I've been surfing this forum for more than a year now and I think I am about to stop here very soon. Smart Access clarification
Jul 14, 2006, 12:09 AM
in the Sharp Hiptop 3 / Sidekick 3 forum

Smart access is T-mobile taking a chance on someone who had not taken care of their credit (defaults on credit cards and such). If you resubmit application for deposit access you are free to choose any of the rate plans available to all other customer. It's not an insult, mind you.

It's interesting that people who wanted free this and free that wonder why they are getting ripped off. Walk into a car lot, tell them that you saw the ad for $3000.00 instant rebate. I am sure the first number you see is #3000.00 dollars more than if you have not mentioned it. Same thing, walk into a car dealership, say you saw the ad for $4000.00 trade in "no matter what condition it's in. TOW IT IN! PUSH ...

So we've seen these two kids coming the store not once but twice. When confronted the first time they said "just looking around". Saw them walking up and down the strip mall several times. Towards the end of the day, while we were busy (they peered into the store before coming in) they decided to come into the store again. So I excused myself (after explaining to my customer what I think these kids were up to) to speak ...

Re: Water Damage
Jun 1, 2006, 4:50 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

The fact that the customer brought the phone to the store for someone to look at indicates that the phone is malfunctioning. The fact that the liquid damage indicator is positive (red) means that the phone has had a relationship with some sort of liquid. Can't be a false positive when phone shows signs of damage (the malfunction). Manufacturere malfunctions do not cause the indicator to turn red.

Firstly, T-Mobile T0 G0 service just added 850 roaming but it's not the same as post pay coverage. below is the link for the pre pay coverage. Zoom in and you'lll see where the roaming coverages are.

Most t-mobile rate plans include roaming. While you have T-mobile service, phones especially GSM phones, do not discriminate who's tower it's receiving. You may set it to just be on one carrier (usual only on carrier bought phones) but so long as you have the right rate plan, you'll be ok.

Had a customer trying to return a loaner phone. She said she had signed for it in a different store. But decided to return her since it's closer to her home. Can't you just ship it to them? YOU are the same company right? ...

The cable service/comes with what size TV analogy is very good. Wireless companies did themselves a disfavor with handset discounts. Created a monster of a consumer. "I've never paid for a phone" mentality is not only going drain the ARPUs but I see big litigations steming from that.

8) we all make bad choices. Most people make calls mostly in their local area but most people don't go for it because they travel once a year to aunt betty's for thanksgiving and don't want to be charged the roaming (what five bucks?). Doesn't make sense. People want a sense of security, be it false. It's like a person getting full coverage on a car that is worth a total of $1000. Only the monthly fee ...
