Blackberry Redirector question
Apr 4, 2008, 6:15 PM
in the BlackBerry Curve 8330 forum

Okay, I know this probably isn't the right forum for this question, but here goes. I work for a small company. Because of the costs involved to do anything else, I would have to use Blackberry Desktop Redirector to forward my emails to a Blackberry. I currently use a Palm 755 with PC Monitor Wireless Sync. That part works great, but the Palm sucks as a telephone. My question is this: with BB Redirector, ...

Just go to the on-screen keypad. It displays the letters below each number, just like on a regular cellphone or landline keypad.

Anyone try the Motorola H9 mini BT?? HS850??
Jun 29, 2007, 1:51 PM
in the Verizon forum

I just got the H9 mini BT headset, or "earbud", yesterday. I'm getting mixed reviews from the people I'm calling. I will post my opinion after further review, but want to know if anyone else here has tried this BT? Any feedback? Also, has anyone tried the HS850? I'm testing these with a Treo 700p. Thank you.

Review - Motorola HS850 Bluetooth

in the Palm Treo 700p forum

Just a word of caution if you decide to go with the HS850 headset. I picked one up last weekend for $40 at Costco. It paired with my 700p easily enough, and didn't sound too bad on my end. After some pretty heavy usage over the past 5 days I have had mixed feedback about the sound quality. Some people have said they can hear me very well, no problems. Others have complained so ...

I'm a newbie here, but it doesn't look like there's much activity here anymore. No answer to my last two posts. Tell me specifically what you are doing / where you are (screen-wise) when you want to "go back", and I'll see if it's something I have encountered. One example, let's say you went to the Phone, then into contacts, and maybe you didn't select a contact but just wanted to go back and dial a ...

I haven't tried the last two you mention, but I can tell you the LG 8300 is far better than the 8100. I would recommend you give it a try.

I would like to know as well. I tried to get XM, like I can on my desktop PC, but this would not work. I forget the exact message, but it was something about a type of server not supported by this device. Any work-arounds?

I just got a 700p. At my office we use Outlook 2003 and have our own on-site email server. It's a MS Exchange server. I have tried to set up email with assistance from VZW CS and Palm CS. The VZW people have been great, but have told me that the Palm CS personnel are more well versed in the nuances of Versamail. My problem with this is that the Palm CS dept rarely has ...

I don't go there as often as here, but have found it to be a great source for info of a more technical nature. I find Phonescoop to be "easier on the eyes", in terms of layout, etc. I do like much about HoFo though.

7250 vs. Moto Q? Any input?
Apr 1, 2007, 2:34 PM

Yes, this is a duplicate post. I also put it in the Q forum. Not much activity here, so I hope that will be forgiven. Can anyone here offer advice on whether you would choose the Q over a BB 7250? My wife's employer is going to set her up with a phone/pda so she can get email, etc. She had this in the past, at a different position within her company. Because of that ...

Q vs. Blackberry 7250?

My wife's employer is going to set her up with a phone/pda so she can get email, etc. She had this in the past, at a different position within her company. Because of that we own a 7250 outright, although not activated at this time. The company is talking of getting her a phone for her new position. ...

That's a completely different animal; you should post in the Q forum. The upgrade to the 8100 is the 8300, which, IMO, is a great phone. I have heard enough bad things about the Q to keep me away, but I wouldn't seriously consider any Windows platform phone anyway. They just aren't for me.

Hold your phone with the back to you, antenna on the upper left side. On the top, toward the right side, there is a small rubber oval with a little graphic of a headset on it. Remove that plug. Voila! Headset jack. I have really short fingernails, so have to grab it with tweezers or something.

I have the LG vx8300. I don't believe this is phone-specific from the content of the txt msg. It appears to be a general VCast upgrade. After looking at the msg some more, and going into the upgrade area, I decided to go ahead and do the upgrade. It took approx. 3 min's. to download - in my office the signal is only 1-2 bars. When finished it said it was completed, and asked ...

I used the 8100 for nearly a year, getting one when it was first available, and then switching to the 8300 when it first became available. I have had the 8300 since about last April. My BT headset works better with the 8300 - I tried several with each phone, and settled on the Logitech Mobile Traveller. There may be better units avail. now. The camera is just slightly better on the 8300 - mostly ...

I tried several headsets and settled on the Logitech Mobile Traveller. I have been using it for months. I do notice a bit of improvement on my end after recently getting the v03 upgrade to my phone. One thing I notice is that I am able to turn up the volume, with less static on my end, after the upgrade. The call quality has been consistently good for the receiver of my calls - yes, ...

You don't have to be in "Abc" mode in order to input new words in the dictionary. From "Word" mode, hit the key with the first letter of the word you want; if the first choice isn't the letter you want, hit zero until the letter you want is displayed; hit the right arrow on the control wheel, hit the key with the next letter you want, again using zero to scroll through until your choice is displayed, ...

I can't say if this is the case with this particular headset, but quite often the national chain stores get their own model numbers on different items. A good example is Best Buy; they offer to match or beat any advertised price on big-screen tv's, or something like that. Well, you find a Sharp 50" model xr2900 at K-Mart for $200 less than Best Buy. Best Buy says "oh no, that's not the same thing; ours ...

I also have a family plan. I own a BB outright, and recently added it as a 3rd line on my plan. I ended up cancelling that line within the 15 day window, as I decided that for the expense, I don't really need the BB. I just called 800# customer service to activate the line. It was $9.95 for the 3rd line, $45 for unlimited data BB plan, and, I think, about $5 for a couple ...

Data Plan / Text Question for VZW reps
Sep 21, 2006, 4:40 PM
in the Verizon forum

I just activated another line on my account, to use with a Blackberry 7250. I am getting charged 9.99/mo. for the additional phone line, 44.99/mo. for the unlimited data plan. The tele-sales rep told me I would get charged per each text message unless I had a txt plan, even with the unlimited data plan? Is this correct? It doesn't make sense to me that an unlimited data plan would still incur costs for text ...

Mike734 - I don't know you, but I don't really appreciate being told "You're nuts." Maybe I think you are a jackass - are you okay with me saying that on here? Before you spout off about a post someone has made on here, why don't you bother doing some homework so that you can post an intelligent rebuttal instead of something like, "just leave the phone in a sunny place..... That should do it." Maybe you think ...
