Got me? I know the handset and earpiece have to be "paired". Maybe this will help... http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/demo s/headsets/index.html

If you haven't figured it out, first record some voice tags to names in the address book. You can put in 25. Then hit the send button on the earpiece and say the name at the right time. Phone should dial the number. then hit the button to end the call. wella! Anyway, that how it works with my corded send/end button headset. - Dave

4. Yes you can answer calls with the folder closed by hitting the exterior silver right, top outside phone/camera icon labeled button 3. Shows name of caller not number..but this was tricky, for some reason it wouldn't recognize the name associated with a number that was in two listings. Easily fixed but phone was confused by either the w(wait) code at the end, the two numbers listed for two names, area code and 1 before the numbers or something. ...

Re: Nokia tech tells which MMC card to buy. Heads up DocB2.

I bought a 1GB card.Topran off ebay. The VZW 6256i DOES NOT have a media player for MP3's like the Metro PCS version I got to play with. A played with a friend's Metro PCS version and saw the media player which I'm missing in the menu. So, every MP3 tune requires opening the gallery back up and pressing play. It won't play songs continuosly. What a waste of card. The camera's pictures are just ...

I took my new VZW 6256i out to a fringe area na dtested it agianct the Nkia 3585i "wamart Wonder Phone" Basically the 3585 is a no color version of the VZW model (forgot the VZW model number?)and was sold as an Alltel prepaid, meaning it can lock on to lots of carriers the VZW version may get locked out of, due to a more picky PRL list. The 6256i was nearly as good as the 3585i ...

Battery Reference Info!

Excellent battery information! Lots more info at... Battery University http://www.batteryuniversity.co m/ "Lithium-ion is a low maintenance battery. No periodic discharge is needed and charging can be done at random. A random charge means that the battery does not need to be fully depleted before recharge. In fact, it is better to recharge before the battery gets too low. Full discharges put an unnecessary strain on the battery. A recharge on a partially charged battery does not cause memory because there is none." "...A ...

Good luck... Getting an oddball phone with a limited release may involve problems down the road. Few other users to share info with. Difficulty getting an exchange should a problem arise. Little CS knowledge (if that's possible) or difficulty getting accessories or software updates. There's a reason why this model is so hard to get and why CS is reluctant to send one out. I don't think CS was trying to deny the phone simply out of some power trip ...

Audiovox 9900 has been pushed back to June 15, or so reported a fairly reliable, VZW employee. Hope they didn't sacrifice performance for all the display/video clip /camera, bells and whistles. Oh please.... give us a Nokia, with the same great performance as the 3595i models, in a flip or at least premium build version. - David

Re: Is anyone replacing phones on a regular basis?

Yes, Some of the worst Verizon phones offered. The LGs may be the best bet. Maybe Samsung? I've had very good luck with the Japanese Toshibas. AVX 4500, 9500. Going strong after years. The UI may be a little cumbersome. Have a 9500 stockpile...3. Wouldn't know what to recommend these days as a standout handset? The OP needs to read some of the reviews and recommendations. Let's hope next crop of releases (due starting around June 15th, including Audiovox ...

Re: CHARGING CRADLE for 8910/9950/9900?? I'm pissed

The problem is using an aftermarket extended battery/back cover. The OEM extended batteries work fine with the desktop charger. The aftermarket batteries just created to many incompatibility problems to work smoothly on a day to day basis, in my experience. A quick click into the desktop charger is very convenient. And the aftermarket batteries just didn't have anywhere near the claimed power output. I tore out all the guts and cut, ground and epoxied, to make a strong hole though ...

I couldn't agree more about the importance of a charging cradle! As a mater of fact, just bought another charging cradle for my Audiovox 9500 today!. One got altered and used as a car holder. One I use to charge and hold my phone securely on the table everyday. Also, the charger preserves the life span of the bottom charge port comtacts, since the port is not used to charge, so is not subjected to strain or wear. Also, ...

The T720 is proof that marketing runs the show at Verizon. They needed lots of color phones for Christmas and rushed it to market. That color screen sucked the life out of a tiny battery, so they cut back on power output...and there you go a terrible cellphone... T 720. I often take several phones out camping/hiking, or wherever I can find a fringe area and make some test calls to 611. IMO the Motorolas are highly overated, although they do ...

Verizon Plans, the Big Picture
Oct 17, 2003, 4:27 AM
in the Verizon forum

A welcome to everyone on Phonescoop's new forum. Here's to new beginnings! Anyone else notice how Verizon has been gradually creating two very different plans? A digital "house brand" AC, plan that seems much like the SPCS model while maintaining an all inclusive National Single Rate. I'm wondering if it's only high roaming partner costs (like US Cellular in OR) which precludes Free Roam coverage in AC the PRL? This two tiered system, where Verizon not only offers customers a very competitive ...
