edeskins said: I tried the 1st one but the battery life was just not good enough. Curious to see how this one will compare to the droid phones and how well they fixed the battery... Not as good as the Droid battery life, but its Windows Mobile, so that is part of the reason. But I find the battery life to be acceptable.

There are several reasons for this. 1) For every Windows Mobile phone someone buys, VZW has to pay Microsoft a fee per device. With Android, there is no fee to Google. Therefore, it is more profitable for Verizon to sell the Droid over the Omnia 2, or any other Windows Mobile device for that matter. 2) The Omnia 2 is like a Touch Pro 2, it is aimed more towards business(Though the Omnia 2 does have the VCast suite of services). ...

I have it. The Swype technology is addicting. The camera is the best I have seen on a phone since the original Omnia. There is a little lag, but its not significant. I also have the Droid, and i am keeping that phone as well, for the Google Voice app, mainly. The camera sucks on the droid, and it does also have its fair share of problems. Go for the Omnia II if you are going to be using your ...

in the Samsung Omnia i910 forum

I have had no issues with this phone and I have had it for 5 months. I tether, use the internet, bluetooth, and the virtual keyboard isn't too bad. Here are some suggestions. 1) Use the SPB Mobile Shell or PointUI on this phone. The Samsung Menus are very generic, and useless. 2) If you want to use radio, get a stereo bluetooth headset, and stream your favorite radio through the bluetooth. This approach does not require you to carry that adapter ...

I would do the upgrade. I had the Voyager, then the Dare, then I went back to the Voyager, now I have the Omnia, and I didn't regret changing. The Omnia has better internet capability with the Opera browser, as well as a much better camera.

Well i switched out my phone on Thursday due to my last one getting as hot as a burning pot, and now the paint by the 7 and pound keys is starting to chip and come off on the inside of the phone. There is no way in hell that I could have done anything to scratch the phone because its in the pouch all the time. Back to the store tomorrow.

I had to go through 7 of them. I swapped them based on the crappy bluetooth, echo issue, the first one was a card reader issue. One had really crappy battery life. They even sold me one with a really visible scratch on it. It made the phone really ugly. Now I am on lucky number 7 and it works fine so far.

I paid $50 for the 9900. When you get the phone, make sure on the two plastic black bars surrounding the internal screen you remove the plastic otherwise its going to look scratched out of the box. The plastic is difficult to remove, but it is meant to be removed.

Keep the 8300...The 8600 isn't much better unless you want to read texts from the outside screen or you don't want to use an adapter for the 2.5mm jack.. The 8600 has a lot of the same wallpapers as the 8300, plus one of the display themes of the 8600 is almost identical to the 8300.

I exchanged mine because of this issue. The first phone dropped 6 calls in 24 hours in my house. The second phone ended up keeping 3-4 bars. The second one had to go back because the camera was completely awful, more awful than the first handset. I am now on my third and now i notice that the number 2 button is sticking and its a pain in the neck when I use text messaging.

I send about 2500 texts a month. Plus i can't stand red bars so I rotate between my 815 and 8300. The 8300 has blue bars as an option.

I also have both phones. I went through 7 815s and now I am on my 2nd 8300. Pros of the E815 Reception is a little better. Earpiece is a decent volume. Cons of the E815 Text messaging is awful, the phone freezes and restarts every 20 messages Huge and bulky Weighs a ton Pros of the LG VX8300 Text messaging is great, no problems. Nice Flash UI Nice size Mobile web browser is quicker and better VCast Music Ability to play MP3s as well as WMAs Cons of 8300 Earpiece is a little ...

I went through 7 E815s. I just bought a Samsung a930 and it is a better phone with no freezing. I may also buy an LG VX8300 to back up my 930. The E815 is not a text message friendly phone. I average about 2600 text messages a month.

Unfortunately it looks like this rumor may be true after all. On Verizon's Website, it states that the E815 is now $49.99, though the full retail is still $289. We may be seeing the E817 sooner than we think. Skyrocketing prices on Ebay may be coming as theses phones become hard to find in the coming months. Plus that dreaded Verizon UI may make more people jump ship to other carriers as there will be no phones left with the ...

I looked at the VZW site a few hours ago and the E815 was still there. However now it is gone here in the New York Metro area. It seems that there must be a really big back order. Luckily mine had Vcast all along.
