I think everyone here is taking all this the wrong way. As a customer I don't expect ANYTHING free from anyone....what I DO expect is for Verizon to treat me the same as the customer next to me.... Right on Avgjoe....nice to see that at least one person here, other then me, doesn't work for the cell phone companies or are fanboys. Yesterday I went to the Verizon store, and I know I will get hammered for saying this....but the place reminded me of a used car lot....LOL

Unfortunately....in everyday life in 2008 I consider cell phones a necessity.

Plus....my cable company doesn't load my tv with things I don't need or block features my tv comes with.

I see your points....but my cable company works with any tv on the market, not just the ones they decide are good enough for me....Plus they also have the same policies for everyone, not different ones if the manager likes you or not.

As a long time customer myself I can say I see your points...but you also have to see ours....When I got my first cell phone, I got it from GTE Mobilnet. GTE was way more customer friendly than Verizon is, everyone I know who had GTE back then still miss that company.....plus, in my opinion, the phones were a lot better back then for people like me who really just want to talk, but also a lot more ...

I have been reading the reviews, but people love or hate each phone, and for different reasons...so it's kind of hard to really gauge the ratings. For some reason I can't seem to get used to the idea of a Casio phone, although their watches are pretty good quality...at least until they decided to start making them in China. Got it....thanks :) How do you feel about the Dare and the Voyager?.....for some reason I really like the Voyager, is the ENVY2 better? I have always gone for Motorola phones in the past but always end up regretting my choice. :(

I need a phone with excellent reception and battery life, good camera...I don't care about all the other bells and whistles, but it's kind of cool for entertainment. :lol: Which phone should I upgrade to?

That is what they did....but they absorbed the $50 fee.....I never asked for this so I guess I got lucky :)

Hold on a second......first off, yes I had forgotten....I got a $50 rebate (this was a year ago)....which the Verizon store online was also offering at the moment. Second...I made it clear what Costco I had the problem with. Foster City, Ca. Third...I talked to the Costco manager and he acted like a snought nosed kid who didn't care. If the Costco manager doesn't care what more can I do?

Thanks for the info...I will. Actually, starting 1/1/07 Costco changed their return policies. Fry's Electronics now has a more consumer friendly policy, and you don't need to be a member to buy there. I once returned something there with a missing piece, which I lost :oops: and all they did was deduct 12% of my purchase price and gave me a refund....I asked the Costco manager to do that for me yesterday, since they didn't just ...

One good reason.....because the last two phones I got from the Verizon store were awful and only lasted 8-10 months, I work from home so 90% of the time the phone is sitting at my desk anyways.. and they still didn't last, now that is something that makes me go "hmmmmmmmmm"). So I wanted the warranty Costco offered.

hold on a second....they promised a to exchange it anytime within the 2 years.....and I never asked for a better/more expensive phone...I just wanted the same phone, just like Verizon is giving me. Where did you get all this spoiled speech.....and yes, in other countries people also go hungry...but we are lucky to live in this country.... :)

yes.....and I would also wish 3rd party companies wouldn't promise to do things just to get the sale.....and then leave you out in the cold when it's time to deliver. :(

I have been a Verizon wireless customer for over 10 years and a Costco customer over 12 years. Last year I bought 2 cell phones from the "2 man" operation inside Costco wherehouses, because they told me if anything should happen they would replace my cell phones "no questions asked". I bought them there because the last 2 cell phones I had gotten from Verizon weren't very dependable Mad ....Now, A year later I am having problems with my cell phones draining ...

Yeah?...well I had my wife try both yesterday and she liked the 8300 better, because of the feel. By the way....I think the problems I have been having with Verizon have been that my local Verizon store is a piece of sh!t. They always claim they can do something over the phone, but then they never do....Is there anyway I can make a formal complaint about them?

Last time I called Verizon....the Rep told me to get the Razr. so basically I am stuck between the Razr and the 8300.....unless there is gonna be another good phone coming out before October 1st.

To make it clear......the phones I have had problems with have and are still under warranty. I think I personally blame Verizon because, in my opinion, they care more about the cameras and what music videos the phones play then the actual call quality. I am 35 years old, sorry but I don't need cool ring tones and music videos. I want a small, good phone, that can receive calls when I go to the mountains ...

Thanks for the input....I see your point, after talking with customer service, and them being nice, I decided to stay and upgrade my phone in October. Unfortunately the service I used to get from GTE is gone and buried. :( .....and Cell phones are a necessity these days so there is not much of a choice. I would love to get inputs on phones...... :)

I never mention the fact about the 10 years, and I have never gotten or expect a freebie in life whatsoever, I have always paid my way. I have always been nice to them, even when they haven't been nice to me :). No...I am up for a normal upgrade on 10/1/06.....they were going to work with me, but then I called them to upgrade and the story changed. The Nokia is a good phone, but the hindge is broken and it drops calls. I don't mind paying more, but when I bought the Nokia I went in the store and asked them for a good "talking" phone....I have an Ipod and digital camera, don't need that stuff.....they couldn't tell me ...

I am sorry...I am new to posting here. I have only been reading the forum for a while. Wasn't sure where to post it. The phones I had were the v265 first and now the Nokia 6256i. :(

thanks for the input...I am really sorry to have to leave Verizon after so many years, but the customer service is just rediculous....I know call quality is more important, but the last 2 phones have been awful and they don't offer me any way to fix it, and when they do, they give me a new story everytime I call.

After having my 2 last phones be a piece of sh!t....and having verizon tell me they would upgrade them a month early, and then tell me I have to pay the 1 year renewal (considering I want the 2 year contract) 8O , for I don't know what reason. After 10 years of being a loyal customer, I have decided to switch carriers. Any suggestions on who to switch to?

I am leaning towards the V3M because I love blue tooth. I also found out that if I upgrade at Costco..they guaranty the phone for 2 years...that means that for any reason I can go in and pick another one (important in my opinion because most phones I have had started acting up after the 15 day period Verizon offers). They don't offer the 8300 at Costco though.

Thanks again for the info.....I also want the BT feature, and I know I have the 15 day trial, but my experience has been that phones act up after the trial period.. :lol: :lol:

hey guys...I have my new every 2 coming up on 10/1 and I would like to get opinions on what phone to get.....I have an Ipod and a Digital camera, I don't mind having nice options but what I want the most is good reception,sound quality and bluetooth. I imagined that, but the only reason I said it is because of all the history I have had of bad customer service. To be blunt, I really don't care what their policies are....I have owned a customer service business myself, for the past 10 years and I know how to tell when a company just doesn't give a sh!t anymore...either because of bad management or they have so many customers that losing a few won't matter, they consider it ...
