Thanks for the input! Several people in my office got the DROID and I already know other's who have used phones running Android with other carriers. I'm pretty set on the fact that I'll be picking up a DROID soon!

I dumped outlook sync a long time ago for google sync...it's wireless, automatic and like Robkhb said, free with your gmail/google account!

Storm 2 or....
So thanks to my addiction to Blackberry, I stuck with the Storm this past year...though at times it was frustrating! Now there's a nice new OS for the Storm along with the release of the Storm 2. However, Verizon will also soon release Android, and now I'm torn! Do I stick with Blackberry and go with the Storm 2 or venture out into new territory with Android? What to do, what to do? Well, made the plunge and loaded .230 yesterday. So far I'm seeing some major improvements! I don't know how this could be related, but my phone actually seems to have decent internet speeds in the browser now, where it did not before! Overall phone speed seems to be better. Faster accelerometer transitioning, faster bootup...so far I'm very pleased! The biggest issue I had was that during install, it froze at the very end and would not finish loading all ...

I've been out of the loop for a bit on leaked OS's! I'm still on the Verizon .148! So is there a leaked OS that's much better? What's the initial feedback on the newest one, .230?

I've been running it now since Fri morning...I like it better than .113 which I was on before. This one seems to have corrected a couple annoyances that .113 was giving me, so I'm good for now!

Well, I put .113 on last night and have to say that I'm really liking it! The new text edit option is great and it seems like the phone is at least as responsive if not more so than .109 was for me. And the camera is the best it's ever been for me! I'm very satisfied with .113, and unless the next leak (or Verizon release if that ever happens) is very well rated, I'll probably stick with ...

Personally I think you must be a pretty big loser to write up a review/rating either for or against any product simply to suit your own personal agenda. Just installed .109 on my Storm earlier tonight...can't believe how much more responsive it is! Even the camera is working pretty smooth! I'd dare say this is the OS I've been waiting for! Now we'll see what glitches appear...if any!

So is that somehow different from a can of compressed air?...because I did try the can of air, but it wasn't doing much!...got a whole group of dust right in the middle of the screen!

So I'm starting to notice what appears to be dust build up on my screen...only when I try to clean it off, it doesn't budge. Is this letting dust slip underneath the screen somehow?...any ideas on cleaning it? :?

I fixed it!...did a little bit of quick research online and learned all I needed were my service books reinstalled. Since it's late and Verizon customer service isn't available, I found the website where I can do it myself!

OK, so I downloaded this leaked OS, and everything is looking good so far except for the fact that I no longer have a web browser on my phone! How do I get this back?
I'm also missing the apps folder, but since I currently have all I wanted from that (and since Verizon doesn't seem to be in a hurry to add more) I can live without that for a bit!

It gives you that keyboard layout, but I'm not sure if there's predictive text with it. I pretty much always use the suretype, but I upgraded to the Storm from the Pearl, so I was already very use to that format. I'm getting better with the full keyboard, but suretype is my preferred method.

Yeah, I've actually done two Windows installs on my PC since .75, so the Desktop manager has been reinstalled twice since then! I think I'll just need to call Verizon up and get some tech help from them.
But I'm with you on .99 being the best out! It's running very smooth for me! I just hope it stays that way!...or better yet...the Verizon update could come out instead of another leak!

Yeah, I'm really liking this one!...I did have the same issue this morning with the connection turning off (no emails on my phone) but I did my first battery pull since loading the new OS and it's all been fine all day. As for the backlight, can't say I've noticed anything there...I'm just glad it DOES turn off now!
Anyway, hopefully this is a sign that a Verizon release is on the horizon!
OS 4.7.0.99...Pros/Cons??
So I've been running the .99 leaked OS now since last night and so far, I'm very impressed! For me, the camera seems to have been the one thing that just wasn't getting better, but it does seem to work a bit smoother in this build. Yeah, there have been other bugs along the way, but so far, since installing .99, I've not had any noticeable problem. In fact, the only major issue I'm having is that my Storm ...

I agree...ver .90 is the best yet in my opinion, though I've still experienced some minor annoyances. As far as the camera/video camera go though, neither have worked well since the Storm launched. Hopefully Verizon and Blackberry will have a very good release very soon to make all ...
Sync Issue??
Ever since I left version .75, I've been unable to get my Storm to sync with my PC. The sync box pops up for a second then goes away. When I go in to manually try it it's no different. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks for keeping everyone updated HawkeyeOC! This is the first 'leaked' OS I've decided to try, so I'm anxious to see how it works! I just wish Verizon would finally give us an official upadated version! I know one is coming soon as I recently had a discussion with a Verizon insider, but he couldn't give me a specific date! So soon could be...well...weeks??...months?? Who knows. Anyway, I'm installing .86 now and look forward to any improvement ...
