This phone offers something the v551 doesn't have...the ability to create talk groups on the fly. I used it for a while to talk with family a lot easier and cheaper.

The battery life of the phone should not hold you back from enjoying the phone. The longer lasting batteries normally become available right after the phone launches. As for the camera...not all the phone offer the camera as a JAVA app. The true issue with the camera is that the maximum amount if megapixels out there is around 7.2. The Nextel camera is under 2. The new platforms coming out will be eye catching. But if you think size matters more than performance then you will only like half of them.

In the coming year Nextel will launch a few more Bluetooth phones. The lag has been that the polls show that even though it is out there not too many people use it on a regular basis. So it has not been a priority to develop.
