I have used several...PointUI, SPB Mobile Shell, and a few others I can't remember, but the one I always came back to it Manila2D. It's functional, skinnable, and smooth. http://winmo.sztupy.hu/m2daio/Manila2D%2019 b%20all-in-one%20by%20SztupY.cab for the All-in-One installer...note, dont let your phone go into sleep mode when installing (Author's note, rather, not mine)

You can still use ActiveSync. When the browser comes up, you simply have to select the "My Sevice" (Icon picture of a phone), and then "My Storage" (Should have a little card icon on the folder. Also, there are several other memory saving techniques, such as relocating your internet cache (HUGE HELP) to the 8GB, and other similar things. Look it up at samsung-omnia.org it's a great community, with lots of helpful posts. Thru them, I now have Pandora radio, ...

Really....wow. Ummm....If you are feeling that bad about VZW that you have to troll and flame, MAYBE, just MAYBE you should cancel your contract and move on. I'm not with VZW because of the phone selection. I'm with them because of the call quality and signal strength I get. Nothing would please me more than AT&T cleaning up their act around here in my neck of the woods. That way I could import my phones and have a better quality device. ...

I believe the politically correct tern is "iPwned" stephen5688...If the Sync was such a big deal @ $20 a month, then you should have realized that the $30 data plan would have only made the difference $5 a month. I would pay $5 a month for the better coverage and service Verizon has in my area. If AT&T has good coverage where you live and actually HAS 3G where you live...good for you. In the northeast, not just in my ...

Also, use the Dare browser to go to funformobile.com for ringtones. The previews are a little garbled, but the tones are pretty good (user generated)and send right to your phone. Best of all, they are free to use. I found a great one, search for "super mario rap" I love that tone, whoever made it is awesome

To your corners. The Voyager is a great phone, the Dare is a great phone. No way one will suit all. I love my Dare. My fiancee wants a physical keyboard, so she'll probably get the Voyager. Different people need different things. I'll be having a blast with my Dare. No matter what I'd take either over Apple's creation, lol. At least I don't drop calls.

2X the features, please do elaborate, lol. I'm not hating, I just enjoy watching fanboy wars and rants. It's really quite cute. Honestly as a guy that does some of everything for my office, but not on my phone, there would be 3 dealbreakers if I was to use an iPhone for business. 1) No cut and paste (my biggest E-Mail friend, lol) 2) No (easily) user replacable battery. My laptop has 2 batteries, I feel a work phone should have ...

I see many people talking about a ringtones app, etc... Well. Let's think about it for 5 seconds folks. In this phone you have the HTML web browser. Simply go to funformobile.com and sign-in, search, preview (yes, the sound will usually preview), and then send it to your phone, right from your phone. I did it last night after seeing some of the "How do I get ringtones" and "I want a ringtones app" threads, and thinking there must be a ...

New handset maker comes into play with a completely dull, been-there-done-that design? I would have hoped for a more exciting design, maybe better features, at a better price lever, but stacked against the RAZR and VX-8600 designs it looks almost identical to (but has less features) I'm far from impressed. Unless this thing has a hellfire OS interface, of course...

Oh yea...Don't forget the legal technicalities. It has to be THEIR phone and on THEIR plan. Otherwise both the people doing the tracking and Verizon are legally accountable for stalking. Doesn't mean it can't be done. Just that there are boundaries to the service.

Makes sense. Better logic than the iPod. My only complaint with the iPod, going in circles to go up and down. At least with an arch, you can use the wheel more intuitively. I only wonder how it'll fare out for the text messaging crowd.

Re: Movie Mode...

Seriously, nowadays with movies at $9 per ticket, the last thing I want to see or hear is someone's phone. If you can't be bothered with respecting other people nearby, don't go to a movie. If you have something so important going on, shouldn't you not commit yourself to a 1.5-2 hour movie? I always have alot going on, but at least I know when I'm at home, no work projects. I'm getting one over the KRZR for a few reasons: 1) Different web browser, from what I have read, better. 2) Non-Standard VZW interface 3) For me, the design of the KRZR is too narrow. My hand will cramp with that one.

I have a few questions, maybe someone can help me confirm, as I recieve my 540 Monday. 1) Could it be true? Speakerphone AND music while closed and with voice command? 2) The web browser, not Openwave? How is it in comparrison? 3) Still no text reading on the outside? 4) RF and battery (compared to the LG 8300) Last... What's your favorite features on this one? Oh yea, and I made sure to order the blue, Can't wait to get it. THANKS!!!

This phone is DEFINITELY not for me. But I know several people (at least 8) that would prefer a more simplistic phone. This would be great for those users. I'm just wondering who will carry it? It won't be a huge revenue maker as far as extra services, but that will be more than made up in quantity of users that have been hesitant or are intimidated by technology

They're both good but I think the black looks better when in standby (sleek, all black looks nice) and the white looks better while in use (the red-on-white contrast looks a little better, IMO) Either way it looks good though.

The comfort curve for me is about 1 minute. After which it's almost like it's not there. As for sound quality, it's good on both ends. Not great, but that seems to be a general stat. Sometimes in my car with the windows down, it's better to use the speaker phone, but when walking around it's fine. BTW....the speaker phone is GREAT, very loud and easy to use the voice dial, etc...

First let me say this. I have the 8300 and my fiancee has the Chocolate. Here's my take: The KRZR should be instantly out. It's a RAZR that just looks prettier. It still runs VZW's old UI (which should be updated or gone by now) My personal preference is the 8300. You lose the better media player, the more dynamic flash UI (which is kind of slow) and the touch controls the Chocolate offers, but you gain the better sound, battery life, ...

Nathan, For both your flash question and flashing your own firmware, check out howardforums.com look in Verizon Forums and then into the LG forum you will find EVERYTHING you need (and some interresting items you can pull off with the right guides) Hope this helps. I also have told new things to the techs and CS at VZW. If it wasn't the best network in my area, I'd have been gone long ago.

I'd recommend using a transflash (microSD) card and a SD USB Adapter. It's always more stable and faster than hooking your phone up.

Try this: put the card into the phone. Allow the phone to format it. THEN use the reader to dump MP3s into the my_MP3 folder that the phone created.

Well, I have the 815 for myself and 970 for my fiancee. The sammy is completely worth the extra. The features are great, the innovations are right on and the phone as a phone alone is great (signal and battery life). It is SOLID. However, for the price, you can't beat the 815. It's proven to be the best phone for me, as a rookie buisness traveller. And I like the extra large screen and non-VZW interface. Hope this helps some.

My recommendation: buy a Transflash card and a USB reader. It moves everything fast and easy. From there, you can send it out and you don't pay message fees.

Try this: From the Media Gallery, find the picture you want to send, hit the Menu button and then send. I've had the same issues and this works 100% of the time for me. It should be the same either way, but only seems to work this way.

Those complaints have nothing to do with it as a phone, and there is a clip available, look around. If your only complaints are asthetic, just hold your complaining because more accessories will be made, and at least one will help.

I would recommend this phone very highly. It has a little more of a learning curve, but once you learn it, you'll love it. I have the 815 and my fiancee went through 4 8100's. We finally got her the 970 and we both love it, first and foremost it works...all features, and it works perfectly. I'll post a review in another week after I get a full 2 weeks with it. But I know now if nothing bad ...

Yahoo Messenger trick

With the V-cast you can get a nifty messenger trick, instead of using your test messages. Remember when it was part of web access, and used your minutes? Well same mentality, but with unlimited data on V-cast goto mm.yahoo.com from the browser. Voila, the old version that won't cost anything out of your messages. Enjoy!!
