Re: ANDROID 2.1 UPDATE AVAILABLE ! ! !
Link came from the following information page:

References touch to zoom and other features not found on 2.0.1. This is definitely in reference to 2.1.
Re: ANDROID 2.1 UPDATE AVAILABLE ! ! !
Maybe I jumped the gun. Update not available on my Droid. Are they doing a gradual roll-out? Has anyone been able to upgrade yet?

Re: HTC Ozone
Thanks for info! My current plan is NATIONWIDE SELECT 4 Line FAMILY SHARE 700 minutes. What are my options for adding data to a single line on the family share plan.
HTC Ozone
Hey All ! ! !
Been a couple years since I've posted here. Question: Eligible for upgrade 7-19. Can I get HTC Ozone without data plan? If I have to get data plan to get phone, can I cancel plan and keep using the Ozone for voice only.
Also, this phone has been on sale at VZW web site for a week or more. How come there is no information about it on Phonescoop.

I haven't seen the million claim published anywhere. But all the business pubs are today reporting about unexpectedly low iPhone sales. Google "CIBC World Markets"

Highlights for those that can't open link:
Early Tuesday, AT&T - the exclusive wireless carrier for the iPhone - said it activated 146,000 iPhones in the first two days after the product was released, which mark the tail end of Apple's second quarter. Some analysts had forecast the iPhone's first-weekend sales would range from 250,000 to 700,000.
On Monday, CIBC World Markets analyst Ittai Kidron wrote that store ...
Re: GSM vs. CDMA
You gotta love a benevolent democracy like AT&T. Don't subsidize a $600 phone and still force you into a 2 year contract to get it.
Love your idea of "freedom"
Re: Global GSM Service- AT&T or T-Mobile?
Why not give Verizon a try? you'd get the undisputed best stateside coverage, CDMA roaming in Latin America, and if you get one of the GSM/CDMA hybrid phones (BlackBerry 8830 would be the best) you'd get excellent European coverage, primarily on Vodaphones network (Vodaphone is one of Verizon Wireless' parent companies).
iPhone Killer Identified ! ! !
It looks like the iPhone killer turns out to be the AT&T network. See attached Forbes article.

Re: Verizon Wireless reports Q2 total customer additions of 1.3 mln
You are 100% correct, it is location specific, and I can only speak from my experience. However, I travel quite a bit, usually in the company of co-workers, colleagues, clients and other professional acquaintances who have Verizon, AT&T or Sprint. I travel frequently in the following areas at least several times per year, some much more frequently than that:
Pennsylvania- Pittsburgh (home base), Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley
Texas – Houston & Gulf Coast
Tennessee – Nashville & Knoxville
Ohio – Columbus
Maryland – Baltimore, ...
Re: Airplane/Standalone/Music mode
Study after study has proven that cell phones do not cause interference with navigation equipment and are perfectly safe for use on aircraft. If they were really dangerous, they would confiscate them at the security checkpoints.
When the Wireless networks and airlines can agree on the method to collect and split revenue from cell phone usage, you will see it legalized.
By-the-way, doesn't anyone besides me see the stupidity of not letting someone use their phone as a music player when ...
Re: Verizon Wireless reports Q2 total customer additions of 1.3 mln
I AM NOT a Verizon Fanboy. Like you, the People in this forum who act like they have a stake in the company annoy me. I will jump ship as soon as something that fits my needs better comes along. I have absolutely NO feelings of loyalty to Verizon.
That being said, there can be no serious comparison between Sprint and Verizon’s network. I can speak with first hand knowledge of the VZW, ATT & Sprint networks (my comments on ...

Re: Reception on the Samsung U540?
Cellenator said:
The last Samsung I tried did not work as well as my 8300, or moto 325i.
There is not a single internal antenna phone Verizon offers that have as good of reception as the two phones you mention. Internal atennae phones I've had include RAZR, KRZR, Chocolate, VX-8700 and Sammy U-740. The Sammy may have the best reception of the bunch.
Re: Reception on the Samsung U540?
I had Samsung a950 a couple years ago but only kept a week cause reception was so bad. On the flip side, got a U740 on June 23 and love it. It has reception as good as any internal antenna phone on verizon. Don't know much about U540.
Re: Reception & Missed call alert
The reception is very good, as good as any internal antennae phone Verizon offers. However if you spend alot of time in very difficult reception areas, you may want to go with the LG 8300.

MP3 Ringtones via VZWPIX is Back?!?
Was able to e-mail cropped MP3 to U740 and save as ringtone yesterday (Sunday). Has VZW restored this ability, or was it a fluke?

Thanks Eagle Fan ! ! ! It's nice to see useful information posted every once-in-a-while.
Re: NO1's talking lets Start a debate...
What the hell is there to debate?!?!?!? I’m with Verizon cause I believe when all things are considered they are the best option for me. If anyone is PO’d at me for choosing Verizon, they need to get a life. I sure as hell don’t hold any grudge against someone who has determined that another carrier is best for them. All this fanboy crap is fugdup!
Re: Newbie Question - Please forgive
What phone do you have. This recently has been happening to me also. I just switched to a U740 this past Saturday. Thought it might be a phone prob.
Pittsburgh
Thinking of giving T-Mob a try. I'd like to hear peoples experiance and opinions of coverage in Pittsburgh.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Re: Motorola to lauch new I-Phone Killer with Verizon 6/28/2007
I hope everyone realizes that this phone changed the world to a far greater degree than anything that will be released in 2007. In another week people will be strutting around with an iPhone thinking they are soooooooooo cool. The iPhone won’t have one percent of the coolness factor that this thing had in the mid-80’s. It was truly revolutionary, not just a hot new gadget.
Just an old farts opinion. I wouldn’t expect someone not even born yet in ...
Re: I Phone
They should have marketed it as an unlocked quad band GSM phone and used their considerable marketing skills to sell it world wide without any carrier affiliation. Then immediately after product launch, file a lawsuit against Verizon, Sprint and AllTel with the intent of forcing the CDMA carriers to open their networks to unlocked devices, and launch a huge publicity campaign around the lawsuit, making the CDMA customers aware that Apple wants to make a CDMA phone, but carriers ...
Re: Upgrading from Moto E815, need recommendations.
I currently use an E815 and my wife an 8300. They are both in my opinion the two best phones ever offered by Verizon. However, if she wants to “upgrade” from an E815, I assume she wants something with more updated styling. Both the 815 and 8300 are older style, somewhat larger, silver/gray clamshells. Going from E815 to 8300 not a huge upgrade anyway, gain better music controls, maybe a little nicer styling and a slightly better camera, but ...
Re: Your right...but...
If touch creen system works as advertised, it is definately innovative.
Re: Taking 1step forward and 3steps back isn’t innovative…
Chris,
Seeing the commercials over the last few days, the iPhone does seem damn innovative and it may be a game changer. If it were priced lower and on Verizon network i'd definately want to check it out. I also agree with you that most of the perceived negatives people keep mentioning are no big deal. However, can't agree about battery issue. Apple may have the non-replaceable battery figured out with great success for the iPod, but anyone who travels ...
Re: Type-S Available Tomorrow
It's on VZW web site; $149 with online discount and 2 yr. contract. Isn't that much ceaper than the Type V was during it's first six months of release? If I remember, I thought the Type V started at $299.

Re: hehe
Really??? I know the recently discontinued Samsung PDA (I730 ???) had IR TV remote funtion. But R U serious bout keyless entry & gar door opener? Tell us more!!!
Re: what do you want?
A smart phone running WM6 with a form factor similar to the Samsung U740. In addition to all the current features (camera, MP3, transflash, bluetooth, WiFi etc.), I’d like it to function as a T.V. remote, keyless entry for the car and garage door opener. Also want Sirius or XM reception.

Re: Iphone vs RAZR 2
iphone will be a success at higher end, but Joe Six-Pack is not going to buy one for every line on his Family-Share plan. RAZR a few years ago may have been $500 but I don't remember seeing too many on the street till they came down to sub $200 level.
I agree however that iPhone will smoke RAZR2 if MOTO is stupid enough to think they can price it anywhere near $500.
Re: Iphone vs RAZR 2
If RAZR2 is $200 with two year contract vs. $500 for iPhone, I'll bet RAZR2 sells three times more units on Cingular alone.
Re: Motorola May 07 Mystery Phone Unveiling
Nothing Moto introduced today is revolutionary, but neither is the iPhone. The iPod was revolutionary because it was coupled with Itunes music store and was the first and by far most successful legal music-downloading venue. It changed the way we listen to music.
The iPhone will probably be the best music player phone, but will not be a great phone. Too large, too expensive, no 3G, no changeable battery and on and on.
The Apple mystiques is forcing all players to ...
