8O Seriously? That phone is usually too much for most adults to handle. Let alone teenagers. I bet they would kick your bill thru the ROOF with web access and text messaging. Plus the initial cost of the phone--and you definitely want to get the insurance because teenagers are notorious phone abusers. No offense to your kids personally. But most phones these days have a little calendar in them and can do text ...

My favorite was the lady who kept bringing her Treo 600 in because it wouldn't turn on. She came back 3 times with the same problem and the rep finally asked her when was the last time she charged it. She was like, "Oh I need to charge it? Like every day?" 8O I think customers should have to take a quiz before they get a phone.

Okay, this wasn't me, but an old coworker of mine did this and it was pretty funny. He answered the phone and a lady asked "is this Marie Callendar's?" He said yes, and took her whole to-go order. Then he took her name, told her "that'll be 35.68 and we should have that ready in about 15 to 20 minutes!" We were all dying laughing, but I felt kinda bad for this poor lady. ...

Weeeellll. . .I quit last year to run a marathon (not to brag or anything) but when I did smoke, it was Marlboro Lights all the way. I started on Reds, switched to lights, and occasionally cheated on lights with Milds. Me and my girlfriends went thru a thing after high school for awhile where we were smoking Virginia Slims Ultraslim 120 Menthols. Trust me, NOBODY will bum those off of you. If they are a 4 ...

Okay, my turn for the funny story. I'm a tech, so I don't usually walk out on the sales floor unless there is physical force involved. But I had to go out to talk to one of the sales reps, and they had a little bit of a line. So I'm showing my rep something on the computer and this guy jumps out of line and walks to the middle of the store. He waves ...

Here are my favorite little kid in the store stories: One day we had a lady waiting up front to be helped, and she had a baby with her. I think the baby was about a year old, maybe a little more. At the time we had some chairs set up against the wall, and she was sitting in the chair. So her baby gets sick and throws up a HUGE spot onto the carpet. Only ...

Two words: Proprietary Information. Makes it sound all scary and stuff, undertones of "legalities" with a side of "lawsuit." Just tell them they can't look because the systems are all secret and stuff and only employees are supposed to have access. It IS annoying though.

I vote for the bank. I think your hours would be more regular--and a regular schedule is more kid-friendly. Are you looking at a commission job with the cell company? Commission is also scary because you can't be sure how much you're going to make every month. I would think the bank would be a steadier income. Another thing to consider is the upward mobility opportunities in each job? If you wanted to work your ...

I feel you. . . I had a customer once who was convinced that phones could "sweat" and that's how the liquid got inside his wife's phone. I'm not talking a couple drops, the phone was still SOAKED inside. He printed out a stack of papers from the internet about how if you leave your phone overnight in your car in MONTANA, you might end up with condensation inside. (This is San Diego, people.) Meanwhile, ...

I always joke about our RTFM Policy when people come in asking how to pair up their Bluetooth headset. Most of the time it's not even a model that we sell. How am I supposed to know the frickin PIN? Support your local phone technician: Go for broke!

Weirdest thing you have seen on/in/done to a phone

Hi all! I'm new here, but I must say thanks for many hours of amusement. Just when I thought I had the stupidest customers, somebody has got me beat. :) So I've been dying to share my own weird and wacky phone experiences and I thought I'd start with these. Here are the strange things I have seen phones covered in: 1. Tar. Customer either dropped the phone in the bucket of tar, ...
