DId verizon turn off the call waiting beep?
Mar 4, 2010, 11:54 PM
in the Verizon forum

I'm talking about the beep callers would here if they called you while you were already on the phone. Did they remove that? It always annoyed me that people could tell if I purposely ignore their call while I am talking to someone else. Just wondering, thanks!

Honoring Agreements?
Sep 13, 2009, 11:18 PM
in the Verizon forum

Correct me if I am wrong but paying the termination fee is honoring an agreement. When I sign a contract, the agreement states that if I cancel my service, I have to pay a termination fee. As long as I pay the fee, I followed the agreement, right? :paranoid:

That's because they'll get hit with a chargeback on their commission when you cancel, and some employees could also see their commission reduced overall because their money is tied into their returns, too (but that is a corporate employee, not Best Buy, to my knowledge). I've refused to do it before. My manager ...

In-contract trick to get new blackberry for cheap, possible?
Sep 11, 2009, 10:51 AM

Ok, so here is the deal. This all may sound like a lot but work with me here… My gf has a storm and can’t take it anymore, its just not for her. We just got it swapped out for a refurb so it is in new condition. What she wants in the blackberry tour, however given the price they are going for ebay minus the price her storm would go for still makes her spend around $200 after everything. ...

Haha, funny article. Truth is, the iPhone is not for everybody. Just how a Windows Mobile phone is not for everybody. Just how a new Macbook Pro is not for your grandma that just wants to read something on the internet. Here is an idea - - lets have the author of this article try out the Storm.. let me know how that goes, k?

dont think there will be any new colors for the chocolate very soon. something different from the voyager? well if you don't want a blackberry/smartphone then that limits your options. why not try the boulder for a cool waterproof phone? Or go with something ultra portable like the Juke? that thing is tiny.

iPhone 3G using old iPhone data plan
Sep 26, 2008, 6:27 AM
in the AT&T forum

So after having my 3G iPhone for while, my sister gave me her 1st generation iPhone as a back up. Setting it up on iTunes made me go back to a $20 data plan. I have been switching back and forth between for iPhones, but on my 3G iPhone I got the message saying "My data plan is not elligible with iPhone 3G and to call and have it switched. When I called ATT I got some idiot who did ...

unless i am reading something wrong here...the rep you spoke to doesn't seem to know that they are talking about. why should someone who doesn't have insurance be given the "new contract" price of the phone, when you were already in contract since April. good job though.

chris, there actually is a notepad on the iPhone right now and you can also send texts to multiple people (since like january) Adding 3G is def the biggest thing with the new iPhone. the new software and the "App Store" are also a huge plus. Now when they throw a CDMA chip in, then we are talking, right? 8)

Jun 11, 2008, 2:47 PM

I'm going either Curve or the Blackjack 2, any advice? I'l just be using the internet/browsing. I know the blkjack has 3G, but I always wanted to try the Curve as well. Thanks in advance.

The iPhone is great for checking email and using the calendar, which can sync with your computer so everything is always backed up. Its a great multimedia phone. Music, videos, internet, email, etc. It is not covered by insurance, so be careful if you get one. The new iPhone is expected to be released as soon as June, but will definitely be released in 2008. The new iPhone will be 3G (faster internet connection while browsing the web) and will ...

It is GSM phones in general. Nothing is wrong with the phone. If it is too much of a problem then you would have to switch to VZW or Sprint, which use a different frequency (CDMA).

Mar 30, 2008, 5:23 PM

No, I didn't fail to realize that. I just stated that there are a few misconceptions with the ease of use of switching phones with a sim card. Both have positives and negatives, no one can deny that. And I agree with the whole unlocked thing. That is one of a GSM carrier's strongest attributes.

I do agree, evdo to 1x and vice versa is a pain in the but. Im not sure if this has been fixed yet but ya it needs to be fixed. From the couple of times I had to call in and do this though, they did waive the fee since it can't be done online.

Ya it is a total misconception that truly isn't such the big deal that people make it out to be. Having a Sim card is not and should not be any kind of deal breaker between GSM vs. CDMA.

Vzw to Att: Switching between phones not so bad with Vzw afterall
Mar 28, 2008, 8:39 AM
in the Verizon forum

One of the biggest complaints people with verizon always say is that switching between phones is such a hassle having to either call customer service or log into My Account to do the ESN swap. Everyone wishes that verizon had sim cards like Att and Tmobile, but are sim cards really so great if you switch between phones daily? I always thought the same thing while I was with Verizon. When the iphone came out and I switched to Att, ...

I just called to get my mom switched on to it. Of course, this is the response I get (after 10 minutes of being on hold) "I'm sorry sir, we are actually having problems with that plan right now as far as adding it on to your account. Can I call you later and let you know what is going on?" Get your crap together sprint!

true..but i always feel more comfortable when ATT has it in their line up, dont ask me why. basically you have to make sure the phone comes in the same 'bands' as ATT offers for 3G and all? GSM 850 / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 WCDMA 850 / WCDMA 1900 / WCDMA 2100 ???

Hey guys. Once Sprint figures out what it is going to do with their unlimited plans, my mom will be moving over from Nextel to Sprint. What is the best phone out there with Sprint currently? She talks a lot, needs speaker, 1 megapixel or greater camera, and it needs to be somewhat thin. I was looking at the Samsung M520, Katana DLX, and the Samsung M510. Am I missing any good ones? I appreciate your help.
