I have had a most wonderful experience and I am extremely happy with the iphone. I changed from verizon a year ago and had no problem with activation. the phone has worked flawlessly and Ihave not had the hearing problems that some seem to have sensed. I would recommend it , but it does depend upon what youare seeking in a phone, ipod, and handheld computer. :D

Right and that is why you can go directly to Best Buy and purchase one, only if you are an agent- or just a member of the general populace.

Re: Trying to pick between Nokia, Motorola and LG for new phone

I have haad both the v710 and the nokia 6256i. There is little to commend the v710 compared to the nokia which I beleive is the best cdma phone availalble and certainly the best that Verizon offers, even if it isn/t available through the corporate stores, as yet. It delivers in quality, clear reception and full bluetooth functionallity. I would have no qualms pushing to go to Best Buy as quickly as possible and to purchase- the NOKIA ...

The first place to try is online if you have an acount- or to set one up. The second place is through Verizon customer support which is usually very helpful and they can activate it for you. If you bought the phone at BB then you could have had them do it for you. The store may be the last place you want to go, as the phone is not available through them at this time- which is unfortunate, ...

I am also using the Nokia PC Suite, Windows 2000 and a D-Link Bluetooth adapter. It seems when the adapter finds the device, the PC Suite does not, and then the Suite finds it so- still getting communication error when trying to sync with the suite. :x

Sync problems?

I have been able to have the nokia software connect with the 6256i but not able to sync data or transfer files (windows 2000). Any suggestions? or do we have to wait until Nokiaa updates the phone list for the software?

:D I just returned from getting my 6256i from Best Buy. They were not even sure they had it, until they looked under the counter! So far- I am impressed with the things I can do, sending files via infrared from my Treo and contacts as well. Looking forward to seeing how the software works when I get to a PC rather than my mac. As far as I can tell, the call quality is very good, clear and ...

Any Hint at Release!

:o Anyone have a hint at release by Verizon in store? It would be nice becuase I am getting more and more frustrated with the treo 650- on my third one now and the reception and dropped calls still occur.

Re: Info from VZ online manual

the manual from Nokia website is the Verizon branded manual and all information is from that manual. Unless the manual is changed, it would seem to have all of the bluetooth capabilities.

Ӣ Object push profile (OPP) Ӣ File transfer profile (FTP) Ӣ Dial-up networking profile (DUN) Ӣ Generic object exchange profile (GOEP) Ӣ Headset profile (HSP) Ӣ Hands-free profile (HFP) plus GAP and SAP These are all listed in the manual. Again, there may be a change in the manual or the phone by the time that it is actually issued- if it ever is.

If you look at the manual from nokia for the 6256i which is the verizon manual, there is a whole section 13 which talks about all of the profiles supported by Bluetooth and then a section about how to pair. There are at least 8 different profiles supported, making this phone the most bluetooth functional phone that Verizon has ever issued- unless, there is a change or that it is never issued. :D

Re: treo 650 vs 6256i?

in the Nokia 6255i / 6256i forum

Thanks- many of the problems that you detail with the verizon 650 are exactly the same problems that I have had and I am on my 2nd 650 because the first one got fried when trying to update the software. The second one I have not tried to update, fear that the same thing would happen. Looking forward to trying to make my mind up about the expense of going to yet another phone manufacturer- I had the v710 ...

treo 650 vs 6256i?
Nov 4, 2005, 5:23 PM
in the Nokia 6255i / 6256i forum

Hi- I like my Treo 650 but the reception and drop calls are frustratin. So- will this phone really have the capabilities that the Palm OS provides with syncing the calendar (only to outlook?- how about palm desktop, or iCal) contacts, pop email, web and still have the reception that everyone claims- It seems to be a no brainer to change to the 6256i if the functionality of the phone is what the threads seem to state. Any thoughts ...

Perhaps , one wmight not want to use the same phone all the time( such as a smartphone may not work as well when traveling since often the receptio is worse on smartphones)- so why should I have to pay for two accounts- the previous responder fel  t this was a dumb question- right - only if you want to pay for two accounts- the software world should be able to fix the technical problems, so I beleive ...

two phones, same single account

when will Verizon or any carrier allow individuals to have more than one phone on a single account. One reason I won't get rid of my land lines is that I can have as many phones on one line that I want- no way with mobile phones- sopomehow we might have two phones ring at the sametime, oh my- which one wshould I answer! Would appreciate comments.

Be assured, Butler is very stable and I highly recommend it. :) You will find all of the functions of Butler to work well with the 650.

I am really enjoying my 650, as well. Watch third party apps as they have a tendency to make the phone have a reboot problem. Hope yours works as well as mine.

The listing for upper NY state still does not contain the TREO 650. Asked a VZW rep at a Verizon store in Chicago, and they were baffled as to it not being present (on vacation) and said it is out of stock there , as well. Only VZW knows and it is evident we are not to know, at least for now. :?

I bought mine 8 days ago and now wonder if I should have waited for the vx8100, even though it's not near the phone the 650 seems to be. When I bought it, I had to order it because none were available in Upstate NY area- makes you wonder if the reps were telling the truth about it just being in high demand? :o
