Re: Is Sprint getting the HP Pre 3 ?

I for one am tired of waiting. Sprint or HP needs to let a rumor slip to generate some buzz. The EPIC or rumored iphone might be my next phone... I've had me Pre since day one.... 2 yrs ago. Let's go HP! I will jump ship if something doesn't happen soon. The most loyal won't stay loyal forever... In the mobile world, ur getting close @ 25 months.

The phone can do it. If you are with Sprint you will have to sign up for a PAM plan. Phone as Modem (PAM). They start at $60/mth. The Power Vision plan will not allow you.

You can backup as a matter of syncing via bluetooth for calendar and contacts not any other settings, rintones or content. My 1st battery was defective and would also only last 24hrs. Sprint swapped it for me and my new battery now gets at least 3 days with average use. I don't work for Sprint (I sell drugs :D ). Unless you are a business user, I can't imagine paying $60 either. I would be willing to wager ...

You can bluetooth MP3s over w/o phone tools. You have to surf Sprint site more and you will find their PAM plans. They start at $60/mth. The vision plans will let you surf the web and watch TV and all that other stuff but it will not let you use your Phone As Modem (PAM).

Syncing is easy if you buy Moto phone tools (check ebay). Sprint & moto help desk will tell you it doesn't work or it is not supported, but it does work. It works best with bluetooth. I have a hard time with a USB cable. My laptop has bluetooth so mine works great. ringtones without doing crazy text messaging, pictures, MP3s, Outlook - no problem. If you want to use your phone as a modem you have to buy a PAM ...

Download Motorola Phone tools v4.3.6. If you have a bluetooth PC, it works better than a cable connection. Sprint will not tell you that this works & Motorola will not support it. If you call Motorola and ask them if it will work, they will tell you that they know it has been done. It's the "PC" answer between Moto & Sprint...

Sync Calendar, Contacts and load ringtones for Sprint
Dec 21, 2006, 6:43 PM
in the Motorola KRZR K1m forum

I bought a copy of Motorola Phone tools v4.3.6c on ebay. It took a while to update to the 2 latest updates. Motorola doesn't officially support this for Sprint however they were kind enough to spend an hour on the phone with me to get it to work with a cable or bluetooth. The Sprint version is very picky - it takes time but it will work. You can sync Outlook contacts and calendar easily. You can also upload ringtones ...

I think I'm the only Sprint user here. I've used them for years. They have the best coverage where I live. Their pricing plans are good but their phone selections stink. Their web site is a total joke. Customer service has always been good at least at corporate store. The big box stores su ck big time - they have no clue what they are doing. I'm still was an i300 waiting for the K1m if it syncs w/Outlook.
