Sprint 800 mhz (esmr)
Hi guys, It's been a while. Can anyone tell me if this new i phone 5 can support Sprints upgraded towers (network vision) in the 800 mhz esmr cdma band like most of their current smart phones do? It should not be a deal breaker for me, I know, but I really would like to know that when and if I buy this phone, it will be able support Sprint's FUTURE tower upgrades.
Thanks in advance guys!
Jim
Re: A screencolor question...
I don't own the phone yet, but If I had to guess.. I would put my money on your off-white color screen having something to do with the 3D feature of the phone. Good Luck!
Re: Now kiss and make up.
LMAO!!!!
Re: WAAAA!! poor Big Red!
Before all ya kool aid drinkin Big V defenders start attacking please understand I do agree VZW IS good with the towers being built out though !
WAAAA!! poor Big Red!
Seriously all kidding aside the company I work for uses Vzw and I use a Sprint Sanyo phone and I DO have more dropped calls with Big Red V than I EVER do with my Sanyo from Sprint. I can't beleive I am allowing myself to sound like a fan boy! Ha Ha!

Sorry, but they do. The fact that you find it difficult to believe is humorous, honestly. Their native coverage is ridiculous. Combining Alltel with Verizon just was not fair. But what could the FCC do after allowing Cingular to buy ATTWS and Sprint to buy Nextel (talk about an albatross around one's neck). anyway, they definitely have that coverage. The real bone of contention is IS that coverage National Access (1x) and ...

True, albeit in a perfect world. I don't dislike verizon, I just don't think they're all that. I have VZW for work and travel to MANY of those red shaded areas and guess what... "Can you hear me now?" .... probably not since there's no signal.
Since no one else will say it....
I guess I'll have to say it or at least bring it up. I'm not a coverage expert but I do pay enough attention to this stuff to know that while AT&T's network 3g OR NOT 3G in certain areas , there is NO WAY that Verizon has all of that area of the Unite States map that is shaded in red COVERED with their VOICE signal let alone 3G. No offense to anyone. I'm not a "fan boy", ...

Yes I just said that. I'm sorry but yes I think it's a bit gross and I know it's not the worst case of leprosy in the world but it's not like I can pretend it doesn't exist.
Oh... well.... My apologies TOO THEN. I didn't realize that you happen to be a dermatologist who is absolutely blemish and SHAME free

I got sick looking at those pictures. Maybe wear a glove to hide the leprosy/psoriasis? .
DID you just seriously say that? Your brain isn't even connected to your mouth is it?
Omnia i910 Coming to sprint??I hope...
Hi Everybody,
Does anyone know if this phone will eventually be coming to Sprint? This phone certainly seems like it could benefit Sprint to have it in their phone line-up. Comments?
Re: Q Chat question for Sprint Reps
Hi, I'm not a Sprint rep but I bet if you go to "buzzaboutwireless.com" and create an online profile, one of the administrators or members might be able to help you out.
Re: Qchat area
Try going to the "Buzz about Wireless" website. You might be able to get some information from one of the administrators about potential EVDO Rev-A expansions in that area. You might have to join the website, (Free), and create a profile like you did here. The site is mostly for Sprint/Nextel users and there is always good info floating around. You'll want to check out the Network/Coverage forums within the "Buzz about Wireless" site. Good luck!
VZW+UNICEL?
If this is true,(and not a mistake in any documentation), I wonder if the handset is meant for VZW and Unicel customers. I know Verizon Wireless acquired Unicel not too long ago and had planned to add CDMA equipment to
the existing Unicel GSM equipment at the base stations. One of the articles I found did state that VZW wanted to keep the GSM technology up and running for roaming.
Aren't the two (CDMA and GSM) radios going to interfere ...

Capacity issues on IDEN/ Poor Customer Service/ PTT Iden/Cdma interoperability
I have to tell ya folks, I love Nextel for it's PTT, and I love Sprint for it's crystal clear voice quality, network reliability and competitive pricing. I think that alot of the struggle that Sprint is having right now is due to the capacity issues on the IDEN network. I loved Nextel up until the dropped and blocked calls began and such. Up until 2 years ago, everyone I knew loved Nextel too. Now,unfortunately, alot of the people ...

Re: This phone doesn't support 800mhz cdma Thanks for helping
Thank you everybody for your help, I really appreciate it. I guess I just wanted to make sure that after sprint rolls us nextel customers onto cdma, that I will still have the same coverage I do now, hopefully more ( I thought) which is why I was hoping to have expanded voice coverage with verizon's network.
No big as long as I don't lose any coverage that I have now through nextel.
once again Thank you!
This phone doesn't support 800mhz cdma
I just found out from the website "phone arena" that this phone will only support 1900mhz cdma and 800mhz iden. No roaming onto Verizons 800mhz cdma. I'm not too happy about that since Sprint's coverage is minimal without the capability of roaming. Can anyone tell me how we can find out if this is going to be a permanent issue with Sprint Nextel ( no roaming onto Verizon's 800 mhz cdma) or is this just going to be an ...

Anyone have an exact release date for this phone other than Q2?
I asked my Nextel dealer if he knew when the i580 was going to be released and he thinks
early May for the i580. I had also called the upgrade department/customer service at Nextel to see about the release date for the phone and they told me that unfortunately they are not notified about new phone release dates until the morning of the actual release of the phone. ...
