From what I remember, AT&T was required to honor the existing roaming agreements in Puerto Rico for 18 months after the purchase. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're mistaken on that point. On a side note, does anyone have an idea for completion time on the tower integration in the Great Lakes Area? I can't wait to get better signal in my area since we are primarily in centennials footprint.

I hopes this process gets done sooner than later. Anyone got ideas on total completion time for Great Lakes Region? http://www.indianasnewscenter.com/ news/local/69400532.html

And centennial controls 40% of the wireless market there, which is 1/3 of their revenue.

I'm in Central Michigan. Near Mount Pleasant. Very heavily covered by Centennials 850 MHz. Hard to find a place where centennial doesn't work around here. AT&T on the other hand. I have an extremely hard time connecting to their towers at my home and keep getting constantly tossed back and forth between the good signal of Centennial's 850 MHz and the poor signal of AT&T's 1900 MHz in our town, causing dropped calls ALL the time.

I just read that AT&T might back out due to DOJ forcing to them to give up Puerto Rico, which would leave me screwed with two lines that are almost completely useless. SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!! http://blogs.wsj.com/deals/2009/08/26/for -att-silence-on-centennial-deal-isnt-golden/

Any new news on this topic? I wish they would get it over with so they can implement 850 Mhz in our area.

Yeah, I'm still having the problem. I keep getting told different tales of "How the towers are pending integration", or "The local found an issue and fixed it", or "the service in your area is only Marginal at best", well if it is only marginal then why isn't AT&T doing something about it to make it better? This is your home area... I've had the IRDB update performed, checked the IMEI on the account for both of ...

Centennial is a regional GSM provider in the great lakes states and Puerto Rico and some other southern states. AT&T proposed a purchase of them in November of last year and they are waiting on the FCC to finalize the transaction.

I have had a case open with business technical support since the 25th and was told I would get a call back by today but have not heard anything. Unfortunately there is no way to tell it to prioritize towers without unlocking the phone from AT&T. I do have 3g turned off but that doesn't seem to make a difference. At this point I am stuck between paying for a phone that doesn't work at my home or ...

After using the Field Test on the iPhone, I've found that within my home I have full signal on a tower that is 850 MHz and for some reason it wants to connect back to a 1900 MHz tower that I get little to no signal at all. When connected to either tower, the Carrier name says AT&T. Any advice?

I had Cingular for about 5 years during and after college , at which point I was asked to find another provider because I lived outside the home area. No big Deal, I have always had great service (4-5 bars all the time) in my home with 850 MHz so I switched over to centennial and never had a problem with service there either, except customer service, but that is a completely different story. So my ...

I've been as nice as I could be on the phone. And I'm sick of being told "I'll have to put in another request for you." I've Filed 6 requests for these phones. And if it weren't for me bringing it to cingulars attention of my off network usage then they would've kept paying it for awhile. They never sent me a letter. I've never lived in home area, and no one can blame me for the companies ...

Well, seeing how they wouldn't give me the code unless I was out of contract and they told me directly that they were going to cancel my account if I didn't because of Excessive Off Network usage. Your idea sounds a little selfish of the company in my opinion when they told me to do something and then they just turn around and F@#$ me in the a$$ when I do what they ask me to. I ...

I've placed 5 requests each for both of the phones on my account after terminating the account. I've got a w600i and a z500a. I've waited the time I was told for each request before placing a new one and I've still never received a single code for my w600i and I've received 3 codes for the z500a and none of them have worked. :( I asked the last guy what was going to happen if ...

I, however, do like the phone and do not have to option right now to upgrade. You wouldn't have that same problem with the SLVR because it isn't Edge capable. The problem actually started with my s710a and I returned it for warranty exchange and received the w600i in its place, which has the same problem.

Well let's see. 1. The camera's on both of these phones are the same, although the screen on the W600i is a little smaller than the S710a. 2. The W600i has 256MB of built-in memory (up to 80 songs), which can be transferred with the software that comes with the phone. 3. The S710a has expandable memory (only up to 128Mb memory stick Duo) and you can only use the proprietary head sets, which there aren't many to choose from. 4. ...

I said Nay to both of those and called back the next day and asked about getting a W600i and the kind lady said "Sure, I don't see why not" without any hesitation. The only thing is that the ...
