Re: Switch ESN between V3c and Smartphone on same plan?
May 27, 2006, 9:40 PM
in the Verizon forum

No, because the premium network access feature needs to be removed. Online doesn't know to automatically remove the features needed or added, so it fails. If you go from a VCast phone to Vcast phone it will work. If you go from a Non-Vcast phone to a Non-Vcast phone it will work. If you go from a Non-Vcast to a Vcast phone it will fail (vice versa). If you try to switch two phones around ...

Well, you could always call customer service and let them do it. But they are going to charge you a $20 processing fee. Which is crap. I've never charged it. I never will. Pray you get a rep that believes in customer service when you call into switch it out.

I've always referred to the "car kit" message as the blue screen of death for LG phones  99 times out of a 100 there's nothing you can do for those phones. I've never heard of a store giving the $50 fru option because it's usually water or physical damage

Re: help with decision on getting a blackberry
May 26, 2006, 4:33 PM
in the Verizon forum

The only problem with AIM and VZW is that each message counts as a text message. So if you're not subscribed to a text package, you will be billed $.10 per message. Even if you have the unl blackberry data feature. You would think if you paid $44.99 for an unlimited data feature, it would allow you to text your heart out.

Re: What Type???

Digital vs. Tri-Mode Verizon Wireless is migrating toward All-Digital handsets and will have no Tri-Mode handsets available in the future. All-Digital phones have a slight performance improvement over Tri-Mode equipment, according to our Network Performance Analysis reports. The VZW Network is CDMA Digital with some areas of PCS overlay. Areas that still support Analog are quickly disappearing. Use VZMap to determine what type of coverage is available throughout the network. All-Digital Handsets Operate on: 800 mhz CDMA Digital 1900 ...

Re: Problem with Motorola Q

All PDAs have a feature called key guard. It allows the keypad to be locked after being on a call for a certain about of time. It's automatically enabled so that you don't accidentally press buttons while on the phone. Bluetooth is not necessary to use this handset or any other PDA for that matter.

Re: 2 year anniversary of number portability.......1 year of non pain in the @..porting
May 24, 2006, 9:41 PM
in the Verizon forum

Porting has actually become very simple over the past couple years. You can call customer service and request that they port your number in from any provider. Usually within 10-15 minutes, the port is complete and your number is active on your new carrier. Unless you have nextel, then you're just screwed. Because nextel "volunteers" all customers for a feature called 'number guard'. It stops any provider from porting the number out. Before ...

What are area do you live in? If you live in the Northeast or the South, e-mail me and i will have my manager update the account so that you may upgrade online. Customer Service should be able to change the "upgrade date" if you live farther than 60 miles from a VZW store. Basically, in the account there is an indicator that is separate from the upgrade date. So, you can be eligible for ...

The reason why i've heard we don't offer %25 off PDAs ... because if you took %25 off full retail of a TREO, the price would be lower than the 2 year pricing. Same with all PDAs.

$299 is the 2 yr pricing. $419 is the full retail. That's a fact. Any VZW rep can look it up in infomanager.

Here's the situation: If you are not eligible for an upgrade and you do not have insurance on the phone, Customer Service can approve %25 full retail of a handset. PDAs are excluded. But this is classified as a smartphone. Can someone call *611 and ask if the %25 off will be applicable to this handset. I just want to see what the representative that you get tells you. Thank you.

I honestly don't see V710 settlement customers getting the Q in time. All due to the fact that i don't believe the 15 WFG applies to the V710 settlement customers. I'll be honest, i don't have a clue what the fine print of this lawsuit because customer service has been advised to stay away from any questions, comments, and the settlement all together.

Cingular: They have the same single rate plans as VZW, however they have roll over. Their family share plans are better because they have a $59.99 price plan. VZW used to have a $59.99 price plan, however vzw stopped offering early last year. Now VZW least expensive family share price plan is $69.99. Sprint: Nothing really good to say about sprint ... Except they do have a $29.99 price plan. Their nights start at ...

Yes, the $5 mobile web package does use your peak usage. Free nights and weekends do apply to the mobile web. So after 9:01pm it's free. If you have the $15 V-cast package - then it includes unlimited air time usage for mobile web.

Re: Lets pretend
May 17, 2006, 9:44 PM
in the Verizon forum

VZW would lose money if they sold the device at $99. Compare the phones, It's pretty simple to see why the handset is more expensive (2 yr price wise). Why the full retail price is $419? Because for $499 (2yr pricing) you can get a 700w. The mot Q is not meant to be a PDA. It was designed to be a phone first (hints the terminology 'smartphone').

This phone is going to be the next Razr. With the 2 yr contract price being $299 and the full retail being $419, everybody and their brother is going to have this phone.

Call customer service and have them set up a Password on the account. All accounts have a password field in our billing system. Whereas, we must verify the password if there is a password in that field.
