Ok...really? Are you serious or are you just a fanboy of another carrier. How about the HTC Touch Pro or the Omnia or Saga by Samsung...or that other phone you may have heard a little about, the Blackberry Storm. Trust me there are still a large number of cellphone users out there who don't want a fancy phone with all the latest technology in it. They want a phone that makes and receives phonecalls...and that's ...

Mobile IM locking up 9800??

in the LG V VX-9800 forum

My wife has an LG-VX9800 (got it around christmas time) and for the first month everything worked fine but the last two months, every single time she tries to access Mobile IM on the phone, it locks the whole phone up requiring a hard boot (by removing the battery) before it will respond to anything. I know this isn't normal but has anyone else encountered this issue? Using v.01 software.

It will definitely be a Verizon exclusive when it first comes out

Pretty sure the person talking about v7 being recalled was just mistaken and had experienced a store with techs that were scared to flash after messing up and frying a couple phones. (Tech issue not software issue most times)

Frying your phone is always a risk when flashing new software...just try to make sure you find a tech that knows wth he/she is doing, if you ask them to flash your phone and they look at each other funny and say..well we can try...walk out of the store and find another vzw store.

You can make playlists with your WMAs..not the MP3s but you can easily convert all your MP3 files to WMA for the purpose and yes you can play WMA's from your mini-sd as long as they werent downloaded from VCast Music to someone else's phone (license issues)

There's no such thing as a 700C to my knowledge

It does not have V-Cast. And as to which one, it all depends honestly on how you want to use it, they aren't really that comparable as they are in completely seperate classes of devices. If you need the PDA functions, I would definitely go with the Treo, as the web/email on the 9800 is sub-par in comparison. The 9800 is primarily a phone with the added benefit of a QWERTY keyboard for ease of use ...

I think this is the next step for cell phones and will be the standard in 10-15 years max. A combination of satelite/cell technology..satelite when unable to achieve cell signal, cellular the rest of the time. True global phones.

It is a GSM phone...and a CDMA one.

This is the global phone version of the Samsung i730 with both CDMA and GSM. Just has to be set up on a global phone plan.

All phones are copycats in some way. I mean aren't all flip phones just copycats of the startac and then eventually the v60... There is a demand in the market for this type of phone so different manufacturers make it. It's called economics, it's not that complicated. And it isn't greed, they aren't FORCING people to buy the phones, they are simply offering a product to the public. If people buy it they do.
