The network that I knew and loved has been gone for 10 years - Verizon's analog network. Sound quality was great in comparison to digital, and nothing could compete with it's coverage footprint. VoLTE sound quality is stellar compared to garbage 1x voice, and I personally have had great performance with VoLTE. Throughout the lifespan of 1x\EVDO, Verizon has improved coverage and filled in gaps, much like they're doing with LTE, but data was always ...

Cell Site Activation - Upstate NY

I know there are many factors that go into determining this, but what's the average amount of time it takes for a carrier to turn up a new cell site? A new 4 panel array went up over a month ago in the Albany NY area, and no service yet from it. The only carrier in the area to use 4 panels per cell (2 long, 2 short) has been VZW due to their 850 & 1900mhz service. This ...

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. I only wonder how much louder your b*^ching would be if they stuck with a closed system for years to come. Don't like closed CDMA devices? Go get an iphone

Is there a delay from the time you say something to when you hear it again? If not, that's the sidetone that everyone is mentioning. It exists on almost all landlines too, and seems to help the shouting issue with cell phones. If there is a delay, and you hear it quite often, I'd exchange the phone for another v3c.

Obex stands for Object Exchange. This is just a way to transfer files and calendar information between your computer and your phone. Using your phone in a non-evdo area will drain the battery because the phone will constantly be searching for an evdo signal. There is a ton of information in these forums if you want more info on obex, and if you want to find out how to turn off evdo using a hidden system ...

I haven't used the 8100, so I can't give an honest opinion on whether or not you should return it. Best thing to do would be to try out the razr for the 15 days vzw gives you. -Battery life is great for a minimal user. I use mine more than you stated above and have never had a problem (even in a non-evdo area). -I've never experienced an echo in the phone, but you might be ...

"Normal" Ringtones for the V3C
Apr 7, 2006, 8:25 PM
in the Motorola RAZR V3c forum

Hi - just wondering if anyone has (in file format for the v3c) ringtones such as the moto "continental" or "classic" ringtone? These are the standard Nextel ringers, but I believe they also come on the E815 and the V3. Basically I'm just looking for something a little more business like...has anyone else looking for something similar found any good sites out there? Thanks a lot!

Is it true that VZ Navigator is not currently available through Get it Now on that phone? Also, how's the sound quality (earpiece and speakerphone)?
