Using ATT phone on T-Mobile

I got a deal I couldn't pass up on an ATT iPhone 5c but I have T-Mobile service. Att will carrier unlock the phone if I was the original owner, but obviously I'm not. What are my options for getting it to work with T-Mobile? Is it possible to have a friend with current ATT service put their Sim in the phone and request an ATT carrier unlock acting as the phone owner?

Ok, is the strobe or the kyocera slider remix better? I want something eye catching, but I also love to text. I want something user friendly, but definitely a good camera and a good speakerphone. oh yeah, and something durable because i'll drop it a lot. Price isn't a big issue but take it into consideration (online rebates don't count because I'm getting it at an Alltel store). Please help! Thanks, Jesse

my picture phone couldn't receive or send picture messages so alltel told me to go and get it updated/reprogrammed at an alltel store. As far as I know it's free too.

Tracfone is really expensive. And they need more advanced phones. It's really good for younger kids though. Just buy a card and have minutes. I personally just don't like it. Oh well. I just really wanted to post. Lol.
