It depends on Microsoft and HTC. Tmo might want an added feature to the firmware exclusively for their phone and integrated it with the new 6.5 Firmware updates are usually done by

Re: T-Mobile NEEDS an American Union for it's workers !!!!!

If tmo employees are happy then why rock the boat. The Union nowadays just want to extort monies from it's members to feed their exuberant lifestyles. When the Union order their members to strike there's no monetary compensation in the mean time from them leaving you out in the cold. Unions can and will cripple companies if they don't get what they want resulting in chaos within the company.

This phone is much better than the MyTouch. MyTouch is a thermal activated touch screen and can't use your fingernail or a stylus. The Highlight's volume is loud and this includes both the ringtones and speakerphone. The icons are larger which makes it easier to activate the feature. The bluetooth is amazing... it can access another phone's directory and transfer informations fast.

The biggest drawback on this phone is that it's a thermal touch screen. You can't use your fingernail or a stylus! The ball is too sensitive resulting in inaccurate menu selections.

Okay we went ahead and got the MyTouch but it wasn't the phone for her. The screen is thermal touch activated and with her fingernails it was difficult to use. We returned it and got the Samsung Highlight instead. Data plan is a lot cheaper too ($9/mo) because it wasn't a Google phone. She's happy, I'm happy and the world is at peace again! LOL :D

Why would it be required to get the data plan if you're not even going to use it? It's basically to subsidize the cost of the phone. Also this new data plan requires an additional $5 fee from the old data plan. When I went to the store most of the customers are not tech savy. Like I said the sales of MyTouch2 will probably be lower than expected due to this reqirement. The ...

It's rumored that the new Wing II will be from Huawei. The MyTouch is the G2. There's a new Motorola Android coming soon and T-Mobile might carry it.

The iPhone is with AT&T not Verizon. I don't know why t-mobile didn't roll out 3g everywhere at the same time since we don't have it in Honolulu either. There is a rumor that the iPhone will come to Verizon next year. T-Mobile is getting behind as Sprint is coming out with 4G pretty soon.

We guys have to stop, listen and hear what women want. She wanted a mytouch because it's cooler than the Behold. Thanks Shellis129 for backing me up. We do have wifi at home so she can access the internet. I didn't persuade her to get the data plan because she stated her reasons which made sense. The downfall with t-mobile is it's slow expansion of 3G as Sprint is already working with 4G! ...

Since this phone is new the price is outrageous. I'm going to wait awhile 'till it comes down in price. I'm really waiting for the Wing II if ever it comes (crossing fingers) :-)...

The phone has other great features besides the internet which I can see her point of view (camera, video and music player to mention a few). The main thing is that t-mobile will not upgrade without the data plan just like the iPhone for ATT. It's a nice phone but to make it mandatory to get the data plan doesn't make sense. Everyone is not internet savvy like my wife. T-Zone for her is adequate. ...

Kind of disappointed with upgrades.
Aug 18, 2009, 9:53 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

Basically my wife wanted a new phone (MyTouch)but her anniversary date wasn't due yet for an upgrade. I asked the rep if I could upgrade my phone and use my wife's SIM in it instead. He said that since I had a data plan on my phone we would have to add it with the new phone at a cost of $5 more than I was paying for of $19. He said T-Zone would not work on ...

What's with "PLEASE don't buy this phone". Do you actually have this phone? Haven't seen any negatives about hangups or lag times in any reviews. Are you speaking from experience 'cause it's not even out yet!

Depending on your plan you can get Internet for $20 as an add on if you qualify.

 Let see, you bought an upgrade phone? You expected a SIM card with the phone? The SIM card is useless anyways unless you activate it with a new number which will cause the same $20. Probably already got a lower priced phone in the first place. Actually the cheapest way of getting a new phone cheap is to activate a new line number and end the previous contract which is usually after a year. ...

Re: Connecting to the Internet via the Bluetooth Modem

I usually have the internet access number on the phone and on the pda have it dial that number and connect to the internet. This is thru regular dialing. If you have GPRS data then you have to ask your carrier how to set the phone for data packets. Regular access number connection is very slow, slower than 14.4

Just buy of those screens that protect pda's and cut it to size. The screen is protected by glass not plastic where it's more prone to scratches.

Have you actually seen/touch this phone? I own one and it's great! It's a basic phone with great features. If you want an upgrade get the L7, which I also have. STN screens have come a long way since then, it's bright and less pixellated like before.
