If the V540 is the same as the V551 but w/o a camera, then it is a very well made phone and far from "ghetto" or "low end". I owned the V551 for a few months before I cancelled with Cingular, and it was a great phone, very well made with a lot of great options and a better screen than most phones. I wish I could have kept that phone to use on Verizon, but ya ...

With Verizon, you can call the 800 number OR the 611 number and neither will use your minutes up. I have not heard anything about charging for cc calls, as we really stress on the free call issue.

I must admit that my bank was always very helpful, even though they had very thick accents. I work for Verizon Wireless, and whenever I call customer service, sometimes I get a great agent, sometimes they suck. I've had T-Mobile and Cingular, both had good CS, but service in my area sucked.

I wish Bob, the typical Cingular customer were back!!

Haha, wow, I am a Customer Service Rep and I must put out a good bellowing laught that echoes throughout my entire call center... Call customer service, otherwise my own words would be... "go F*ck yourself" I think that speaks for everyone of us on the job right now.

i wouldn't mind working sales in a store. it gets boring in this call center. i'd rather be able to speak to the customer in person and be nice or be a prick to them to their face. No QA scores or recordings.....

yeah, one time some older lady called in about her high bill this month. I told her about the very high minutes....750 used on a 400 minute plan. I then proceeded to look at her current usage to see if she was over again. OVER 900 minutes, and the billing cycle was over the next day. I strongly urged her to change the plan immediately to a higher plan so she wouldn't be charged for overages. ...

I feel for ya CDMAAOK. I'm a CSR for VZW also and feel the same way. I just activated vzw service with radioshack and i had to call cs myself to get the 2 yr promo code fixed. hehe, i think i may go to sales though. i feel like such a dirtball in cs, making cst's pay for things like prorated minutes that they never knew about.

I have heard of people at the store getting a free phone, so that would anull my previous comment. I do know that Best Buy Verizon employees get a new phone every year, it was just stated under out M&P site.

I work at a call center and no reps ever come by, and if they did, they certainly wouldn't give the hundred + people that work there a free ROCKR phone. take ...

I have been checked by both Cingular and Verizon. I was only 18 with a high credit card bill that I payed on time every month above the minimum required. Cingular wanted no deposit when I did it online. I don't know about the store, I never tried it. Six months before, when I only had a savings account, no checking or credit card, they wanted $800 deposit. I'm going to check what ...

I had cingular and I had to drop the contract after 6 months. I waited for a tower in my area to be installed like the rep said and then the idea was scrapped, so I called and whined about it. The ETF was taken off. I'm going with VZW now. Cingular's coverage in my area was awful. I kept getting only 1 bar and couldn't call people, roaming off Canadian towers and getting charged ...
