This is simpler? How? By the smartphone access fee going from $15 to $20? By eliminating plans above 12GB so they can charge gross amounts for overages? I wish we had competition is what I was saying but T-Mobile & Sprint are unfortunately not really nationwide carriers so we are at the mercy of Verizon & ATT. Between the two of those, we have half a cell carrier/network available here. Albeit an ultra pricey ...

That is my biggest question too? 12GB max for a family is pathetic. Hello overages. I cannot wait until T-Mobile & Sprint finally decide to build out their puny networks to match (or try to at least) Verizon's network footprint at some point!

I'm in Montana & in a NY minute would switch to T-Mobile or Sprint. Problem is, neither has so much as one tower in our state & several surrounding states are very poorly covered by them also. AT&T is OK here but by and far, Verizon is the best. Shame they can't stop the arrogance & have more respect for their customers. 12GB's as the maximum amount of data you can buy for a family ...

With these 2 combined you come with 1/2 a viable nationwide network. Still not one tower here in Montana between the two & absolutely dismal coverage in surrounding states (& most of the west) as well. Maybe if they offer a heckuva price & you live in a large city but would be hard pressed to think they would beat Cricket or MetroPCS in cities. Total Wireless (Verizon) even being on 3G only with 2 lines ...

Netflix was not being extorted by Time Warner, Comcast, etc. for "fast lanes"? Hit google & get back to me. Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, etc don't gouge their customers with price & policies for years? ISP's have not been lying to us on speeds for years? I will have to admit that Comcast in Albuquerque was the ONLY time I've ever received the speed I was sold & paid for. AT&T in Chicago, Comcast in ...

Boy Brad I have to admit you are one helluva good conservative! Nice to talk with you, I mean that. If only everyone could be so thoughtful in their positions. Europe actually does have more land area than the U.S. does. It seems Europe has a lot more selection of carriers too. Here in Montana T-Mobile & Sprint are both non-existent. We have only AT&T & Verizon to choose from. With regards ...

Everything you've read shows it will lead to excess work for mega-corporations? I'd think it would be less work. They could close down their "extort Netflix & Amazon Prime" Departments right away. Maybe when they sell say 30Mbps, they should DELIVER 30Mbps?? If the new oversight requires them to deliver what they claim, so be it. Lower your promised speed or do what you need to be honest. As far as "advancement of ...

I don't have a political "side" buddy. I voted for Clinton, Bush, Kerry, Obama & Romney to show what "side" I'm on. Power grab to police/monitor mega-corporations running roughshod over us consumers & weaker companies? Forcing Netflix to pay an extortion fee for a "fast lane" or be throttled out of existence seems ethical to you? Selling me 50Mbps internet speed and delivering 3Mbps? There is a time & place for government oversight. ...

I am a recovering Republican so before I get totally assaulted by the Fixed News, insHANITY or mega-dildo (that could be ditto I dunno?) crowd please take the time to independently read through what happened here. Cut the party line & freely think for yourselves & likely see this is a big win for consumers. I know it's preached the government "can never do anything right & shouldn't be involved in anything at all" (except constant costly, ...

I'm not sure these government agencies are directly related to one party or another most times just as one police department is one party or another or one fire department is one or another, etc. I do think a company like Cable One selling me 50Mbps internet speed, then delivering 5Mbps maximum at all times or my current provider Charter selling me 60Mbps then delivering an average of 20-25Mbps need "a bit of oversight" & a club over ...

Yeah, let's just privatize the military, police, fire department, etc......

This notion that "government oversight" anywhere is an obstruction to freedom is just nuts. The mere fact that a monster anti-consumer (in their actions!) corporation like Verizon is fiercely against it makes me lean for it. I don't have a dog in this politically, DESPISE both parties but I also find it pathetic that the repubelicons & dummycraps almost always have to "fall in" to party line groupthink rather then having original thoughts/opinions on issues like this. ...

I know in the east everyone has mostly good coverage among the Big 4 but out west I found T-Mobile & Sprint to be mostly pathetic. Take a look at Boost Mobiles (Sprint native) & Simple Mobiles (T-Mobile native) coverage map out west & it is laughably bad coverage. Not just Montana but Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, North & South Dakota, etc. They are nowhere near in the same league as Verizon ...

I did many speed tests around Helena, Missoula, Butte & Billings while traveling (kept one line with Cricket & ported 2 to AT&T) & I can tell you that in Montana at least, the difference is barely noticeable. Usually 1-2Mbps.

I mean really Verizon. Shammo must be at it again. ALL the other 3 main companies are offering MORE data for LESS money but these dufuses. AT&T is a lock to pass then as the nation's largest carrier with their owned prepaid division Cricket & their killer deals (5 lines each with unlimited & 2.5GB high speed each for $100 flat or $55 for 20GB & also especially being installed in all new GM vehicles!) but ...

I'm not sure I agree with the "loser" part lol (to each their own) but I seriously agree with you about the material used to build the phone. I use rugged, hybrid cases to protect my phone anywhere & could care less how "sexy" my PHONE is! I care about power, battery life, size & just overall the specs of the phone. I just ported OUT of Cricket in December to take advantage of AT&T's "Double-Data" Promotion. Got 30GB for my 2 lines instead of the 20GB I was getting with Cricket. Cost with AT&T was $130 with my wife's corporate discount & tax included (Montana is 2nd lowest in the nation with cell taxes) vs $110 with Cricket. Well now for $110 with Cricket I'll get 40GB of data over 2 lines so BACK TO CRICKET. ...

I have their credit card & I'm happy with it too. I find it amusing that with Windows market share growing a little that NOW they cancel an app. Before online banking's onslaught about 8-9 years ago I had a BOA account. I just can't see in 2015 being with them. No fee checking with no minimums, free checks mailed to you at no cost, interest or bonuses paid on all checking balances, mobile check ...

In total agreement with Andy. They are so smug & pompous especially that Fran Shammo. No etiquette or decorum from that guy or Verizon towards their customers.....& with AT&T to pass them & to become largest cell carrier this year (currently at 125M to 119M) Every new GM will be equipped with AT&T for data. That & AT&T's competitive policies, pricing & equally good customer service & a network that is nipping at VZW's heels ...

Bank of America...... in 2015?

I do love Windows 8.1 but I did not care for previous versions. Been an Android guy for years & years but just tired of the glitches & battery pulls to use Android seemingly regardless of phone (used different phones from just about every maker). My big question is with Capital One 360 & Discover Bank out there, WHO under age 40 would bank with a rip-off B&M like Bank of America or Chase in 2015?

Switched from Android 4.4 to Windows 8.1. I'd switch banks, Chase lol.

I switched from Windows Mobile to Android about a year after it came out. I thought it was fantastic...at first. I had just about every make you could imagine; Motorola, Samsung, LG, HTC, Huawei, ZTE, etc. I had a Galaxy Note 2, Huawei Ascend Mate 2, Motorola Razr M, LG Spectrum/L90, etc. I really began to hate the glitchy nature of Android. I wouldn't compare AT&T to Walmart or KIA LOL. T-Mobile & Sprint yes but not Big Blue. They are more like Nordstrom & Audi with whom Macy's & BMW DO compete. I find in Montana & Idaho & most of the Pacific Northwest AT&T smokes Verizon.

A wolf in sheep's clothing to me. There is the "out" to the ISP's the bulk of which are monopolies or duopolies (broadband & DSL). They just won't be able to "data manage" Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Prime.....well unless if maybe you subscribe to their silver TV package or above at $110+/month. I love the "nothing needs oversight ever & we need little or no government at all, companies will just do the right thing". ...
