, you can update the driver via Broadcom.com's website. I had to buy a new dongle after upgrading to Vista. BlueSoleil is not Vista compatible yet.

Re: HOW DO I CONVERT MP3'S TO WMA TO USE AS RINGTONES?
Jan 26, 2007, 9:30 PM
in the Nokia 6126 / 6131 / 6133 forum

You have to have the DRM removed to use any song as a ringtone on the 6133. Nokia PC suite will not even transfer a song to the phone that is right protected. Raw wmas are rights protected, but converting them to mp3s takes the rights off. Converting the mp3s to wmas is necessary to transfer the songs to phone to play. Go to download.com and when you look for the free mp3 to wma converter it will have the ...

in the Nokia 6126 / 6131 / 6133 forum

Nokia PC Suite will only send DRM unprotected wmas to the phone. Here is what you need to do to use mp3s as ringtones on the 6133: 1. Go to download.com and look for free software to convert mp3s to wmas. They must have the DRM removed to work. 2. After you convert the mp3s to wmas you can use Nokia PC Suite to transfer the song. Make sure the song is the wma one, no the mp3 or it ...

Jan 14, 2007, 12:23 AM
in the Nokia 6126 / 6131 / 6133 forum

You missed my point. Yes, you can unlock the 6133 to use a different sim card with them, but if you can't change the MMS, text or voicemail settings it is a waste of money to buy one, except to use on T-mobile. You can sell them unlocked, but that phone, unless flashed to the 6131's firmware, will not be able to be used to its full capabilities on another carrier. T-mobile blocks changing the settings. Yes, they will work ...
