If there were a close alternative, I would dump Samsung. Bixby SUCKS!!! Stop already.

No indicator LED?!?! What would the regressive resoning behind that decision?

Not only that but no aftermarket apps are able to give any type of successful app to indicate a message or missed call.

Is anyone having problems with AT&T in Glendale, CA??? 3rd day no with NO service at home. Going to Verizon to switch if it's not fixed today.

Best Customer Service, no question!

in the AT&T forum

I've been with AT&T for a little over a year. Prior to spending a year with Sprint, 2 years with AT&T and 12 years with Verizon. The 3 plus years with AT&T has been the absolute best for customer service. The only lapse was when I went to Sprint for the first EVO. Sprint customer service was horrible. AT&T is the absolute best, service, customer service and overall experience.

That's great except not many use BBM, if they don't have a BB!!!

Making calls via WiFi, if no cell service available??? Galaxy S2?
Oct 4, 2011, 10:57 AM
in the AT&T forum

Prior to switching to AT&T I had the HTC EVO with Sprint. If there was no cell signal I was able to make phone calls if I could get on WiFi. This was a great feature. What is this called? Is the new Galaxy S2 capable of doing this?

Galaxy S2 or Blackberry Torch 9810???
Oct 3, 2011, 9:05 PM
in the AT&T forum

Switched back to AT&T a few weeks ago and currently using the Torch 9810, which is an excellent device. I've had it for a little less than a week. I really like it...super fast...great web browser...email is great and I LOVE the blinking LED indicating message or missed call this is something I was told that the Galaxy does not have. The main thing I like about the galaxy is the FM radio, but that is not a deal ...

I am unable to find any adjustment to keep them on. I'm talking about the Menu, Home, Return and Search fixed buttons at the bottom of the device. Is there ANY way to adjust the time that they stay on or make them stay on with the screen??? This is very frustrating. Any advice. Thank you, E

Coming from Sprint, the Evo. Picked up the Thrill Saturday and although the phone is great, I have some issues that may be a deal killer. 1) Under the contacts there is a section for notes. I have some contacts with several paragraphs of notes. However with the Thrill the note section is limited to a certain amount of characters. I'm losing access to important information. 2)The bottom row of hardware buttons does not stay light up for very long ...

Thanks for the advice. I think it was clearly stated that I am leaving. And I didn't mean to indicate I have been with Sprint for a long time, but in such a SHORT time it has gone DOWN hill and the customer service is horrible. I pay a lot for service and would expect a little courtesy. I am simply letting others, who may be thinking of switching to Sprint, that they may want to re-think that decision.

I've been with Sprint since the HTC Evo, but their customer service SUCKS...and now the coverage is getting worse. Several people that I know in my area; the small city of LOS ANGELES, have shared similar problems. Sprint coverage is getting worse!!!

Leaving Sprint for AT&T. Should I wait for any new phone or more of the same?
Aug 26, 2011, 8:28 PM

Was with AT&T for a couple years. Left for Sprint due to the HTC EVO. Over the past few weeks Sprint coverage has gotten noticeably worse so I’m heading back to AT&T. All the Android phones seem pretty much the same, anything on the horizon that is worth waiting for? I’m not interested in the iphone 5,6 or 7. Thanks,

Well, it's almost a year since I left Verizon and I can say I'm STILL SO HAPPPPPPPYYYYYYY. AT&T is great and I never looked back. Verizon Reps; happy new year and hope you have a back up plan...LOL. AT&T service is great and the customer service is excellent... LOVE IT and no regrets.

Are you kidding me!? Verizon left it out. The reps will try to justify it by saying VZW coverage is so amazing that you don't need it. They fail to realize that in such a great business device, you NEED wifi so you can talk on the phone and use wife at the same time. And, YES, there are places that VZW does not reach and it would be nice to use hotel WiFI.

Well, it's been over 6 months and most of the Verizon reps here on Phonescoop said I'd be back to Verizon by now. Guess what NOT A CHANCE!!! I think Verizon went out twice this week in Los Angeles. Anyway, AT&T is fine, service is great...dropped 0 calls the past two weeks. The phones are sooooo much better than VZW..."we test them...that's why it takes so long" SEE YA VZW. Apr 9, 2009, 5:53 PM

Because when it switches from 3g to Edge or whatever service, it drops the call. You have to be able to turn off 3g. With the Iphone 3g, you can turn it off. But with the BB Bold, you can't for some reason AT&T disable the switch capabilities. You may be in an area that it does not have to switch back and forth, but I'm in Los Angeles and 3g is not everywhere so when it loses 3g, ...

The Bold is out and has been with AT&T for almost a year. It's a great phone. Has WiFi and really works great. If you get the one from AT&T you have to unlock it so you can turn off the 3g.

Just want to give you an update. Since I unlocked my BB Bold, it is spectacular. I have almost no dropped calls...at least no more than Verizon and the phone is great. All the VZW reps...thanks for your BS and your wishfull thinking that I'd be back, but it's been over 3 months and I have no complaints.

So far so good since I disable the 3g... The battery life has doubled for the most part. Usueally I have to plug it in the truck, but I'm testing it and it just lost the first little bar today. With the 3g, it would've been down 2 at least. I watched CNN video and it streamed fine...not sure the big appeal of 3g, but I'll switch back when I need internet fast.

Should I unlcok/unbrand my Bold to disable the 3g?
Mar 22, 2009, 11:27 PM
in the AT&T forum

I've had the Bold for a couple months and love the phone, however it drops calls when switching from 3g to edge or the other one. It is a known issue and with the Iphone you can disable the 3g, which helps solve the dropped call issue a great deal. However I can't disable 3g on the Bold, but I have somebody who will unlock and unbrand, which will enable me to switch the 3g off. This sounds like ...

in the BlackBerry Bold 9000 forum

I think they all do it...3g is not everywhere so it has to do it if 3g is not available. A big problem is when it switched when you're on a call and it drops the call...AT&T is aware of this and I think they are working on a fix.

I'll ask what I want...get a life and don't worry about what I ask. It would be nice to know if Verizon will get a phone that really has what people want....what I want. Are you a Verizon employee? If you are, I would suggest your boss tell not to defend your company because you do not sound very intelligent. If you are not an employee, I wonder why you are such a Verizon activist. Is it like being on a team or something, are you a Verizon cheerleader? Actually, my brother and a few others are going to switch because it is actually his work and where he lives that AT&T has service and Verizon does not, unless he stands out side his back porch. Which is not an option in the winter. So there are a few more. As AT&T gets better, VZW should think about doing something about their BS. And include the features we need and want. The only reason I would not consider coming back is because of Morons like you. The service works great and the phone is the best availabe for business and such. I really do get coverage in spots in Connecticut and SoCal that I did not get with VZW.

I will not switch back to Verizon...AT&T actually works in many places that VZW does not and They have crap for PDA and or Blackberrys. The greatest Blackberry out is the Bold and Verizon is getting a simliar model, but there is NO WiFi. Not having WiFi is NOT an option for me nor for many business users. Are you a Verizon employee? Why do you care so much??? Verizon's PDAs are OK...it'd be nice to see the latest treo or something. Actually I don't miss Verizon at all. I've only had one consistant dropped call spot and AT&T works several places that Verizon did not. Not to mention the Blackberry Bold is an excellent device with WiFi and not having Wifi is an option to me.

What is your reason for these questions? I didn'thave the same number. For two weeks I had a second number from at&t, when I dropped vzw, I took the number to at& and the bold.
