I agree the restrictions on phones have been unacceptable. These functions are being unlocked on most new model phones. I have the enV and can transfer files via blutooth and can listen to music with stereo bluetooth as well. I live in Madison, Wisconsin and there is no T-Mobile here at all. They have a long way to go to build themselves up to being in 50-60 million customer range. CDMA services will have a major advantage over GSM ...

What I was refering to was in the 80s when AT$T was broken up into the bells. No more bells just AT$T thus back together. Any idea on what percentage of all land lines in the US AT&T currently owns?? It's the majority I know that much. Anybody up for a good game of Monopoly?

Your right why have competition at all. Just let good'ol ma bell take care of everything for us. That’s America for you....bigger is always better. Lets have one store (Wal-Mart) for all our products. Let’s have one company for all out telecom needs. You’re lucky we've got these losers in government right now to approve all these corporate mergers. Why break a company up in the first place if you’re just going to sit there and let all the ...

Cingular more than 59.8 million subscribers Verizon as of January 2007, the company served a total of 57 million When I started selling it was more like... Cingular 63 million Verizon 48 million ....and that was just a year ago. They only passed Verizon because of the purchase of AT&T Wireless. Most of those customers have left or are leaving and Verizon is clearly benefiting. It will happen sooner than you think. :-)...

$$Money$$ spent on rebranding is money that could (and should) be spent improving overall network coverage and quality. Not that I'm complaining since I sell Verizon and work right next to a Cingular store. :D Ma Bell has put all her pieces back together and looks to dominate the US again. I hope that at least on the cellular side Verizon shall re-take #1 status within the next year. It's the network!!! :P Can't wait til Monday! Cheers AT&T! ...

Nokia made or Pantech made???
Jan 8, 2007, 5:18 PM
in the Nokia 2365i / 2366i forum

I was under the impression that Nokia was no longer manufacturing CDMA handsets. 6215i and 6315i I know are made by Pantech but have Nokia's name on them. I'm confused by phone because it looks much more like a "real" nokia than the previous models mentioned. I sell Verizon service and the first one of these that arrived was DOA. Not generally a good sign when new phones come in. The ones we got that worked seem to ...

Yes...I say never mess with the subscription and always go with the unlimited. I downloaded "Asphalt Urban GT 2 3D" and I am really impressed with it. The game itself is pretty repetitive but graphics are sweet and overall it's fun to play. Also because it is such a complex game it does need to connect to the tower every so often to dowload cars and tracks but with the enV its very fast. Great game that's well worth ...

If your computer is not blutooth enabled then go to Ebay and search "bluetooth dongle" These come with a driver CD and plug into a USB slot on your computer. This enables your phone to connect to your computer wirelessly and you can send files both ways. It's a good idea to also have a memory card since the phone's internal memory doesn't have much space. I bought a 1 GB micro SD for $36.95 including shipping on Ebay and ...

Plantronics Dicovery 655 Cardo Scala 700 BlueAnt Wireless X3 micro These are three highly rated bluetooths I think might be better suited for the enV. Go to Cnet.com and read some reviews. I have heard this complaint a lot from those who are using Motorola bluetooths especially with non Motorola phones. Ebay should have the cheapest prices online. I use Plantronics MX203S-X1S Stereo Mobile Headset and really like it. It's a corded stereo headset but switching between music and phone calls is a ...

Why no Alltel /;| ? They seemed to me to be one of the biggest players as far as non national providers. And yet no AWS purchases? Not even a newly created small company to help them buy it cheaper. To me that looks like they don't want to spend any of the companies revenue on spectrum possibly to maintain current company value? Perhaps Verizon is plaaning on buying more than just spectrum. On Verizon's website this phone is listed as the 3450. I'm an indirect agent and I've only heard it refered to as the 3400. Anyone know if their is any difference between these two? Why call it the 3450 insted of 3400 if their is no difference? :?

Nokia is the #1 reason I'd rather use GSM over CDMA. Regardless of if they are sold in the states of not, buying them unlocked from Europe is easy enough. Great reception and hundreds of styles to fit almost anyone’s taste is what makes them the top phone maker. Plus they don't change their charger hookup every year like other manufactures. The problem is the GSM service in the US. Sigh  .

Right, I think it's a case where the Nokia name helps sell this phone. The name Pantech would not help because most people have never heard of it. People like buying phones from brands they recognize and trust. Everyone wins in this deal: Verizon gets money for Nokia branding it; Nokia gets millions of CDMA handsets on the market with thier name that they didn't have to manufacture themselves; and Pantech sells more phones than if it had ...

I would like to know more on why you think CDMA is superior to GSM. I sell Verizon and I can assure you that the whole world uses GSM because it is a better and more modernized cell service. The US may have better CDMA coverage than GSM but that doesn't make it a better technology. ESN numbers vs. Sim Cards come on that's all of it right there!! Sprint had warped your mind! :o

Aug 17, 2006, 4:55 PM
in the Samsung SGH-D900 / Black Carbon forum

I sell Verizon and I'd be the first to admit D900 is better in every way over the chocolate. GSM vs CDMA is no contest. Once the US gets better with its GSM coverage there will be no reason to go with a CDMA phone. I was excited to see a "gsm like" slider coming to Verizon but its been heavily "verizonized" and it's already losing some of its hype. As soon a T-Mobile shows up in my area ...

Yes I can't tell you how many times I've said this to people. Whenever I tell them the price on a phone they say they've seen it cheaper online  . All I can tell them is it will end up costing you lots of pain and anguish when something goes wrong with the phone and you can't take it anywhere. Phones are fine to buy online but contracts on the other hand are a whole different story!

A couple things here.... T-Mobile is owned by Deutsche Telekom and will never get bought out by a big guy cause they are a big guy. Alltel and USCC however are fair game. Lastly I hope people know to never buy a phone that starts with letters PN. PN-215, PN 230, etc. all junk! :D Pantech is no good :P

Why do they want to? First of all, Vodafone just got out of Japan and their stockholders made off nicely. Verizon has been very profitable for them and looks to be in the future as well. Verizon is the one sweating from the new Ma Bell build up and owning Vodafone's 45% stake would put them in a much better position to compete. I still think Vodafone would sell but only at a very inflated price that I'm sure ...

If it's not about death, destruction, or war then their not interested. Fascists actually have a lot in common with terrorists. You got to pay for spying on thousands of people somehow. With the power the executive branch holds over all of us I think they will charge whatever they want for whatever they want. Who will stop it? Congress…nope. The Supreme Court…nope. The people? HA! In true American form few will fight against any injustice brought forth from Bushy boy and his gang of cronies.
