Try ##PROGRAM8600 SEND...or ##77647268600 SEND. Then enter 000000 for the SERVICE CODE.

Help! I want to turn off EVDO in hopes of extending the battery life. I tried the following, but it didn't work: To disable EVDO, click menu --> 000000 --> Network Select --> Mode Preference --> 1x Only When I click Menu and start entering the 0's, the phone thinks I'm trying to dial a number. I don't know if this is something that was changed with the new software version (V3) or not. On my old LG phone, ...

Can anyone confirm if the 8600 will be available again online or not? If so, you would think they would have left it up and just stated it is currently out of stock.

So, for those of you who own the LG VX-8600, how is the reception? I was originally going to get the LG VX-8600 until I heard the LG VX-8700 was coming out. I bought the 8700 a few weeks ago but quickly returned it because the reception was so bad. GuyinLACA, I was just wondering...how do the employees at VZW respond when you take back one phone after another? Anytime I've tried to return a phone to have it replaced for valid issues such as the ones you have described, it seems like I get varying degrees of attitude from the person helping me...like they think I'm too picky or something. To me, as expensive as the phones are and as long as you have to keep them ...

Thank you very much, TMBS! I don't understand why LG designed the phone this way, but your explanation makes perfect sense. I really appreciate you taking the time to provide this information.

I just got the LG VX-4650 yesterday. It seems like a pretty nice phone. However, it has a serious glitch. The screen says '[SPK]:Speaker On' when the speaker is off and '[SPK]:Speaker Off' when the speaker is on. Is this common or are the cell phone reviewer for CNET and I the only ones who have experienced/noticed this problem? Is there a fix for it yet? If not, will getting a new phone ...

Now there's an idea! I wonder if it will work, though. Will the Verizon techs mind reloading the software on a new phone? Will they even have this software yet?
