Well said and as someone who had a defective Ocean and has a new one on the way, you are right. I commend Helio on trying to make things work for me and in the process received a call from someone at corporate who took the time to get the facts and assure me Helio would make it right. So far, so good.

Was just told it will take up to 4 weeks to credit a phone I returned and Helio received on 11/27! They are happy to charge, keep you on hold when calling customer service, just not happy to return your money. Not sure they are the most ethical company. l am off to dispute with the credit card company :evil: .

My story is worse and deserved its own separate thread. Read "Lip Service" post for what happened to me. Helio CS both corporate and phone are terrible, disorganized, and no one knows what the other is doing--all talk and absolutely no action. They make Cingular CS look like geniuses!!

Build quality is not good; top moves side to side and does not feel secure. I have had the phone for four days and am still waiting for their customer service to figure out how to activate my phone. I think it is going back and I will be off to Nextel for the i880-- I want REAL GPS with turn by turn directions which this phone can't provide.

Ordered the Drift to replace my Hero and received it Wed. Called CS to activate and was told the ESN was already assigned and they would escalate my issue-25 wasted minutes on the phone with them. Thursday called and was told they now cannot find the ESN and would escalate--after I was hung up on (another 30 wasted minutes). I see there are many who want this but can't find it. I have called many TMo SF stores and can't find it here either. (I refuse to pay for Cingular's horrific serivce and 2 year contracts.) I took a shot and ordered one online at TMobile expecting to be told it was out of stock. Surprisingly and happily one is on its way to me and should be in my hands tomorrow. :D

No worries; you weren't rude and your comments are valid. I have never not been on hold with Cingular's customer service, unlike TMo which picks up right away. Until more people switch to TMo and overload their great customer service team I will happily pay my service fees to a carrier, TMo, that actually gives customer service instead of lip service and all for only a 1 year contract and lower fees ($39.99 for 1500 mins a month). After having Cingular for many years I switched to TMobile. I tried 3 time to call Cingular's customer service and after taking 2 minutes to wade through Cingular's customer service menu I was on hold for over 7 minutes each call. I gave up. Customer service to Cingular should be called "Lip Service." TMobile lets you speak to a real person who enthusiastically assists within 90 seconds. Just purchased the 7105 from TMobile and the battery cover stays put, unlike the 7100 I had from Cingular (which went back).
