I don't have the Cartoon edition, but I just got a regular Sidekick II. It is still in the 14 day return time, and I was planning on taking it back to get an MDA.

Yeah, I saw that, but when I visited the store, they told me that I could not do an upgrade with them because I have a New Orleans number and I'm living in Texas.
Also, they told me that I would have to pay up front but if I called then I could get it billed to me. (which would give me a little time to shuffle some more bills so I can pay it)

1 year Razr Upgrade
I called T-mo to see about getting information on a 1 year upgrade to a Razr phone. The person on the line informed me that they no longer allow 1 yr upgrades.
I tried to tell them that I was under the impression that they still did but just not via the website.
I really don't want to do a 2 year contract, simply for the reason that I am likely moving out of the country in that time period ...
Compatible generic charger
My Dad has the A650 and is visiting from out of town. When he got here he realized that he had forgotten his charger.
I picked up a generic one at Walgreens for him, but it does NOT specifically say that its compatible with the A650.
It IS however compatible with the A600, A620, A660, A670 and A680.
Doing a google search it looks like chargers that work with the A670 will work with the A650 but I'd like to make sure ...

Looks like as of today we're staying in Houston for the time being, but seriously, thank you so much for the feedback anyway - this is the kind of thing I like to find out before switching companies.
Altho Verizon is out of the question for me anyway..... my dad is on Verizon and while I love him dearly, there is NO way I want him to be able to call me free any time he ...

Ive been increasingy dissatisfied with their product line up.
They have practically nothing in the way of PDA's aside from Blackberry's (which contrary to what others may say - if that law suit is lost bye bye Blackberrys!)
My reception here in Houston has been rather spotty at best.
Also, they pretty much lost me during Katrina and Rita.

I've been with T-mobile for almost 3 years now and have in the last 6 mos to year become more and more dissatisfied with their service.
As a result I'm shopping around for a new cell company.
I have a few questions about plans and services.
1) Is it possible to do a 1 year contract directly thru Cingular or do you have to go to a reseller offering 1 year contracts?
2) If signing a 2 year contract, are you required to ...
2 year contract
Well, T-mobile has done what Ive been afraid they were going to do: they've gone over almost entirely to 2 year contracts on upgrades.
That pretty much kills my last reason to stay with them. Ive been increasingly dissatisfied with the service and especially the selection of phones.
