Manufacturer?

in the Article: Review: Nokia 7705 Twist forum

So... Who ACTUALLY makes this one? :? I played with one and it definitely feels cheap. Please tell me that Nokia hasn't sold themselves to KTFT or whoever the heck it was in Korea to manufacture their other recent CDMA nightmares. The 7705 is, after all, coming out right on the heels of the 6205 and 2605, both of which were horrible phones both in quality and reliability.

It's a French manufacturer, technically called Sagem Communication. They don't sell many phones at all in the States... mostly in Europe. The parent company is Groupe Safran.

Moto E815 for U.S. Cellular?

So I see where U.S. Cellular is tentative on carrying the 815. Has anyone heard when they might release it? I know USC is very aggressive in their phone testing... does anyone know if there have been any hold-ups in the 815 passing, etc, etc... Any info you have would be great. Thanks! Alex

I am guessing you have Verizon? This is what I am thinking is the easiest way to find it out. Find someone with a Nokia 6015i phone. In the menu, go to settings, then playy around with the network menu until you find it. It says it very clearly "frequency: (### mhz)". This is the only way I know of it... a friend of mine used to have a 6015, so that's how we ...

Seriously dude... (directed at the starter of this thread) Why do you feel the need to be negative about things? It's so useless. this is a forum for helping people. Not being fundamental and ignorant. I work for a cell phone service provider, and Nokia's are about the only brand of phone that I never have problems out of. And that's saying something. I have at least one problem out of every other manufacturer. ...

OK I think everybody needs to chill the *f* out. It's a phone. I was just commenting. Christ! everyone is so irritable on cell phone forums.

I work for VZW in the indirect channel. I have connections to get it replaced... but it would still be dissappointing you know... :)

Re: Reception comparison with E815?

I have the E815 and the RAZR both with Verizon. From what I've seen, I am able to put out and successfully hold a call in pretty much the exact same places with both phones. So they're pretty much identical on reception... at least, that's here in southwestern Virginia. Reception is really put to the test with all the mountains around here. It seems to me that the RAZR might just be a tad bit ...

Screen problems already?!
Dec 27, 2005, 9:19 PM
in the Motorola RAZR V3c forum

Good grief. I've had the RAZR V3c on Verizon since Dec. 16th. I am already starting to have screen problems with it, and the hinge feels like I've had the phone for 6 months. This afternoon, I flipped the phone open, and the screen turned off, then flickered off and on, then finally came on. Then the phone lost reception and just kind of sat there searching for a little bit, then got reception back. ...

I am the resident network researcher for the stores in our area. I have just gotten the Razr, and I tested it out against my E815 on reception. It does equally as good. The E815 is one of the strongest reception phones VZW is selling, and I was thoroughly delighted when I found that my Razr was picking up and making calls exactly where the E815 was. Reception around here is a big issue. ...

Wow. Everyone has way too much free time. Think how much you all could have gotten done with all that concentrated energy if it was put towards something worth while. That's just my 2 cents.

The V266 is the U.S. Cellular version of this phone. There is also a V265p planned to come out (V265 with push-to-talk) for Verizon sometime soon. The V276 has an updated screen (better quality) and fixes the sound issues alot of the v265's were having.

OK Anxiovert, here are the facts - so get it right... Verizon is going to launch the RAZR sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know... I WORK FOR THEM. I got the e-mail last week informing me the training session for it would be available soon. It will have the new USB Data charging port, as well as the new Verizon uniformed user interface. As for CDMA ("I don't think so")... CDMA is more structurally ...

I just got this phone as a backup phone... and because I just have an additction to buying phones. It seems like a pretty good little phone. I liked the original v60 and the v66 when they were out... this one is very similar. Very good RF also.
