Mp3 can be set as ringtones - but it would take a while and you would have to have them on the card - so no formatting or changing the placement.
Transfering Mp3 to SD card does work - thats the way you have to do it anyways because the music essentials kit converts to WMA's anyways. It will work as long as they are NOT protected.

The official response to that is this - because it helps with the quality - what is what they said. However I think it has to do with the large quantity of ppl buying songs which are all WMA format. And the licensing information that everyone is using at this time of Pay for Play music. So techincally if someone buys any music from any online store verizon or otherwise they can play the music on ...

Ok i know the answer to your questions and hopefully to deter a lawsuit you sue happy people. You can have your vcast and pay for it to. Heres the deal - on your 8100 press menu + o - enter in the service code 000000 go down to 11. Music Settings - and reenable the Mp3 on the device. Now give that a try and see what you think now?
