Well, if you are shopping on price an 8GB iPhone is $400, a 4GB is $300, plus $1680 for two years of service w/1500 SMS. The Blackjack is $100 (online), plus $1920 for two years (includes 1500 SMS). 8GB iPhone $2080 4GB iPhone $1980 Blackjack $2020 It is NOT "a lot cheaper", especially since you don't have Windows Mobile with which to deal (a huge bonus to me). As far as IM goes, ...

I use software called iToner. I edit the song to the clip I want for a ringtone using Audacity (free audio editor) and then, using iToner, it loads directly to the iPhone WITHOUT using iTunes. That way, when iTunes updates come out to block the "workaround" ringtones, mine will still work. iToner is only compatible with Macs. If you use windows, I don't know.

No problems here. I haven't had it long, but I use the browser a lot.

I have had no problems here. Reception has been on par with my e815 when I was using Verizon. No dropped calls and no problems making/receiving calls. When I was with Verizon, I would miss many calls that went straight to voice mail. It hasn't happened with the iPhone yet.

I agree that this phone looks good. However, I am unsure what you mean by "ergonomical", especially since this word does not exist.

Re: Why Does Everyone Hate Verizons UI?

I was talking to the folks in the Verizon corporate store the other day. According to what they tell me (I know of couple of them fairly well, and even they don't like the UI), most people actually love the new UI (as do people I have asked myself). It allows them to get a new phone without having to learn a new UI (that would require some effort).

I would strongly disagree with everything you say here. I have this phone and have had just the opposite experience. If you had a bad phone, exchange it for another. If this phone can recogize a huge redneck drawl like mine, it can handle anything....

I've had the phone a week and love it. Some started criticizing the phone before they had it because they ASSUMED it would have problems. Most do not.

You can convert MP3s to midi and email them to yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com....if that is what you are wanting.

I just open the mp3 in Windows Media Player and then do a Save As and put a .mid extention on the file name. I email that file to my phone. When you open the message, the sound should play (could take a few seconds). Then when the message is open press the menu key. One of the selections is "Save Items". Just select file and follow the prompts at the bottom of the ...

I have had no problems using MP3s as ringtones. I email them to my phone using [mynumber@vzwpix.com]. I just change the file type to midi (.mid) and send as an attachment. You can use Windows Media Player to open an MP3 and "Save As" a midi file. No need to "Get it Now".

Yes it does. You have to set the contacts to display by primary. Then when entering a contact, when you do one number, scroll to the bottom of the list to a link that says "***MORE***". This will let you add another number under one entry. When you come to a name in your list you can use the left-right arrows to select another number.

I thought I would share my thoughts on the e815. I was lucky enough to find a Verizon Rep at a Circuit City store in Lewisville, Tx that sold me one. I only took it because he reassured me he would not be in trouble. First, I had the VX8000 and traded it in for the e815 (first 14 days). The LG is a good phone, but the call quality and reception were not up to par. ...

I have not tried to dial a number then close the phone. However, if you turn on the speaker, then close the phone and press the voice button on the right side, you can tell it to dial a contact's number and then you have the speakerphone while closed. :D

I don't think the rep is worried about his pension (notice the correct spelling) if he does not sell you a phone early. Verizon can tell what kind of phone you have from the ESN, so they would know if you had one early and where it came from. Therefore, you would not have to turn him in for him to get in trouble.
