I found that the Bluetooth "inbox" was turned off. I didn't even realize that there was a Bluetooth inbox but once I found it and turned it on it worked fine.

problem accepting pictures by Bluetooth

in the Nokia 7205 Intrigue forum

I was able to transfer my contacts from my old phone by Bluetooth without a problem, but I having problems getting pictures from another phone being sent by Bluetooth. When I send the picture from by BlackBerry the Nokia says that it is retreiving the file and it says that it was successfully retrieved - but the picture is not in my pictures or anywhere else that I have looked in the phone. Does anyone have any ...

Re: Nokia 7205 - anyone know a date?

in the Verizon forum

I have not heard of many problems with the 6205 for Verizon. I don't have much experience with the 2605, but that is such a low end phone. The Nokia's that Verizon had previous to these phones were made by Pantech and they seemed to have a lot of problems. Some of the first Nokia CDMA phones worked well after they got some of the PRL problems worked out. I think Nokia just wants to ...

Re: LG 8950 vs. LG 5500, other simpler phones?
Dec 17, 2008, 10:02 AM
in the Verizon forum

The 8950 is not an LG phone, it is a UTStarcom phone under just the Verizon brand. I have no personal experience with the 8950 yet, but the UTStarcom phones that have been in that same series of phones have not been the greatest performing phones. For what you are looking for I would consider the LG vx8350, or consider waiting for the vx8360 which should be out sometime later in December or January. You may ...

Many of the premium retailers for Verizon will have the phone on Friday - at least in some small quantities. I haven't heard yet when other agents will have access to this phone.

The Cell Ranger only boosts the incoming signal - nothing outgoing. I haven't researched this particular Wilson product - but typically Wilson products work on both the incoming and outgoing transmissions.

They will have the EVDO turned on there very soon. I am looking forward to that.

I'm glad this finally happened and the transition from Unicel to Verizon can take place, especially in Minnesota.

I know of what you speak - I'm in North Dakota, but here in the eastern part of the state we have a few carriers. That's why I am curious about US Cellular. I believe they use mostly CDMA, but I don't know enough about them to know if they can afford to buy up some of these areas.

I don't that Sprint has the money right now to buy up too much, assuming that Verizon would sell off the overlap areas several different carriers. Is US Cellular a strong enough company to buy up some of those areas?

Any guess as to who would be the most likely companies to buy up the overlap areas?

RCC (Rural Cellular Corp)is just the parent company name of Unicel. They are in the process of being purchased by Verizon Wireless, but it has been slowed because they have to do a spectrum swap (I think with AT&T) to get final FCC approval. Jut look in some of the older news links to get more details.

This is going to be the most confusing things for customers with this open phone thing. I can see a lot of people bringing GSM and iDen phones in wanting to run them on Verizon. I can also see some people that just don't understand getting very angry.

I couldn't give you all the info on what it takes because most of it doesn't involve me - but it does include being exclusive with certain displays and signage in your stores being set up the way Verizon wants it. It does allow us to put Verizon in bigger letters on all of our signs on the outside of the stores. And now when I spend time in a store - I have to wear a ...

YEP!! Well at least they are giving some information. We are a premium retailer, so maybe there is a glimmer of hope for us - but so far no one that I have talked to know anything about the allocation for us. That was probably included in the few that were made available earlier. The red-headed stepchildren of Verizon (indirects) will always have to beg for scraps.

Re: Question for Indirect Agents
Nov 30, 2007, 12:25 PM

It sounds like very few indirects ever got any Voyagers, in fact I was told that not a single agent in the Midwest area was able to order any. They have come available twice that I know of and each time the WOW website was so overloaded with traffic that it was slow and I got logged out a couple times. The best I did was get some in my "cart", but by the time I got ...

Any other indirects notice this today???? We got another "rumor" that more will come available today, but they are going to be even harder to order if they have taken them off the ordering website!!!!!

As an indirect we are all considered the "red-headed stepchildren" of Verizon. Although the Venus & Voyager situation is a little unique, I can't say that I am that surprised. I have tried contacting our LG rep and all I got was a corporate answer saying that after they deliver the phones Verizon decides where they get distributed. Also, make sure you don't forget about the new Samsung Flip-Shot that they are keeping exclusive online until ...

Are there any indirects out there that have been able to order the Voyager? I was told that some would come available yesterday afternoon, and then at the last minute it changed. It has been hard to get the Venus also - about every 2 or 3 days I get to sneak in a small order before they run out again.

On a positive note - I just got in the belt clips for the Voyager & Venus that I ordered thinking that I wouldn't have a problem getting the phones. I'm guessing that they probably won't sell too well yet!!!!! :D

I was able to order a whopping 7 of the Venus' before they ran out. I didn't think that would have been that hard to get, but obviously I was wrong.

Re: warranty issue

It depends on what brand of phone you have. If you have an LG phone and send it to them, they will send you a replacement. If it is a Motorola, Samsung, or Audiovox (UTStarcomm) they will usually fix it and send it back. I'm not sure what to tell you to expect for a turnaround time - sometimes it is a little as 10 days sometimes it take 6+ weeks.

Phone review suggestion
Aug 29, 2007, 9:57 AM
in the phonescoop.com forum

I apologize if this has been brought up before, but would it be possible to have the person writing their review to select which carrier that they are using - assuming that the phone is carried by multiple carriers? For example the new RAZR2 v9m is going to be carried by at least 5 different carriers and it would be interesting to see if there are different quality reviews for different carriers.

I have sat down with several of the phones and so far this is what I have found. The only LG that I have found it on is the vx3450, although I think some of the higher end LG's like vx8700 also have that feature. I did find it also on both the Samsung u340 & u540, although to find it in the u540's menu took a lot of time. I have not found it on ...

Does anyone know a phone that you can change a setting so that it says what key you are hitting when you are pressing numbers? I believe it is a feature for people that have vision problems so they can hear what numbers that they are pressing. I know I have seen a phone with this feature before, but I cannot remember which phone(s) had that feature.

I have read the older info on this phone and I am just wondering if anyone has heard anything recently on when and if this phone will come available - the last I heard was that it might be released in June or July. Also I don't remember if this phone will have wi-fi on it or not. Any new info would be appreciated.

If this already exists - I apologize but I haven't seen it. Is it possible to put an option to search for phones that have the A2DP stereo Bluetooth option? It would be nice to find phones easier that have this feature. On a side note - does anyone know if the Verizon KRZR has this feature???

To My knowledge there is not anything on the market that supports stereo Bluetooth - yet. I have heard a rumor that Parrott will be making one in the future. They do make a unit that supports Bluetooth now - just not stereo Bluetooth. I agree I think this would be a cool feature to have in my car.

Question on Smartphones
Jan 26, 2007, 10:46 AM
in the Verizon forum

With the upcoming release of the Pantech 820 I was wondering what the main differences are between a smart phone and a PDA phone. It seems to me that a smartphone does not have things like Microsoft Word or Excel on it - but is that the biggest difference? I think the 820 will be a good selling phone, but to me it makes more sense to buy a PDA phone like the Q or the 700W.

As far as Verizon phones - they have a limited selection and they do not qualify for the Verizon rebates. I buy a lot of accessories from them though like Bluetooth headsets and universal carry cases. They do a fair job of shipping - it is good for being on time, but not always the cheapest in shipping charges. I like their online ordering - very easy to tell what is in stock.
